The Montreal Canadiens tonight played their 2nd game of the year against the Winnipeg Jets and would lose 2-1 in overtime despite outshooting the Winnipeg Jets heavily 42-20 over all 4 periods. Adam Lowry would open the scoring for the Winnipeg Jets but a fluky goal by Nick Suzuki would tie the game up in the 2nd period. No scoring would occur in the 3rd period but in overtime Paul Stastny would get the game-winner less than a minute into overtime.
