Valentine's Day was celebrated by lots of scoring Thursday night at the Viaero Event Center in Kearney, Neb. The Lincoln Stars came in riding an impressive 6 win streak over the Tri-City Storm during the 2012-13 season. But it was the Storm who wanted to notch a win for the first time this season back on their own ice. Eric Scheid started the scoring for Lincoln in the 1pd but the Storm responded with four goals before Lincoln came all the way from behind late in the 3pd. The game was tied at 5-5 and sent into overtime and eventually landed in a shootout. After five rounds, Lincoln stunned the Storm courtesy of a comeback despite once trailing 4-1. Lincoln improved to 25-15-3 on the season with a 6-5 SO win while Tri-City slipped to 18-21-5 in the Western Conference. Michael Vecchione led the way with two goals for the Storm. #BelievePurple by following the Storm on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram all-season long.
