Lakers Fall to Suns in Game 4 | AD Groin Injury

Lakers Fall to Suns in Game 4 | AD Groin Injury Subscribe! The Los Angeles Lakers dropped Game 4 of their best-of-seven series against the Phoenix Suns, 100-92. However, the game itself wasn't the biggest loss that Los Angeles experienced on Sunday afternoon as Anthony Davis was forced to miss the entire second half after suffering a strained left groin. With Game 5 scheduled for Tuesday night, Davis will not have much time to recover from the injury which could be a big issue for the Lakers as the Suns dominated the third quarter and never looked back. Phoenix rode a balanced offensive effort to a comfortable victory at Staples Center as six players scored in double figures for the Suns in the end. LeBron James did all that he could to get Los Angeles back into the game during the fourth quarter. He finished the loss with 25 points, 12 rebounds and six assists but just didn't have enough assistance from the Lakers' supporting cast in order to overcome the deficit. Should Davis not be able to go in Game 5, it could take a superhuman effort from James for Los Angeles to avoid falling into a 3-2 series deficit. #Stellar #NBA #AnthonyDavis #LebronJames #Basketball

Dallas Mavericks Defeat LA Clippers in Game 1! Luka Triple Double Subscribe! The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Los Angeles Clippers in the first game of their round one NBA playoffs match up, 113-103. Luka Doncic led Dallas with 31 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists. Kawhi Leonard was the high point man for LA with 22 points. The Mavericks looked good early getting a nice Kristaps Porzingis jumper to fall and getting to the line repeatedly as the Los Angeles Clippers looked asleep. Luka Doncic posted up Patrick Beverly repeatedly to draw two fouls and getting on the board easily. A Tim Hardaway three pushed the Dallas lead up to 17-6 before a Los Angeles Clippers timeout. Kawhi Leonard proceeded to take over the game for the Clippers, scoring in every way imaginable. Los Angeles methodically worked their way back into the game as the scorching early offense went cold. Though Luka Doncic and Brunson were able to score late, the Clippers pulled within three. The Mavericks led 33-30 after one. With Luka Doncic getting his first rest of the game, the Mavericks tried to steal minutes and hold on to the lead. An awesome Jalen Brunson offensive board led to a Josh Richardson three to help keep the Clippers at bay. Los Angeles finally tied the game on a Rajon Rondo three and took the lead on another a possession later. The Mavericks hung with the Clippers but two paint scores by Patrick Beverly to push the Los Angeles lead up to four resulted in a Rick Carlisle timeout. The Mavericks responded with an 11-2 run to close the half on the back of two Luka Doncic threes. Dallas took a 60-55 lead into the half. The third opened with the Mavericks trying to work Kristaps Porzingis into the game with little progress. In the second quarter, Kawhi Leonard essentially put him in jail, closing off any of his off ball movement by beating him to his spots before he could get there. Porzingis wasn’t able to score on either chance, turning it over in one of them and the Clippers tied the game almost immediately. Tim Hardaway Jr. answered with a tow point jumper and Luka scored six straight. The Clippers then opted to send doubles at Doncic for the rest of the frame. Los Angeles continued to work to close the gap, including a monstrous steal and dunk from Kawhi Leonard. Yet Dallas was able to hold the Clippers off, and took a 86-80 lead into the final frame. An odd line up started the fourth for the Mavericks: Doncic, Nicolo Melli, Dwight Powell, Josh Richardson, and Jalen Brunson. The ensuing strange offense, with Luka getting doubled and kicking to a variety of roll men resulted in no baskets for Dallas for the first two minutes of the frame. The Clippers pulled all the way back in and took the lead. Jalen Brunson then took control, scoring on two straight possessions and drawing fouls on each. Role players then traded baskets: Rajon Rondo for the Clippers and Dorian-Finney Smith for Dallas. Kristaps Porzingis found the bottom of the net for the first time since the first quarter with a roll to the rim and a dunk. After Los Angeles tied it at 100, Finney-Smith connected on his second huge three of the quarter to put Dallas up three. Kristaps Porzingis hit a pair of free throws to put Dallas up five and the game was over. Following a timeout, Kawhi Leonard missed a jumper and Dallas broke the Clipper press in a way that ended with a Porzingis dunk. The Mavericks take game one of the series with a 113-103 victory. #LukaDoncic #NBA #Basketball #Stellar #KawhiLeonard #PaulGeorge

The Frank Vogel Problem
The Frank Vogel Problem

The Frank Vogel Problem Subscribe The Lakers got LeBron James back on Friday night, but they couldn’t get a different result against the Kings than they’ve managed in their last several games without him, coming up short in a close, 110-106 loss as a flurry of turnovers and poor defense doomed them down the stretch, with James missing one final three near the buzzer that could have given the Lakers a lead before the Kings came down and iced things with two free throws. Frank Vogel was not satisfied with what he saw from the Los Angeles Lakers in the loss to the Sacramento Kings on Friday (110-106). Vogel called the loss ‘very, very disappointing’ and noted the team should win as many games as possible to secure their place in the postseason. Frank Vogel bares a lot of responsibility in the Lakers collapse against the Kings #FrankVogel #NBA #Basketball #Stellar #Lakers

Why the Lakers Win Over the Brooklyn Nets is a BIG DEAL! Post Game Recap | Lakers Blowout Nets

Why the Lakers Win Over the Brooklyn Nets is a BIG DEAL! Post Game Recap | Lakers Blowout Nets Subscribe! It was a potential NBA Finals preview, albeit with superstars on both squads sidelined with injuries. Nevertheless, Los Angeles Lakers guard Dennis Schroder called L.A.'s 126-101 beatdown of the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday "the best win of the year." The visiting Lakers were playing without stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis as well as Kyle Kuzma (left calf strain), Wesley Matthews (right Achilles tightness) and Marc Gasol (left hamstring tightness), but they led the Nets by as many as 28 points to win for the fifth time in their past eight games. "Like I said all along, all season long, when we play scrappy on the defensive end, we always have a chance," Lakers coach Frank Vogel said after L.A. held Brooklyn to 43.5% shooting and its lowest point total in eight games. "I'm super proud of our group." Not that Brooklyn was at full strength, either, with James Harden (right hamstring) out and Kevin Durant on a minutes restriction in just his second game back from an extended hamstring injury of his own. On top of that, Kyrie Irving got into it with Schroder in the third quarter, and two were ejected. However, the Lakers had contributions across the board, with a season-high eight players reaching double-digit scoring and the team tying a season best with 19 made 3-pointers. In addition, Talen Horton-Tucker had a career-high 11 assists, Alfonzo McKinnie had a season-high nine rebounds, Markieff Morris had a season-high three steals and Ben McLemore made five 3s in just his second game with the team. "I learned a lot from today's game: that we have a lot of guys in this locker room that are very tough," said Andre Drummond, who had 20 points and 11 rebounds in his strongest game since joining L.A. from the buyout market last month. "Despite who is on the other side of the court, they're going to come out and play. No matter how many minutes guys play, they're going to play to the best of their ability. And we have fun doing it. We had a lot of fun tonight playing and getting this win." Drummond sure looked like he was enjoying himself when he drove and scored on LaMarcus Aldridge midway through the third quarter. Drummond drew a foul as he bullied his way to the hoop and then dropped his hand below his knees in celebration, gesturing that Aldridge was too small to guard him. #LakersvsNets #NBA #Basketball

Lebron James Injury! Lebron James Ankle Injury

Lebron James Injury! Lebron James Ankle Injury #NBA #Basketball #LebronJames It turns out that Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James isn't indestructible after all. During L.A.'s matchup with the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday afternoon, James was forced to leave the game after twisting his ankle during the second quarter. While trying to secure a loose ball, Hawks forward Solomon Hill fell on top of James' right ankle and James fell to the floor in pain. Lebron James didn't sub out of the game right away. In fact, he stayed in the contest and knocked down a 3-pointer from the corner before he checked out and headed back to the locker room. Shortly after James exited the contest it was announced that he would not return to the game. X-rays on the ankle were negative, but after an MRI James was diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain. He will be sidelined indefinitely, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The loss of James for the foreseeable future is obviously a big blow to L.A. The Lakers are already without All-Star forward Anthony Davis due to a calf strain in his right leg, and they are in the midst of a tight battle for postseason positioning in the Western Conference. The Lakers currently sit third in the West, but they're only two games ahead of the fourth-seeded Clippers and just 2.5 games ahead of the Portland Trail Blazers, who are in the sixth spot. Without their two best players, it will be difficult for the Lakers to maintain their spot in the standings. It's tough to tell exactly how many games James will miss at this point, but it's safe to say that the Lakers will be exceedingly cautious when it comes to the reigning Finals MVP. After all, the most important thing for L.A. is that James is healthy for postseason play.

What's Wrong with the Boston Celtics? Celtics Fall 2 Games Under .500! Subscribe! The Boston Celtics' cold stretch continued on Wednesday night against the Atlanta Hawks. The Celtics' fell victim to the Hawks' hot shooting, as they surrendered a franchise-high 23 makes from 3-point land in their 127-112 loss. The Celtics just strung together three of their most disappointing losses of the season. First, they blew a 24-point second-half lead against the Pelicans and lost in overtime. Then, they saw Luka Doncic sink them with a last-second 3-pointer in a game that Dallas played without Kristaps Porzingis. Then, on Wednesday, the Hawks obliterated the C's and the entire fourth quarter was essentially garbage time. The Celtics are sitting at 15-17 and currently are ninth in the Eastern Conference. Team Governor Wyc Grousbeck said of the team, "We're not contenders." So, is it time for the Celtics to punt on the season, become sellers, and try to retool around Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown during the offseason?

Anthony Davis INJURY! AD Achilles Injury! Anthony Davis Injury Update Subscribe! Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis underwent an MRI today. The results showed no rupture of the right Achilles tendon. Davis will miss tomorrow’s game vs. Minnesota, and will be further evaluated by team doctors upon his return to Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Lakers lost by 17 points to the Denver Nuggets on Sunday and that was far from being the story of the game. Instead, every Laker fan was more focused on the status of Anthony Davis. Davis left the game in the second quarter after shooting two free throws. Davis was clutching his Achilles and limped off the court. Davis has been dealing with Achilles tendonitis as he appeared to re-aggravate the issue. Davis is set to have MRIs on Monday. Regardless of what the MRI says, it is safe to say that we won’t be seeing Anthony Davis in action in the immediate future. The Los Angeles Lakers have to be as cautious as possible with Davis. Achilles injuries are no joke and this is not something that could cost the Lakers the title this year, it isn’t something that could cost the title next year, but it is something that could cost multiple titles for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Russell Westbrook vs Nets! BROOKLYN NETS DEFENSE! Wizards vs Nets REACTION! Subscribe! As evidenced by the Brooklyn Nets’ decision to rest James Harden, they clearly didn’t think they needed all three of their stars to defeat the Washington Wizards. But they were wrong. In a display of one high-octane offense taking on another, the Wizards managed to pull off an improbable 149–146 win against one of the hottest teams in the league. Early threes from Kevin Durant and Joe Harris, who hit a career-high eight threes en route to 30 points, forced a timeout from Wizards Coach Scott Brooks. Despite the timeout, the Nets would continue to scorch the basket from deep, and after Harris hit another three to put his side up 14, Brooks was forced to call yet another timeout. And it wasn't Brooklyn’s starters — Jeff Green added 23 points off the bench. With the deficit shrinking and the clock ticking, the stars — Durant (37 points, seven rebounds and six assists) and Kyrie Irving (26 points, eight assists) — were not looking to pass late in the game. Between Westbrook and Beal, who had 24 points in the second half and 37 altogether, the Wizards were more than happy to step into the ring with Brooklyn’s bruisers. With 12 seconds remaining, and the Wizards down by five, Beal sped up the court and hit a long three. With seven seconds left, Garrison Mathews stole the inbound pass, dished it to Westbrook who hit his biggest three of the season, putting the Wizards up one! After Brooklyn missed what would have been the game-winning layup and the Wizards claimed their fourth win of the season, Westbrook was giddy in his postgame interview. “We just wanted to win,” he said with a beaming smile. #RussellWestbrook #NBA #Basketball #WashingtonWizards
