Nella primavera 1994 la Juventus ha sterzato di 180 gradi, passando da Boniperti e Trapattoni alla cosiddetta Triade – in ordine alfabetico Roberto Bettega, Antonio Giraudo e Luciano Moggi – che come primo atto fondante della rivoluzione ha messo in panchina Marcello Lippi, tecnico senza pedigree che non è ancora andato oltre un piazzamento UEFA con il Napoli. Scelta felicissima. La squadra da battaglia che il 22 maggio 1996 aggredisce e soffoca l'Ajax in un pressing senza quartiere è la fusione di tre anime distinte e complementari, la modernità e la tradizione. La prima anima è quella tecnica, nata dopo una pesante sconfitta a Foggia nell'ottobre 1994: da quel giorno Lippi ha ordinato ai suoi uomini di rischiare, alzare il baricentro, sottoporre ogni avversario a un pressing feroce. La squadra l'ha seguito compatta come un blocco di granito già dalle partite successive: due settimane dopo, l'1-0 con il Milan campione d'Italia e d'Europa finito 11 volte in fuorigioco ha fatto capire a Lippi che la strada è quella giusta. C'è un grande leader motivazionale a dare l'esempio e tirare la carretta, Gianluca Vialli. A seguirlo un gruppo di buoni giocatori, nessun campione, accomunati dalla fame di chi ha mangiato il pane duro della bassa serie A o addirittura della serie B: Angelo Di Livio, Antonio Conte, Sergio Porrini, Fabrizio Ravanelli. Il caso più eclatante è quello di Moreno Torricelli, pescato nel 1992 dalla Juventus nel reparto Imballaggi & Spedizioni di un mobilificio di Giussano, dove pare che sia esposta una targa in omaggio al loro dipendente più famoso. Giocava in serie D, nella Caratese, e ha folgorato Trapattoni in un'amichevole estiva tanto che il Trap ha insistito con la società per regalargli un mese di prova. Non se n'è più andato. Roberto Baggio lo ha soprannominato “Geppetto” e ogni tanto, scherzando, gli chiede se può sistemare i tavolini che ballano in spogliatoio; ascolta musica heavy metal, in campo gioca con una foga agonistica ineguagliabile e uno sguardo spiritato che all'Avvocato ricorda gli occhi di Totò Schillaci nelle Notti Magiche di Italia 90. Tutti i giorni, fin dal ritiro di Chatillon, li torchia in allenamento “il marine”: Giampiero Ventrone. Ventrone fa segnare un passaggio brutale dalle preparazioni soft di Trapattoni a quattro-cinque ore di palestra di seguito, con punte di sadismo inedite per il calcio degli anni Novanta. Il principale strumento di tortura si chiama “la campana della vergogna”, un esercizio che stimola non solo i muscoli ma anche l'orgoglio: enorme, tutta dorata, la campana sta in un angolo del campo, onnipresente in ognuno dei massacranti esercizi fisici ideati da Ventrone. Il primo giocatore a mollare è obbligato ad andarla a suonare, in segno di resa: un momento che li umilia anche psicologicamente davanti ai compagni. E ora guardatele quelle facce nel momento più importante della loro carriera, mentre Andrea Bocelli sta cantando l'inno della Champions. Sono impressionanti: non ce n'è uno che stia fermo, tutti scalpitano, sciolgono i muscoli, sbuffano, impazienti di scaricare la tensione di queste settimane. La terza anima è quella dello stile, della tradizione, della storia. In una parola: Agnelli. E la foto è questa: lo zio e il nipote, Gianni e Andrea, separati da 54 anni e da idee un po' diverse riguardo al look. Qualche fila più in basso, dopo aver presentato un breve show pre-partita con un vestito verde di Versace indimenticabile, si è accomodata anche Alba Parietti, juventina anche lei, nervosissima anche lei.
