Do zápasu s Vrchlabím vstoupili Vsetínští s viditelnou snahou odčinit nepovedený zápas ze Šumperku. Jenže stačily dva slepené góly na pomezí čtvrté a páté minuty a se Vsetínem bylo zle. Valaši si poté vynutili převahu a ve druhé třetině dokonce dokázali vyrovnat, těžce vydobytý stav ale vzápětí znovu ztratili a manko již nedokázali smazat. Závěrečná Vsetínská snaha se změnila v křeč a tři body tak po výsledku 2:4 putují k nováčkovi z Vrchlabí. Vrátit porážku mohou Valaši svému sokovi už v pondělí, kdy se v Podkrkonoší hraje odveta.

Premiéru v turnaji O pohár RT Torax mají za sebou hokejisté Vsetína. Valaši přivítali v domácím prostředí Lapače celek Frýdku-Místku. Hosté z pomezí Moravy a Slezska se na Valašsku v průběhu prostředního dějství dostali do dvoubrankového náskoku, ovšem trpěliví Vsacané se dokázali ještě do druhé sirény dotáhnout, aby ve třetím dějství strhl vítězství na stranu Vsetína Vojtěch Šilhavý. Další přípravný zápas by měli zelenožlutí odehrát v úterý proti Kopřivnici.
