Formed in 1883 as Heaton Norris Rovers, they were renamed Stockport County in 1890 after the County Borough of Stockport.

The 2009–10 season is Stockport County's 128th season in football, and the second in England's third tier of football since gaining promotion via the League Two Play Offs in 2008. Stockport completed the whole season in Administration.

Nicknamed "the Mariners", the club was founded as Grimsby Pelham in 1878, changed its name to Grimsby Town a year later and moved to its current stadium, Blundell Park, in 1898.

Stockport RFC was a rugby league club in Stockport, England. The club became founder members of the Northern Rugby Football Union after the English rugby schism, and resultant breakaway meeting at the George Hotel, Huddersfield, in 1895.

2008–09 Grimsby Town F.C. season

The 2008–09 season was Grimsby Town's 5th season in League Two. The club were still managed by Alan Buckley until September, when he was dismissed after poor pre-season and poor start to the club's League campaign.

Grimsby Town Football Club entered the 2006–07 season as a member of League Two for the 3rd season on the trot. The club was managed by new appointment Graham Rodger.

2009–10 Grimsby Town F.C. season

Grimsby Town Football Club entered the 2009–10 as a member of Football League Two for the 6th season on the trot. The club are still aiming to leave Blundell Park within the next few seasons.

Stockport County Supporters' Co-operative

Stockport County Supporters' Co-operative is a supporters' trust, recognised by Supporters Direct. The supporters' trust owned a 98% stake of Stockport County Association Football Club Limited until 2009, when the club was placed into administration due to near bankruptcy.

Stockport County L.F.C.

Stockport County Ladies Football Club was founded in 1989/90 as Stockport County F.C then breaking away from Stockport County becoming an independent club called Stockport Ladies after the first season, the club remerged with Stockport County in 2000/2001.This club play in the Women's National League North one since 2019. They won tier 5 in 2018/19 after drawing 1-1 and winning on penalties 4–3.
