LMU men's basketball will advance to the quarterfinals of the 2021 West Coast Conference Championships following a Friday night win over San Francisco. LMU men's basketball ran out of the gate in the return to play, topping San Francisco, 68-60, in the West Coast Conference opener. The Lions (6-3, 1-0 WCC) remains unbeaten at home this season and top the Dons (8-6, 2-2 WCC) at home for the first time since the 2017-18 season.

A different LMU offense came out of the locker room for the second half, leading the Lions (4-3) to a 51-48 win over UC Irvine (2-4). LMU more than doubled their scoring output in the final 20 minutes to remain unbeaten at home. The Lions matched a season-high with five steals and added four blocked shots with half coming from Markusson. Joe Quintna led the way with four assists and three steals.
