Heat insider Adam Borai revealed that the team is interested in trading for Detroit Pistons forward Saddiq Bey. Have heard for a few weeks now that there is some interest from Miami. There was also interest on draft day a few years ago, I think it would be a great fit. Saddiq feels like the exact type of player the Heat should be targeting. The Heat & Pistons have had conversations about a few players over the last year so it's not difficult to imagine that there would be some rapport there already, Borai said. There is no doubt that a 3 and D forward like Saddiq Bey is the perfect player on the wing for the Miami Heat. He knows how to play a complementary role, and would be a good fit next to Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. Since the Miami Heat consider those two players untradeable. There is no doubt that Saddiq Bey is a young player with some untapped potential and that makes him valuable to a number of teams. The Miami Heat will likely have some competition when trying to trade for him, and a report previously indicated that the Wizards, Clippers, and Mavericks could be interested in acquiring him as well. It remains to be seen which team ends up getting Saddiq Bey. He is definitely a player that still needs development and a steady flow of minutes. The Miami Heat are a team that would certainly be a good fit for him in that aspect. Hopefully, we see Saddiq Bey end up in a place where he can contribute to winning basketball and be the best player that he can possibly be. Derrick Rose was once an All-Star level player who spearheaded multiple Chicago Bulls' playoff runs. However, now, he is a decent backup point guard who is currently on the New York Knicks. This season, we have seen Derrick Rose's playing time greatly reduced, which has led to him being featured in a number of trade rumors. A recent report from Eli Becht of Heavy revealed the words of an NBA executive, who claimed that the Miami Heat are interested in acquiring him. For the Knicks, his presence was greatly missed last season as he only appeared in 26 games due to injuries. Going into this season, it looked like he was going to be playing a bit more, but he’s only appeared in 25 games and only averages 13 minutes a game when he does play. Despite that, he could be a good fit for the Heat due to the concerns over aging guard Kyle Lowry. “Miami is a team to look at there, they’re not confident that Kyle Lowry will be healthy in the playoffs, and they’ve had interest in Rose before,” the executive told Deveney. There is no doubt that Derrick Rose could be a solid guard option for the Miami Heat, and he is definitely capable of leading a bench unit or filling in sporadically as a starting point guard. Derrick Rose has notably been linked to the Dallas Mavericks as well, so it is clear that the Miami Heat will have some competition if they try to get him. Derrick Rose is clearly in the twilight of his career right now, and it is quite possible that he will retire over the course of the next few years. However, it seems as though the point guard already has plans post-retirement, with him claiming he wants to be a team governor in the future. What do you see for yourself post-career? (Rose has made over $150 million during his playing career. In 2012, Rose also signed a deal with Adidas that was reported to be for $190 million over 14 years.) The Los Angeles Lakers have been labeled the frontrunner for his services, but it looks like they will have some competition in their efforts to acquire him, with the Miami Heat being one other team known to be interested in Bogdanovic. Even as they have begun to get back to their winning ways after their slow start to the 2022-23 season, things haven’t gone as they were expected to for the Heat so far. After making it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals last season, the Heat have crawled out to an 18-17 record in the early going, which is way below where they were expected to be this season. Still, that somehow currently has the Heat in sixth place in the East, but it’s clear their roster needs some serious help if they intend on making another deep playoff run this season. That’s why adding a strong scorer like Bogdanovic would be so helpful, so let’s take a look at the perfect trade offer the Heat could make in an effort to land him. Heat get Bojan Bogdanovic. Pistons get Duncan Robinson, 2023 first-round pick and 2026 second-round pick. Throughout his career, Bojan Bogdanovic has always been a strong scorer, and he has showcased that time and again this season on a desolate Pistons squad. Bogdanovic has been their offensive leader with Cade Cunningham out for the rest of the season, and while Detroit isn’t winning much, Bogdanovic’s skills have been on full display this season. Through 36 games, Bogdanovic has played some of the best basketball of his career (20.7 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 2.4 APG, 47.7 FG%, 40.4 3P%). That’s the most points and assists per game Bogdanovic has had at any point of his career, and for a Heat team looking for more offensive help behind Jimmy Butler, it’s easy to see why they are interested in swinging a deal for him. The Heat’s offense has never been the best in the league, but they have solid players in Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro leading the way. The problem is that only Butler and Herro can really create shots for themselves, and they don’t have a true playmaker to lead the offense. Bogdanovic isn’t the purest fit in that sense, but his scoring contributions would be wildly helpful for the Heat. After losing P.J. Tucker to the Philadelphia 76ers in free agency, the Heat have been looking for a wing to replace him in their rotation all season long. Caleb Martin has filled in admirably, but it’s clear he doesn’t offer Miami enough on either side of the ball to truly make a difference for the Heat. Adding Bogdanovic, who can play both forward spots, would be exactly what Miami needs. They could also move an unwanted player in Duncan Robinson, who has completely flamed out in recent seasons for Miami. Robinson has upside as a sharpshooter, but he’s only hitting 33.9 percent of his threes this season, and is a complete defensive liability. The Pistons are in a position to eat Robinson’s salary and take a flier on him to see if he can find his old shooting form again.
