Buttendz grip Demo Day in OHL locker room
Buttendz grip Demo Day in OHL locker room

As a hockey player I understand and can relate to how important your equipment is to your performance on the ice. At all levels of hockey, having the proper equipment can be the difference between winning and losing. Its a game of inches from the first day they start keeping score. The truth is you are fighting for a job every time you step on the ice. For the select players who make it through the political nightmare that is local minor hockey and end up going for it, the game becomes becomes your livelyhood. You start to invest your time and your health. It is all that matters. Its why I take it very seriously when top end guys are interested in using Buttendz grips. Its the relationship between player and his hockey stick. Its essential to success or failure to have a good feeling about it. I met Ben Jones ( Jonesy ) through Akil Thomas. Jonesy messaged me on Instagram having seen Akil using Buttendz Twirl 88 during his record setting rookie season. After a few back and forth messages we set up a time to meet. I needed to be in Toronto for a bunch of other engagements so last Thursday morning I went to Everest Academy where the boys were skating and did a demo ferda boys. I came prepared in case other players were interested in trying the product and low and behold before the meeting Jonesy texted me that Marcus Phillips from the Owen Sound Attack, Junior A Prospect Max Schaefler, and Barrie Colts Defenseman, Tyler Tucker were interested in the product as well. Boom! This was just what I wanted. The more guys that are interested the better and I love the chance to get feedback. I’ve been using Buttendz for 3 years and I know the product is nasty. I really can’t wait to get it in players hands and hear the feedback. We met in the lobby of Everest Academy and proceeded to head to one of the locker rooms to doctor the twigs. What better place to set up shop for the demo. Marcus and Jonesy were interested in our new grip, the Twirl 88. This is the same grip that Akil started using last season. As you know, Buttendz Grips are re usable. If you need to know how to take them off and put them on a new stick check out this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wv9tv8QCvoI. A lot of top end players will not re use the grips. They will put em on a stick and leave em. For these type of players we have been using super glue to seal to top of the grip. This will make them essentially fail proof. In this video I show you the best way to glue the top of the grips to make them permanent. You can do this at home also. If you have questions drop a comment! Since we filmed this, I have talked to all the guys and the reviews have been stellar. I am so grateful to the guys for giving me the chance to come into their hockey world and present my product. The fact that they like it and are willing to switch and endorse it during their draft year mean a lot to me. This video is a behind the scenes look at what happened and how it went down. Just a couple of aspiring hockey players, in a locker room, trying to find and edge. Looking for a way to shave a tenth of a second off the 40. I hope to have the chance to do many more of these. Enjoy. Let's get social...
