D'Mitrk Trice had to play on the road Christmas Day and still got to celebrate one of his best games with his family in the house. Trice scored a season-high 29 points, lifting No. 9 Wisconsin to an 85-76 win over No. 12 Michigan State on Friday. Trice's parents, older brother, Travis, and his grandma were among the dozens of fans in the stands. The family used to cheer for the Spartans when his older brother, Travis, played for Tom Izzo from 2011-15. "It was just great to see them and for them to travel up here and us to get the win on Christmas, it's a big deal," he said. "I was able to have six tickets for myself and coach Izzo was gracious enough to give my older brother three tickets." Izzo acknowledged he didn't recruit D'Mitrk Trice because he didn't project him to development into one of the Big Ten's top players. "I think we would've offered him a scholarship, I think he would've come," Izzo said. Trice is in his fifth year at Wisconsin, where he steadily improved enough to become a third-team, All-Big Ten player last year. "I've known him since he was little and the way he was grown is a credit to him," Izzo said. The Badgers (8-1, 2-0 Big Ten) won at the Breslin Center for the first time since 2004 and extended their Big Ten winning streak to 10 games, dating to last season when they shared the conference championship with the Spartans and Maryland.
Brad Davison had 15 points and a career-high seven assists, and the No. 9 Wisconsin men's basketball team overcame a dreadful start to beat Nebraska 67-53 Tuesday night in the Big Ten opener for both teams. Micah Potter added 10 points and 11 rebounds and sparked a key 14-0 run late in the first half. Fifth-year senior Aleem Ford celebrated his 24th birthday with 13 points and eight rebounds to help the Badgers (7-1) earn their ninth straight conference victory and 15th straight home win.

Micah Potter scored 20 points and Aleem Ford added 12 to lead No. 12 Wisconsin to an 85-48 non-conference victory over short-handed No. 23 Louisville on Saturday in a rescheduled ACC/Big Ten Challenge game. The Badgers shot 54.4 percent, making 31 of 57 shots, including 16 of 25 from three-point range. Wisconsin also scored 19 points off 18 Louisville turnovers. Wisconsin's victory gives the Big Ten a 7-5 lead in the ACC/Big Ten challenge and enables them to clinch it.
Brad Davison and D'Mitrik Trice each scored 17 points as No. 12 Wisconsin capitalized on its sizzling 3-point shooting to beat Loyola of Chicago 77-63 on Tuesday night. Wisconsin (5-1) went 10 of 18 from beyond the arc and made four of those long-range attempts during a 19-2 run that helped the Badgers build an 18-point advantage in the second half.

The Badgers' lead grew to as many as 20 in the second half before posting a 73-62 win to improve to 4-1 on the season. Senior Brad Davison led Wisconsin with 23 points, going a perfect 12-for-12 at the free throw line. Micah Potter added 13 points and a team-high 7 rebounds while Aleem Ford chipped in 11 points.
