INDIA vs ENGLAND Women Cricket international Match at Guwahati Barshapara Stadium (ACA Cricket Stadium). Thumping win for the visitors. India were out of the chase quite early, slipping to 23/3 and then 46/5, with their batting lineup clearly feeling the heat of a tall target, and coming up well short in the end. England have the duo of Danielle Wyatt and Tammy Beaumont to thank for setting the tone early in the game. Their brisk 89-run stand paved the way for a later assault by captain Heather Knight, the highlight of her flourishing act being the five consecutive boundaries she scored off Arundhati Reddy. India struggled to cope in the field, with stand-in captain Smriti Mandhana looking lost for ideas. The lousy performance on the field translated into a poor show with the bat as well.
