Barcelona transfer news Neymar could make shock return as Barca advisor holds talks

Barcelona transfer news: Neymar could make shock return as Barca advisor holds talks. Neymar left Barcelona for PSG in the summer of 2017 with the French giants meeting the Brazilian’s £198million release clause. There has been talk that he is unhappy at PSG with Real Madrid and Manchester United linked with a move for Neymar. But Catalunya Radio now claim that Andre Cury, an advisor to Barcelona, has met with Neymar’s representatives. It’s been reported that Cury met with agent Pini Zahavi, who played a key role in Neymar’s switch to PSG. **PREDICT FIVE RESULTS AND WIN £25,000 - FREE TO PLAY HERE** It’s also believed that Cury met with Alvaro Costa, who is close to Neymar. PSG could be forced to sell Neymar due to potential Financial Fair Play (FFP) issues. The French giants are being investigated by UEFA to see whether they had broken rules in place to prevent over-spending. And because of a potential sale of Neymar, former Premier League goalkeeper Shaka Hislop believes PSG could make a move for Chelsea ace N’Golo Kante. “I’ll deal with these two simultaneously,” Hislop recently said on ESPN’s Transfer Rater when analysing whether Isco and Kante will join PSG. “I think both of them are good fits at PSG. “There is Financial Fair Play to consider. “There have been all sorts of rumours and speculation about the futures of Neymar and Mbappe and whether PSG need to get rid of them. “I’ll put these two down as hits, only if they find a solution to Neymar and Mbappe. “Otherwise it will cost too much and I don’t see how PSG are able to balance the books. “Kante is the best player in his position but PSG are such a complex machine with the money they have spent and the players they have on their books. “It’s difficult to commit one way or another.”

Newcastle transfer news Toon open talks over TWO January deals for Rafa Benitez
Newcastle transfer news Toon open talks over TWO January deals for Rafa Benitez

Newcastle transfer news: Toon open talks over TWO January deals for Rafa Benitez. Newcastle sit two points above the relegation zone with just under half of the Premier League season still to go. And they will be desperate to avoid a battle against the drop over the course of the remainder of the campaign. Newcastle have the opportunity to add to Rafa Benitez’s squad this month in order to give them a better chance of staying up. **PREDICT FIVE RESULTS AND WIN £25,000 - FREE TO PLAY HERE** And it seems two players currently plying their trade in France have caught the eye of Toon scouts. According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle have opened talks regarding Faitout Maouassa and Clinton N'Jie. Rennes left-back Maouassa has impressed on loan at Nimes this season, making 11 appearances in all competitions. And he is expected to be included in France’s squad for this summer’s European Under-21 Championship in Italy. Maouassa would provide competition for Paul Dummett and Matt Ritchie, both of whom have played on the left side of defence this term. And Newcastle have asked Rennes about taking him on loan until May, when Benitez will be hoping his side have secured safety. N'Jie, meanwhile, has been lined up after Marseille made him available with the option for a permanent deal. The forward previously played in the Premier League during an ill-fated spell with Tottenham. And Newcastle apparently face a battle with Crystal Palace if they are to get the 25-year-old on board. Benitez has proved reluctant to talk about potential transfers during his recent press conferences. Ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup draw with Blackburn he explained his approach when asked about signings. "I think it is better," Benitez said with a smile, when asked why he keeps his cards close to his chest. "If I do not talk too much about that, no one will be analysing what I said, and whether it is positive or negative."

Chelsea news ‘I’m disappointed’ TWO stars criticised during Crystal Palace clash
Chelsea news ‘I’m disappointed’ TWO stars criticised during Crystal Palace clash

Chelsea news: ‘I’m disappointed’ - TWO stars criticised during Crystal Palace clash. Chelsea went into the match knowing they could close the gap on third-placed Manchester City to one point with a win ahead of City’s visit to Southampton (2.15pm). The Blues were the better team in a rather uneventful first half at Selhurst Park. **PREDICT FIVE RESULTS AND WIN £25,000 - FREE TO PLAY HERE** The Palace defence largely kept the likes of Eden Hazard and Olivier Giroud at bay, with a long-range Willian effort the only shot on target. Former Liverpool and City forward Craig Bellamy was disappointed at the performance from Maurizio Sarri’s side. He believed Chelsea were too negative in a game they really needed to win to maintain their slim title chances. And he claimed Azpilicueta and Alonso had to push further up the pitch to create Palace more problems. “If I’m being honest, I’ve been a little bit disappointed with Chelsea,” Bellamy said on Sky Sports. “They’ve been very predictable in their build up. “It’s been very easy for Crystal Palace to defend. “At times I think they’re a little bit concerned at throwing too many people forward. “They’re worried about Crystal Palace’s counter-attacking ability. “But the wingers they have, Hazard’s always going to look to come inside, Willian’s going to look to come inside. “Put the full-backs on (up the pitch), you’ve got two centre-backs who can deal with (Wilfried) Zaha, well they can try and deal with Zaha. “But they seem to want to keep three back on one player at times. “I just feel they need to throw men forward because they need to win today.”

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri confirms TWO problems 'The first is more serious'
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri confirms TWO problems 'The first is more serious'

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri confirms TWO problems: 'The first is more serious'. Chelsea sit fourth in the Premier League going into the trip to face their cross-city rivals at Selhurst Park. And they return to action off the back of a crucial win over Watford which has kept them above fifth-place Arsenal. The victory at Vicarage Road came at a cost for Chelsea though, with Pedro and youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi both suffering injuries. **PREDICT FIVE RESULTS AND WIN £25,000 - FREE TO PLAY HERE** Pedro limped off and was replaced by Hudson-Odoi just before the break, only for the 18-year-old to be withdrawn himself five minutes from time. Maurizio Sarri has now confirmed both players injured their hamstrings against Watford, with Pedro set to miss the visit to Palace. "We have two problems, the first is more serious with Pedro," Sarri said. "He has an injury in his hamstring and I think that he will have to rest for about 10 days. "The second problem is Odoi, it’s not very serious but I don’t know if he will be able to play in the next match." Sarri had a more promising prognosis on Alvaro Morata, who was left out against Watford. "Morata now is going very well, he is fit to play," Sarri added. "It was only a tactical choice [to not play him against Watford]." Chelsea are 11 points adrift of Premier League leaders Liverpool with half of the season played. And Sarri says only Manchester City can prevent Jurgen Klopp’s side from winning the title. "You know very well my opinion," Sarri said, when asked if Chelsea could challenge for glory. "As I said from the beginning, there are two teams a step ahead of the others, Liverpool and Man City. "Now there is a little gap but I think City will be able to cover the gap, I think the title will be fought for between City and Liverpool."

NBA news Lakers must BREAK IN Pelicans office to force Anthony Davis trade
NBA news Lakers must BREAK IN Pelicans office to force Anthony Davis trade

NBA news: Lakers must BREAK IN Pelicans office to force Anthony Davis trade. That’s according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, who joked it would take the Lakers breaking into the Pelicans’ front office to make a trade happen. Davis’ future remains up in the air with the Lakers and Boston Celtics heavily linked. The Pelicans have made it clear that they will not trade the perennial superstar away during this season. But Wojnarowski believes a deal could be done this summer if Davis informs the Pelicans of his wishes. “They’d probably have to break into the Pelicans’ front office, get into a computer system and create a trade that doesn’t exist,” Wojnarowski said on The Dan Patrick Show. “New Orleans is not trading him before the deadline, well… never say never. “There is no indication that the Pelicans would even consider that before the trade deadline. “After the season it’s possible if Davis tells them ‘hey, I’m not going to sign my five-year, $239m supermax extension this summer’ which is typically now it becomes a trade request. “You’re telling the team that ‘you’re rolling the dice that you’re going to lose me for nothing next year’. “And typically, if you were going to trade an Anthony Davis, you’d want to do it around the draft. “If you were getting picks from a team in that draft, you’d want to be able to select the players. Wojnarowski went on to evaluate the chances of Davis joining the Celtics. “Boston, because they have the supermax deal with Kyrie Irving, they can’t have two guys on it at the same time,” he added. “But you could agree in principle to a deal around the draft and not execute it until after July 1 if you wanted to get at Boston’s picks this year. “Right now though the Pelicans are still trying to do deals to improve the team around Davis. “They’ve had a lot of injuries. I think they think when they’re healthy that they’re a middle tier Western Conference contender in a group with a bunch of other teams. “Is that enough for Anthony Davis? That remains to be seen.”

NBA news Kawhi Leonard and Kevin Durant to Lakers development, LeBron James prediction

NBA news: Kawhi Leonard and Kevin Durant to Lakers development, LeBron James prediction. The Los Angeles Lakers may settle for a B-list free agent next summer instead of Kawhi Leonard or Kevin Durant, ESPN’s Zach Lowe claims. “KD kind of telegraphed his intentions,” he said on the Woj & Lowe podcast. “Kawhi I think we would all agree that the Lakers are certainly not the favourite or a distant third at best. “Jimmy Butler, he seems to have found a home in Philadelphia. They’re certainly confident they’re going to re-sign him. “Klay Thompson, I think the Warriors are going to max him out. “Kemba Walker, I think the Hornets will max him out and they can offer him another year so you start to ask ‘who is the free agent’. “We didn’t talk about DeMarcus Cousins but if you think you’re going to get Anthony Davis then I don’t know if you want to reunite the bruise brothers that New Orleans had. “Then you get into an interesting discussion is it worth it to go get a Khris Middleton or a Tobias Harris one of these sort of B-list or second-tier really good players. “You’d say ‘then hey, if we got that guy plus LeBron AND we were still able to make a trade’ then that’s not a bad outcome.” LeBron James can easily fire the Lakers to the NBA Finals, former Laker Metta World Peace reckons. “LeBron James, as a Lakers fan, it’s really encouraging to see the Lakers have the opportunity to go to the playoffs," he said. “I’m pretty sure LeBron James isn’t trying to be out in the first round. “A lot of people have got the Lakers fourth or fifth, but LeBron James in his head has them first. “So I could very well see the Lakers going to the Finals.” Cleveland vs Indiana Washington vs Atlanta Los Angeles Lakers vs Brooklyn Dallas vs Denver

Arsenal news Robert Pires reveals message he sent to Lucas Torreira after Tottenham goal

Arsenal news: Robert Pires reveals message he sent to Lucas Torreira after Tottenham goal. Having not scored for Arsenal up until that moment, the 22-year-old received a perfectly-timed pass from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before firing into the far corner. Torreira celebrated by running into the corner and taking his shirt off before being bundled by his team-mates. The game had been a tight affair for the most part but goals from Aubameyang and Torreira wrapped up victory for the Gunners. Pires revealed that he had words with Torreira the day before the big game. "It’s very funny," the Frenchman told The i. "The day before the derby against Tottenham, I was at the training ground and I said to Lucas in Spanish: ‘If tomorrow you score against Tottenham, how are you going to celebrate the goal?. "He said: ‘No, I don’t know. I can’t say.’ "He was very happy, because it was his first goal and it’s a special goal because it’s against Tottenham.” READ MORE: ARSENAL MAN REVEALS WHY INVINCIBLES MAY NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN Pires himself scored eight goals for Arsenal against Spurs overall and managed to give Torreira a little more praise about what it meant to score against their dreaded rivals. Pires said: ”I said after the game: ‘Welcome to the circle’. "Not all players get to score against Tottenham, so he was happy. "Now he’s more popular! "But I think he’s been very good, one of the best, since the beginning." Torreira has been praised for his performances so far in an Arsenal shirt - and is seen as the tenacious player they needed in the middle of the park that they’d been missing for years. Since his now-famous goal against Spurs, the centre-midfielder also scored the winner against Huddersfield last weekend, turning in another Aubameyang assist with a bicycle kick.
