3D reconstruction of the crash between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton at the F1 race at Silverstone. Comparison with Qualifying lap and some details of the crash. Enjoy the crashalong! Verstappen & Hamilton collide on Lap 1. Very interesting crash between the championship rivals. Do you think it was a racing incident? Verstappen 3D Crash Animation - F1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2021
Verstappen 3D Crash Animation - F1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2021

A 3D animation analysis to show what could have happened if Max Verstappen crashed the other way around on the main straight at the 2021 Formula 1 race at the Baku City Circuit in Azerbaijan. Enjoy the Crashalong! On Lap 46, Verstappen crashes out of lead after left rear failure. If he had spun his Red Bull to the left, like Lance Stroll 15 laps earlier, he could have hit the barrier on the opposite side. Firstly, I recreated the actual crash in 3D and then mirrored that path. This is just an approximation. In reality, there is a big range where he could have ended up. Still, I was amazed to find out how easily Max could have gone straight towards the pit entry. Do you agree with this analysis? I don't think Max Verstappen could have enjoyed his late race-winning overtake at the 2021 French Grand Prix if he had gone to the left. I hope this accident serves as a head's up for track safety, that the unexpected could happen at any point on every circuit, in corners and on straights.
