The Tri-City Storm dropped a 4-2 decision to the Des Moines Buccaneers Sunday at the Viaero Center. The loss was the third consecutive of the weekend for the Storm. Adam Klapka and Matthew Knies scored Tri-City’s goals in the game. Chase Clark made his USHL debut in net for the Storm and recorded the loss after making twenty-five saves on twenty-eight shots. The Tri-City Storm dropped a 5-4 overtime decision Saturday night to the Des Moines Buccaneers at the Viaero Center. Matthew Knies (2), Adam Klapka, and Hunter Strand all scored for the Storm in the loss. Tri-City returns to action tomorrow afternoon for “Fan Appreciation Night” at the Viaero Center. With the overtime loss, Tri-City is now only one point away from clinching a Western Conference Regular Season Championship and the #1 seed in the Western Conference side of the 2021 Clark Cup Playoffs. The Tri-City Storm posted a 3-1 home victory over the Lincoln Stars Saturday night, Pucks n Paws Night, at the Viaero Center to complete a two-game weekend sweep. Tri-City has now won eight consecutive games, the longest winning streak for the organization since the 2018-2019 Anderson Cup Championship season. Ben Schoen, Kyler Kovich, and Matthew Knies all netted goals for the Storm in Saturday’s win over Lincoln. Todd Scott recorded his twenty-second win of the season in goal. The Tri-City Storm completed a two-game weekend sweep of the Sioux Falls Stampede in a 7-4 win at the Viaero Center on Saturday. Including the Storm’s 5-3 win over the Waterloo Black Hawks on Thursday, Tri-City won all three sellout games at the Viaero Center this week. Carter Mazur scored his first career USHL hat trick in the victory. Goaltender Todd Scott also netted his first career USHL goal in the win. Adam Klapka, Cole O’Hara, Matthew Knies, and Hunter Strand also scored goals for the Storm in the win. Todd Scott recorded his seventeenth win of the season in net.
