Angling Scotland - Salmon Fishing opening day on the River Teith 2019

Salmon fishing can so often feel out of reach for your average angler. We met with Stirling Council Fisheries Manager, Scott Mason on the opening day of the salmon season. To learn about the their ideas to give everyone a chance of catching one of Scotland’s prize catches, a fresh run spring salmon! The season was opened by James Stokoe, winner of the BBC’s The Big Fish Ambassador. After casting the first line and hitting a few pools. He found time to chat to us about his day on the River Teith.
