Episode 79: Islanders Training Camp and Preseason Impressions
The New York Islanders training camp rolls on, and preseason games are underway (00:00). The Islanders beat the New York Rangers 4-0 in their first preseason contest (2:30). Erik Gustafsson played well in his first appearance in the orange and blue, and the fourth line found the score sheet early and often (4:11). Gustafsson wasn't the only defenseman who impressed, as the young Robin Salo opened a lot of eyes in his North American preseason debut and could make a case for a roster spot (6:20). Ross Johnston continues to have a strong preseason and is a capable everyday fourth-liner (20:00).
