PSG Talking Podcast: Leipzig Loss, Tuchel in Trouble, and Elevator Error Traps PSG Players
PSG Talking Podcast: Leipzig Loss, Tuchel in Trouble, and Elevator Error Traps PSG Players

The meme machine has been putting in overtime with the amount of content Paris Saint-Germain has delivered the past couple of weeks. On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Cose, Matt, and Guillaume to discuss the 2-1 loss to RB Leipzig and whether or not Thomas Tuchel deserves most of the blame for the lackluster performance. The defeat means PSG could potentially fall to the UEFA Europa League if they don't win their remaining UEFA Champions League matches. Is now the time to bring in a new manager or should PSG let Tuchel finish out the season and replace him next summer? Who can fix PSG's "eye cancer" of a midfield? What are the ramifications in terms of Kylian Mbappé and Neymar Jr. who are considering signing an extension with PSG? Also, did you know Marco Verratti is 28-years-old!? After a lengthy and very serious discussion about the issues at PSG this season, we close out the podcast with a somewhat comical story about several PSG players getting stuck in an elevator for 50 minutes before they were rescued. We go around the panel and decide which players we would like to be trapped in an elevator wall. Don't forget to designate a pee corner! Anyway...if PSG don't turn this thing around quickly I'm turning this into a Cambridge United FC blog. Get it together, guys... PSG Talking Podcast: A Roundtable Discussion About PSG's Win Over Dortmund
PSG Talking Podcast: A Roundtable Discussion About PSG's Win Over Dortmund

You've heard Marc Damon and I talk about Paris Saint-Germain's win over Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League, then ESPN's Jonathan Johnson joined the show to share his thoughts, and now, we have a roundtable of PSG Talk contributors talk about the night fans won't ever forget. On this episode of PSG Talking, Guillaume Delaporte hosts and he's joined by James Teague, Cose Espinosa, Matt Gooding, and newcomer to the team, Tyrone Taylor! The crew begins the show by giving their thoughts on the overall performance of the team, which some classified as a tale of two halves, before diving into the individual performances of each of the players. Presnel Kimpembe, in particular, was a standout performer on defense while Neymar's mentality was praised. Every move that PSG manager, Thomas Tuchel, made nearly worked to perfection. His job was very much on the line if he failed to advance past Dortmund and to come up with a convincing victory with so many injuries and suspensions is a credit to his tactical expertise. With the Champions League suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, the team discusses how the tournament might change for the quarter-finals and moving forward. The show concludes with a discussion about PSG's post-match celebrations where they ruthlessly mocked Erling Haaland. Many non-PSG fans criticized the club but as you might expect, we felt it was completely justified considering Dortmund's constant trolling after they won the first leg. Our contributors are based across multiple continents and time zones so we appreciate your patience as we coordinate these shows to deliver the best English commentary about PSG. PSG Talking Podcast: Changes to the Champions League Could Benefit PSG
PSG Talking Podcast: Changes to the Champions League Could Benefit PSG

We're still basking in the aftermath of Paris Saint-Germain's thrilling 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund to reach the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League. Unfortunately, it might be a while until we see PSG on the pitch due to the coronavirus pandemic which has forced the suspension of the Ligue 1 season and the rest of the Champions League tournament. On this episode of PSG Talking, ESPN's PSG, Ligue 1, and French football correspondent, Jonathan Johnson, joins the show to talk about the Dortmund result, the impact of the Ultras, the mocking of Erling Haaland, and how the Champions League might change once it resumes. PSG's match against Dortmund was played behind closed doors but that didn't stop the Ultras from showing up in the thousands to support their team. I ask JJ for his thoughts on the impact they had and whether they should have been allowed to congregate considering the health concerns. We also dive into the play on the pitch. What was the secret to PSG's success? Was it their blue-collar mentality or did manager Thomas Tuchel get his tactics right? Who was PSG's best player that night? If the quarter-finals of the Champions League resumes, the format could change from a two-legged competition to a one-off situation. Johnson believes this kind of change could benefit PSG and he names the team he would like to see Les Parisiens draw in the next round. I also asked Johnson for his thoughts on PSG players mocking Haaland numerous times and what he thinks Edinson Cavani starting over Mauro Icardi against Dortmund means for the rest of the season.
