Houston Rockets star Christian Wood, who is receiving All-Star consideration this season, left Thursday’s game at Memphis after rolling the same right ankle that caused him to miss three games in January. .In 20 minutes against the Grizzlies, Wood had 17 points (70% FG) and 7 rebounds as Houston raced out to a 21-point lead at the time of his departure. For the 2020-21 season, Wood entered Thursday averaging 22.3 points (55.3% FG) and 10.4 rebounds in 31.9 minutes per game, including 39.7% on 3-pointers. Wood’s injury comes at an awful time for the surging Rockets (10-10), who entered Thursday with wins in six of their last seven games. Houston’s next game comes Saturday at home against the San Antonio Spurs. Considering that Wood was wheeled off, and that it appeared to be a reaggravation of a previous injury, it would be a surprise if he can return quickly. “I don’t know,” Silas said postgame. “It didn’t look great.” “It was difficult for me,” he added. “I had to sit down and collect my thoughts and gather myself. As good as he has been playing, a breakout season, and doing everything we need him to do. … Yeah, it sucks.” ESPN’s Tim MacMahon reports that Wood will undergo an MRI on Friday to determine the severity, as well as a potential timetable to return. So, what do you guys think? Will Wood return sooner rather than later? The Toronto Raptors picked up their second straight victory over the Orlando Magic on Tuesday night but the story of the night was Fred VanVleet with 54 Points. Vanvleet's career-high 54 points were not only the best game of FVV's career but, it was only the Toronto Raptors Franchise Record for points scored in a single game, passing both Vince Carter and Terrence Ross in that category. In the game, VanVleet shot an efficient 17/23 from the field including 11/14 from 3. He also added 3 blocks and 3 steals on the defensive end. In the victory, Norman Powell had 23 points, Kyle Lowry had a triple-double, and Pascal Siakam added 8 assists. The Buffalo Bills will play the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game on Sunday evening. This marks the Bills first AFC title game since 1994 when they played the Kansas City Chiefs and ended up victorious. In that game, the Chiefs had Legendary Quarterback Joe Montana leave with a concussion in the second half, similar to the way Patrick Mahomes was forced to exit the Chiefs NFL Divisional Playoff game with a concussion Clearly, all the cards are pointing to the Buffalo Bills defeating the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game and we should all expect it to happen. So far, the Bills have defeated the Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts while the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Cleveland Browns by a slim margin last weekend What do you guys think of the game? Can the Bills really repeat history from 1994 and win the game? Discuss below and don't forget to subscribe! Jason Spezza may be retiring from the NHL after the Toronto Maple Leafs placed both Spezza and Aaron Dell on waivers on Sunday morning. The news around Spezza's retirement came directly from his agent who claimed that if the forward was claimed off waivers by another team, Spezza would retire from the NHL. Prior to the news around Jason Spezza retiring, we thought the Ottawa Senators or Edmonton Oilers would be a good fit for Spezza, but, this does not seem like the case anymore. In his career, Spezza has 941 points in 1,126 NHL Games and is the Ottawa Senators' all-time leader in assists per game. So, what do you think about the news surrounding Spezza's retirement? Caris Levert will not play for the Indiana Pacers after a small mass on his left kidney was discovered during his physical following the James Harden trade. The move is extremely unfortunate for Levert who was expected to be one of the main scorers for the Pacers, an opportunity he deserved but likely was not going to get in Brooklyn with the addition of James Harden. For the Pacers, the move is also tough to accept as they not only were already missing Jeremy Lamb due to injury but, also traded Victor Oladipo for Caris Levert just two days ago. Overall, we wish the best to Caris Levert and hope to see him on the court again soon. Best place for NBA Previews, NBA Rankings, Basketball Analysis and more!
