Check out the grueling truth's guide to rating casinos https://www.thegruelingtruth.com/how-we-rate/ The Indiana Hoosiers miracle run through the Big Ten tournament was ended on a miracle shot by Jordan Bohannon on Saturday and the guys will break down exactly what happened. Indiana found itself playing a third game in the Big Ten tournament for the first time since 2003 on Saturday. It was something most analysts or fans couldn’t have predicted, but Indiana came prepared to play until Sunday. That momentum toward the title game was ultimately stopped in its tracks with one second left on the clock against Iowa. Jordan Bohannon launched one up from way beyond the 3-point line at Gainbridge Fieldhouse and the near-buzzer-beater banged off the glass and into the cylinder to give Iowa the 3-point edge and left Indiana with just 1.1 seconds to find an answer. “I thought it was going to be long and then it banked in and sometimes that’s what happens. It’s March,” Trayce Jackson-Davis said. “Obviously March Madness, it’s a crazy, crazy time of year.” Hoosiers dominate in the paint Iowa had no answer for Indiana down low. Jackson-Davis got going early with 10 points in the first four minutes and ended the day with 31 points on 15-of-21 shooting from the field (71 percent). When Indiana needed a bucket, the team looked for Jackson-Davis in the paint. And when he didn’t have the look, he passed it off to Race Thompson, who added 11 points and seven rebounds. “We kept feeding and feeding,” Xavier Johnson said postgame. The Hoosiers scored more than double what the Hawkeyes did in the paint, beating them 50-24 down low. But they weren’t effective from outside. Iowa held Indiana to just 15 points from outside the lane and beat Indiana from range with 14 3-pointers compared to the Hoosiers’ five. “Some shots we didn’t knock down but we’ve got to go back to the lab and just keep working because if we get selected for the tournament, we’ve got to be ready to knock them down,” Johnson said. Keegan Murray burns Indiana from the perimeter It was a battle between Jackson-Davis and Murray all game. In the end, Murray won by one point with 32 total.

#indianahoosiers #bigtenbasketball #collegebasketball Join Mike Goodpaster and Steve Risley as they look back at a much-needed Hoosier win over Minnesota! https://thegruelingtruth.com/sportsbook/ Our line came from fanduel https://thegruelingtruth.com/yt/fanduel/sport/ Minnesota’s E.J. Stephens drilled a three-pointer to pull the Gophers within three points with five seconds left. Indiana’s NCAA Tournament hopes were on the line, and the Hoosiers led by 27 points just eight minutes earlier. So how did Indiana wind up in this spot? The answer to any basketball question is rarely cut and dry, and this one is not either. But the inability to take away Minnesota’s three-point attempts played a considerable role in nearly costing Indiana a game which the Hoosiers led by 27 points with 8:21 remaining. Luckily for the Hoosiers, they escaped The Barn with an 84-79 victory.

Indiana Basketball🏀 Weekly W/Steve Risley: Indiana vs Maryland Recap

#indianahoosiers #bigten #basketball Join Mike Goodpaster and former Hoosier Steve Risley as they recap a huge win for the Hoosiers! https://thegruelingtruth.com/sportsbook/ Our line came from fanduel https://thegruelingtruth.com/yt/fanduel/sport/ IU finally arrested a five-game losing streak Thursday, with a must-have 74-64 win against Maryland. Here are three reasons why the Hoosiers (17-10, 8-9) got back in the win column when they absolutely needed to: Thursday’s first half wound up defined by fouls, as both Xavier Johnson and Trayce Jackson-Davis picked up two quick ones. Mike Woodson, strict all season on two-foul participation, stayed true to form against the Terrapins, benching both for the rest of the half. Coupled to injury issues — all of Indiana’s auxiliary options at point guard were out injured — that left Woodson with some unusual lineups. Tamar Bates saw time at point. So did Parker Stewart. So did Anthony Leal. Race Thompson played more minutes. Jordan Geronimo scored one of the strangest baskets you’ll ever see, spiking the ball off the floor on a rebound attempt only to watch it spin back down through the net for two points. Through it all, the Hoosiers built a 10-point lead with stifling defense and timely 3-point shooting. Then they let it slip away, as those timely shots stopped falling. They led, deservedly, at the intermission, 30-27, which could have been more but still represented the small victory of surviving without their two most influential players for the meat of the half.

Survive and Advance: Should Juwan Howard🏀 be fired?
Survive and Advance: Should Juwan Howard🏀 be fired?

#juwanhoward #michiganwolverines #collegebasketballJoin Mike Goodpaster and former Indiana Hoosier Steve Risley as they discuss the Juwan Howard situation at Michigan. https://thegruelingtruth.com/sportsbook/ Our line came from fanduel https://thegruelingtruth.com/yt/fanduel/sport/ Juwan Howard should never coach another game for the Michigan Wolverines. Sunday, after a blowout loss to the Wisconsin Badgers, Howard started a brawl in the post-game handshake line that engulfed both teams. He was angry with Badgers head coach Greg Gard for calling what Howard felt was a gratuitous timeout with 15 seconds left in a game Wisconsin had well in hand. Gard appeared to be trying to talk with Howard, who became increasingly agitated. As their teams tried to separate the two, Howard reached out and struck a Wisconsin assistant coach in the head. Gard did appear to grab Howard’s arm to talk to him, and that shouldn’t have happened either, but there was no reason to bitch-slap a Wisconsin assistant coach. Words were exchanged, but what words could make Howard made enough to throw a punch? I will tell you what it was. It was the embarrassment of getting his ass kicked that spurred this. When you listen to his explanation, it sounds like he wants us to believe he was scared for his safety! Howard needs to realize he is no longer a player but a Head Coach, a leader of men. This was not the first time Howards conduct had caused a bench-clearing brawl. It was the second time in a year! Howard was hit with two technical fouls and was ejected in a game against Maryland last March when he clashed with then Maryland coach Mark Turgeon. In that confrontation, an enraged Howard had to be pushed off the court by his assistant coaches. And Turgeon claimed Howard yelled, “I’m gonna f—ing kill you.” The fantastic thing about that is that the Big Ten did nothing about it, so with that being said doesn’t that make the Big Ten a little complicit in this? When you allow thug behavior like the Big Ten did last year, can you be surprised if it happens again? Tes, I said thug behavior, and I say it because when you bitch slap another man for no reason, that’s thug behavior no matter what color you are. UM, Athletic director Warde Manuel said that Michigan would wait until they get word from the Big Ten before doing anything! The Big Ten is not Howard’s employer; that would be the University of Michigan. The University needs to do the right thing and fire Howard right now! During college basketball games, you cannot have coaches throwing punches and inciting brawls. A College Basketball coach is supposed to develop young men for society, not to win games; I am fully aware that Universities and the NCAA are just about wins and money but come on, Juwan Howard has proven that he is not capable of leading young men. Last year Howard explained away the Turgeon incident saying it was because he was from the south-side of Chicago! That is a stupid statement; right now, Howard is a millionaire and the head coach of a Division one college basketball team. I know people will defend him and say he was emotional and needs a second chance, but if you go into work tomorrow and slap another worker in the face, will you be fired? That answer is a resounding yes in most places, and a college campus should be no different. Violence against another human being because he called timeout with 15 seconds left is moronic! Juwan Howard is not emotionally mature enough to lead men, and Michigan and the Big Ten should allow him to learn that listen!

Check out BetMGM Offer Here: https://thegruelingtruth.com/yt/betmgm/sport/ 🔥 The discrepancy in free throw makes Indiana’s defensive performance on Saturday was far from its best this season, but it wasn’t awful by any means. While Indiana’s pick and roll defense left a lot to be desired, the Spartans shot only 43 percent from the field and 35 percent from three. A major difference, however, was each team’s ability to convert from the free-throw line. Michigan State finished the game 25-of-28 from the free-throw line. Indiana made just 16-of-27. Michigan State only took one more free throw than Indiana, but made nine more. For Indiana, Race Thompson was just 2-of-4 from the line. Trey Galloway was 1-of-3. Parker Stewart was a dismal 1-of-6. Jordan Geronimo was 1-of-1. Trayce Jackson-Davis and Tamar Bates made a majority of Indiana’s shots from the stripe. Jackson-Davis was 7-of-9 from the free-throw line. Bates was 4-of-4. “There’s no excuse for free throws,” head coach Mike Woodson said. “We just got to be better in that area.” Entering Saturday, Indiana was shooting just 68.3 percent from the free-throw line as a team. Winning on the road in the Big Ten, especially against ranked teams like Michigan State, requires teams to do the little things, which includes making free throws. Indiana didn’t show an ability to do that on Saturday and capitalize on all of the fouls called. Indiana’s offense struggles again There were many times on Saturday when Indiana’s offense appeared to be without much rhythm and flow. The Hoosiers finished the day shooting 34 percent from the field. A lack of 3-point shooting was also an issue. Indiana shot just 24 percent from three. Stewart was 1-of-7 from deep, Miller Kopp was 1-of-3 and Trey Galloway was 0-of-3. For a majority of the season, Indiana’s offense has only needed to be average because of how good its defense has been. But recently, Indiana’s offense hasn’t done enough. Over the last three games, all losses, Indiana’s best shooting percent from the field was 37 percent against Northwestern. In that game against the Wildcats, Indiana shot 25 percent from three, which was also the Hoosiers’ best percentage from deep over the last three games. “I just got to get them comfortable, man, and feeling good about themselves to make them,” Woodson said. “I mean some of those shots were good shots. Northwestern was the same way. I mean you get wide-open looks and we’re just not making them.” Indiana hasn’t been able to establish an efficient inside-out game over the last few contests. That has both been a result of Trayce Jackson-Davis’ struggles, but also the shortcomings of Stewart and Kopp. When that duo isn’t hitting from outside, it forces the lane to be more clogged. “If you noticed tonight, when we did cut, they (Michigan State) just stayed and let the cutter go,” Woodson said. “… They just basically zoned up when we threw the ball in there. And sometimes he (Jackson-Davis), has to make quicker moves and get the ball out and then we get the ball moving around.”

Check out BetMGM Offer Here: https://www.thegruelingtruth.com/go/betmgm/sport 🔥 Cockburn again gets the better of Jackson-Davis For the fourth straight time, Indiana fell to Illinois. And for the fourth straight time, Kofi Cockburn got the better of his matchup against Trayce Jackson-Davis. Cockburn and Jackson-Davis both came into the Big Ten as members of the 2019 recruiting class. Both have gone on to put up stellar numbers at their respective schools and earn numerous awards and accolades for their play. It was no secret entering Saturday’s game that Jackson-Davis had struggled to finish against the size and physicality of Cockburn, who is 7-foot and 285 pounds. Those struggles for Jackson-Davis continued in IU’s 74-57 loss as he managed just six points, six rebounds with no blocked shots in 23 minutes. Jackson-Davis was just 3-of-9 from the field and is now shooting just 34.6 percent over his career against Illinois. Cockburn, meanwhile, finished with 17 points and eight rebounds in the comfortable win for Illinois. Over four career games against Indiana, he’s averaging 15.8 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.8 blocked shots. He’s shooting 50 percent against Indiana. Most importantly, he’s won all four matchups against the Hoosiers, including two wins in Bloomington. Indiana’s offense disappears in the second half For a half, Indiana looked capable of producing enough offense to keep pace with Illinois. The Hoosiers mustered up 36 points on 1.07 points per possession in the first half against the Fighting Illini and led by two at intermission. The second half, however, brought a myriad of problems. Indiana shot a paltry 29.6 percent in the second half against Illinois. The Hoosiers made just 33.3 percent of their 2s after halftime. Despite grabbing six offensive rebounds in the second half, Indiana scored only two second-chance points. After committing just two turnovers in the first half, the Hoosiers committed eight in the second half. All of this led to Indiana scoring only 21 points in the second half in 31 possessions. It also led to Mike Woodson questioning postgame what his team was doing offensively as he stated the Hoosiers “never got into anything” in terms of sets or play calls. What has become clear in Big Ten play is that Indiana is beginning each half with two players on the floor who aren’t engaged offensively with consistency. Miller Kopp didn’t attempt a shot on Saturday in 16 minutes. And Parker Stewart scored eight points in the first half, but didn’t score in 11 second half minutes. Without consistent production from two of its starters, the pressure on Jackson-Davis, Xavier Johnson and Race Thompson to score is constant. 3-point shooting continues to fail IU in Big Ten play Early in the season, it appeared Indiana was an improved 3-point shooting team. Overall, Indiana is making 34.7 percent of its 3s this season, up from 32.4 percent a season ago. But when you look at the conference-only numbers, Indiana is actually on track to be less productive from the perimeter than last season’s team. Last season, Indiana shot 32.9 percent on 3s in Big Ten play and scored 26.2 percent of its points on 3s against conference opponents. Through 12 Big Ten games this season, the Hoosiers are shooting a slightly lower percentage (32.7) and are scoring fewer of their points on 3s (25.7 percent). On Saturday, Indiana was outscored by 21 points from the perimeter as Illinois made 10-of-23 from distance compared to just 3-of-13 for the Hoosiers.
