The 2022 Los Angeles Lakers squad might be one of the most curious cases of a superstar team failing to perform in all of NBA history. Interestingly, the Lakers' current team isn’t the only example of a failed superteam in the Purple and Gold franchise’s history. In fact, there were at least two other cases throughout the years. The first one was the Lakers team circa 2004 that included superstars Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, Gary Payton, and Karl Malone. It was truly a stellar squad, although they lost to the Detroit Pistons that year. Another one was the 2012-2013 Lakers superteam that had Kobe, Nash, Howard, Pau Gasol, and Metta World Peace on board, yet they got swept in the first round by the Spurs. Now, in 2022, it seems like history is repeating itself and we are witnessing yet another failed Lakers superteam. However, there is always a chance to shake things up. So today we will talk about the Indiana Pacers’ current star, Caris LeVert, and the latest rumors about the Lakers' target to get this player on their team. In this video, we will discuss the possibility of LeVert moving to LA to join the Lakers' big three, as well as all the potential ups and downs of this move. For decades, they’ve been a mid-tier NBA team that has solid players, yet none of them could be called 100% superstars beyond Paul George in the mid-2010’s. The Pacers made eight playoff appearances in 11 years, yet they rarely got past the first round. Considering that LeBron is playing almost as well as before, and Russell Westbrook shows glimpses of his former playstyle, like during that incredible poster dunk over Rudy Gobert, there are high chances that the Lakers squad might be reignited after getting a new player. Why is Caris LeVert an awesome choice for the Lakers? The LA squad desperately needs a reliable shooting guard. While Talen Horton-Tucker puts on good performances from time to time, he is still far from being a consistent offensive threat. On the contrary, LeVert, who entered the day with an average of 17.8 points and 4.2 assists per game, may be a valuable addition to a club like the Lakers.Caris is an outstanding passer. Caris is a great one on one defender, which might really help a Lakers team struggling on defense. 2. He brings much-needed accuracy to the Lakers' team. Caris is a solid catch-and-shoot player with a strong stepback jumper. LeVert is a fairly solid free throw shooter. What are the chances of the Los Angeles Lakers getting LeVert? Another thing is that, according to league sources, Indiana's asking price for Caris LeVert is a first-round selection and a decent young player. Do the Lakers have what it takes to get Caris LeVert? Given the Pacers' proposed price for Caris LeVert, the only assets the Lakers can give away for this trade. What are the downsides to Caris LeVert's playing with the Lakers? He might not be the quick fix that the Lakers' fans are eager to see. Caris is a solid player. He isn’t an elite 3-point shooter. LeVert was never a solid long-range shooter, so this fact isn’t something new or controversial. Currently, LeVert is getting 31.4% of his shots to fall, which is quite a low number for an NBA shooting guard. If the Los Angeles Lakers are willing to adapt to Caris’ game. I’ve said it countless times and I’ll say it once again. Injuries completely suck. There’s almost nothing more disappointing in the world of sports than seeing your favorite superstar get hurt. That not only might lead to a talent missing out on games, but their career might even end if an injury is severe enough. Man, even in 2021, it’s still heartbreaking to see clips of Jeremy Lin and D Rose’s injuries. The 2018–2019 NBA Finals series was where our main superstars got hurt. It was so sad, so disappointing, but apparently it is a part of the game. And the same thing happened to Klay Thompson almost 3 years ago. The Golden State Warriors haven’t been the same since, but they’re definitely on their way to returning to prime time. According to reports, Klay Thompson is almost ready to play on the court, so we'll try to predict how much more impactful he would be for the current Warriors team today. We’ll also cover what changes his return might bring to the Dubs, and how their strategy might change in the future. Let’s keep rolling It is not a secret that Klay Thompson was a very important part of that tremendous run the Golden State Warriors franchise had back in the middle of the 2010’s. He was never the first option, although he was one of the best, if not THE best, second or third piece for the team offensively. And it is really a compliment considering that Klay has always been playing with other GOAT candidates like Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant. To be honest, Thompson didn’t possess any unique qualities. Another important part of Klay’s game was his solid perimeter defense. Then, the injury happened. You all know this story, so there is no need to revisit it. And now, after almost 3 long years, it seems like Klay is about to return and basketball fans are wondering how his playstyle. Klay Thompson is getting closer to returning to action. According to the most recent report, Thompson has been cleared to play at 100 percent, and has begun practicing with the Warriors' G League club in Santa Cruz. It is uncertain what Thompson will be capable of upon his quick return. Not only that, but the Warriors are seemingly aiming to re-sign second-year center James Wiseman, who has allegedly bulked up, around that time. The return of the two players would provide a significant boost to Golden State, which is already the league's greatest squad. last Tuesday, in the loss against the Phoenix Suns, fans learned why Thompson is so crucial. Klay Thompson relieves Curry's pressure, and that has always been very important. No doubt, Poole's performance was fantastic, and he helped keep the Golden State Warriors in the game while Curry was struggling. But what if both Curry and Poole are struggling? Sure, our squad has got plenty of other talented scorers: Andrew Wiggins, Damion Lee, Otto Porter Jr., the guys who can step up when it’s needed. That’s where Klay Thompson shines. As I have said previously, Klay was never known as the first option on his team. It's only in this way that Klay can really shine, getting open looks and draining daggers. The thing is, even though Klay is coming off two severe injuries that significantly affected his athleticism, Thompson has never really relied on his physical abilities. Klay is a high-IQ player who knows what position to take in order to get an open look, and having Stephen Curry. Klay Thompson will one hundred percent make an already great Golden State Warriors team even better. But, if everything goes as planned, he'll be playing 30 minutes every night before long, and the Warriors will need to find a way to fill those minutes. None of those look really obvious, so Steve Kerr and the coaching staff would have to figure it out before Klay’s return, but for me, cutting JP’s minutes seems like a way to go.
