Paddling the Santa Cruz Raptor in sloppy surf
I finally took the Raptor into some nasty surf to see how well it handles the conditions. I'm impressed! The design punches through waves, drains very quickly, and keeps momentum while paddling out. On the way in I tried several styles of re-entry and it can do whatever you ask it to. The design lends itself to surfing through the breakers, and in this kayak there is enough stability to allow it.
