Ebusua Dwarfs 0-2 Hearts of Oak - 2017/18 Ghana premier league
Ebusua Dwarfs 0-2 Hearts of Oak - 2017/18 Ghana premier league

Hearts of Oak picked their first win of the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign following their 2-0 win over Ebusua Dwarfs at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Thursday. The under-fire Phobians needed to overcome Dwarfs FC hurdle at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium to get their faltering season back on track. However, it was Dwarfs who commenced the match looking more determined. The Crabs kept the ball well and created some half openings but failed to get the initiative as referee Awal Mohammed brought the first half to a close. Hearts came back from half time with the determination of breaking the deadlock as they pressed their opponents from the flanks. The Accra-based giants nearly made their early dominance count but Patrick Razak's attempted dink strike was parried away by goalkeeper Frank Andoh. Razak quickly amended his earlier mistake in the 60th minute after he slotted his low shot beyond the reach of goalkeeper Andoh. Dwarfs did not let the goal the conceded deter them from playing their game as they kept possession neatly. They came close to drawing level through Solomon Gyasi but the attacker fluffed his line as Hearts survived the scare. Despite seeing much of the ball, Dwarfs conceded again against the round of play via Joseph Esso's 77th minute expertly hit strike. The second goal effectively dampened the morale of the visitors as Hearts of Oak mounted more pressure in search of their third goal of the game but to no avail as referee Awal Mohammed brough the whole match to an end. The victory move Hearts of Oak to 7th on the log with 4 points while Dwarfs drop down to 9th with the same number of points as their opponents. Malik Akowuah was adjudged man-of-the-match.

Inter Allies Coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi lauds players for victory over Liberty Professionals

A brace from Baffour Gyawu gave Inter Allies a vital win over sinking Liberty Professionals at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Wednesday evening as the Ghana Premier League hit week three. Gyawu, who eventually emerged man of the match grabbed the brace within four minutes to hand all three points to the homes side. The game which was barren in the first half showed glimpses of goals but both sides were resolute at the back to prevent the goals. Twelve minutes after the break, Baffour Gyawu broke the virginity of the game and shot the Capeli Boys in front. Just as Liberty were pushing hard to fetch the equaliser, Baffour Gyawu found the back of the net to dent any hopes of equalising from Liberty. While Kenichi's boys were pushing for more goals, Liberty could hardly find their feet in the game. The win has taken Inter Allies back into the top four after missing the spot a few weeks ago.

Medeama SC penalty against Asante Kotoko - 2017/18 Ghana premier league

Medeama scored a late penalty to secure a 1-0 victory and condemn Kotoko to their first defeat of the season. Kwame Boateng, who was sacked by Kotoko after a disappointing spell, converted the spot-kick to break Porcupine Warriors hearts despite all the efforts they made to pick a point. Goalkeeper Felix Annan had pulled several top class saves to keep the scoreline blank but he could not keep out Boateng from 12 yards. Boateng hit a powerful strike past Annan after referee pointed to the spot following a foul by Seth Opare on Rashid Nottey. That was after a heavy downpour before the start of the second half had threatened to halt proceedings at the T & A park. Medeama have moved to 4th with six points following the win while Kotoko now occupy the 7th spot with four points.

Liberty 1-3 WAFA highlights - 2017/18 Ghana premier league

WAFA SC were at their clinical best to record a 3-1 win over Liberty Professionals on the road for their first ever win in Dansoman. All four goals were scored in the second stanza and once youngster Aminu Mohammed scored for the second time in a row. WAFA could have gone ahead before the half time whistle but striker Aminu Mohammed and Daniel Lomotey were profligate. Lomotey went on a break and outwitted Simon Zibo to enter the box but his shot missed target narrowly. The angle was acute and maybe he should have picked out Mohammed at the far post. In the 25th minute, Aminu collected a pass from midfield and was clear on goal but he delayed and his shot was deflected by Zibo. Liberty came close on the half hour mark when captain Tamimu Montari skied a free-kick inside the penalty arc.
