Asante Kotoko 0-0 Bechem United Highlights - 2017/18 Ghana premier league

Asante Kotoko finally halted their winless run when the beleaguered club beat Bechem United 1-0 at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday evening. Winger Emmanuel Gyamfi put a smile of relief on beleaguered coach Paa Kwesi’s face in the second half when he beat Bechem goalkeeper Prince Asempa with a great effort in the 69th minute. It was a tough game but a determined performance from Kotoko ensured they claimed full spoils and in the process end their two-game winless run. The coach and the players headed into the game under intense pressure from fans following back to back defeats and from the word go, they hustle and bustle the Hunters. Their incessant pressure produced chances but they could only convert one with less than 20 minutes remaining. Persistence by Douglas and also Jackson meant the ball fell kindly to Emmanuel Gyamfi who made no mistake by hitting the back if the net. Kotoko held on to their slender lead to win the match 1-0. By virtue of the win, Kotoko move to 8th, four points behind leaders AshantiGold who have a game in hand.

Hearts of Oak 0 - 0 Liberty Professionals Highlights - 2017/18 Ghana premier league

Hearts of Oak failed to replicate their scintillating performance against Asante Kotoko over the weekend as they were held by Liberty Professionals on Match Day 11 of the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday. The Rainbow Club went into Wednesday's fixture in a spirited mood following their victory over Asante Kotoko in the Super Clash at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday. While the Scientific soccer lads were looking to bounce back after their disappointing 1-1 stalemate against struggling WA All Stars in Dansoman. Liberty started the game sharpest and were a bit unlucky not to take the lead in opening 10 minutes thanks to two brilliant stops by Hearts goalie Ben Mensah. Neither team was able to break the deadlock in the opening 45 minutes as it ended goalless. The second half was tale of missed opportunities as both teams again struggled for cutting edging in the final third. A draw is a fair reflection of the game and neither teams will be too unhappy to share the spoils.

Liberty Professionals were given a further blow in their already bleeding sour after a stunner from Zuberu Sharani helped Dreams FC to pip the home side at the Sogakope Park on Thursday afternoon. A lovely backheel from Dreams FC skipper Leonard Owusu found Eric Gawu at the mouth of the Liberty eighteen box who set up Zuberu Sharani to blast home the opener for the visitors in the 28th minute. A slip from Patrick Arthur 15 minutes into the game offered Brite Andoh an excellent chance to tailor brilliantly with Kyei Balfour who put through Andoh again but he failed to put Liberty in front with a feeble shot. Five minutes later, a nicely taken corner kick from Montari but Maxwell Arthur headed the ball away when he was under no press. A swift run from Emmanuel Amoh on the right caught Andoh in an excellent position but his feeble shot was cleared away in the 23rd minute. Just in the stroke of half time, Benjamin Eshun was put through by Elvis but he hit the ball with kindergarten energy. Liberty doubled their efforts after the break with Coach Asante introducing Frederick Botchwey, Papa Arko and Francis Owusu for George Amoako, Brite Andoh and Benjamin Eshun respectively. Liberty kept the heat on the visitors with the introduction of the trio but struggled to fetch the equaliser. With ten minutes to end the game, Elvis Baffour Kyei was sent off for a second bookable offense after he landed a cynical tackle on Richard Arthur. The win moves Dreams FC to 3rd on the table with 14 points while Liberty remain second from bottom of the table. Leonard Owusu emerged the man of the league for a second successive time in his second game of the season.

Inter Allies edged WAFA SC 1-0 at the Tema Sports Stadium thanks to a Victorien Adebayor thunderous free-kick in the opening minutes of the second stanza. Referee Kenedy Padi awarded a free-kick just outside the box and the Nigerien star rifled past the stretched Richmond Ayi in the 47th minute. It should have been a brace for Adebayor who could not finish off a counter attack in the closing stages of the match. WAFA were not pushovers despite tasting back-to-back away defeats. They pushed hard and forced Inter Allies goalkeeper Saed Salifu to pull some match-winning including. In the first half, Salifu-who stepped in for the suspended Kwame Baah-palmed away Richard Danso's powerful drive from 20 yards. In the second half, substitute Charles Boateng unleashed a half volley and it was the finger tips of Salifu which denied the visitors the equalizer. Good win for Allies who are returned to winning ways after last week's embarrassing 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Aduana Stars. wafasc: Richmond Ayi-M Alhassan, Nuhu Musah, Francis Boateng/Adam Inusah, Youssifou Atte-Prosper Ahiabu, Umar Basiru, Fofana Ibrahim, Justice Amate/Charles Boateng, Augustine Boakye/Jamal Haruna-Richard Danso.
