Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook mend fences The best quotes from NBA All-Star Media Day, LOS ANGELES — Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant couldn't avoid the questions about their relationship. And they didn't try to.  "I feel like I just made it a thing when it shouldn't have been," Durant said during All-Star Media Day on Saturday when asked where he and his former Oklahoma City Thunder teammate stand. "It's cool to kind of get past that and appreciate these guys for who they are, what they do. It's all love at the end of the day." Westbrook — whose media availability at the Los Angeles Convention Center took place at the same time as Durant's, just four interview pods down — expressed similar sentiments.

Kansas makes a case for a No 1 NCAA tourney seed in sinking West Virginia

Kansas makes a case for a No. 1 NCAA tourney seed in sinking West Virginia, No. 13 Kansas rallied late to fend off No. 20 West Virginia on Saturday, picking up a pivotal 77-69 win with major Big 12 title implications.  The Jayhawks (21-6, 10-4) stayed within striking distance of first-place Texas Tech in the conference standings and inched two games away from the third place Mountaineers after completing the season sweep of WVU.  KU's win also has NCAA tournament seeding impact, with this marquee victory bolstering the Jayhawks' stock as a potential No. 1 seed. Auburn, USA TODAY Sports' last No. 1 heading into Saturday's action, lost on Saturday to South Carolina — leaving the door open to a handful of challengers on the No. 2 and No. 3 line. Kansas' top-10 RPI and No. 1 overall strength of schedule might be enough to edge out other No. 2 seeds, including Texas Tech (KU faces the Red Raiders on the road next weekend).
