As of yet the visitors have kept their grip on the game all throughout the play which the scoreboard is obviously telling us. The KL Rahul-led force are way ahead in this contest as they would need to bag 10 wickets to take an unassailable lead of 1-0 in the series. The Indians have merely put a put wrong in this match. One could question how things panned out for them in the first session of Test but like a formidable unit they have pulled themselves and outclassed the opposition. Like we saw yesterday the conditions have gotten tougher for batting. Spinners are getting ample drift plus the ball is also not coming onto the ball. On the top of it the Indian pacers also have the ability to bowl an unplayable spell on this Chattogram pitch. With 471 runs in the bank an awful performance by the Indian bowlers can only safe Bangladesh here. Or something blissful could happen for the home team if the batters take Indian head coach’s blessings and his prowess to bat rest of the two days. However that is massively unlikely. Stay with us as the first ball of the day will be bowled sharp at 9. Stumps on day 3! Exciting day of Test match which went to India as the home team still requires 471 runs to win on a tough pitch with 2 more days to go. The Indian bowlers did well to fold the Bangladesh team for 150 earlier in the first session and then went on to score 258 for the loss of the openers before declaring the innings. Kuldeep Yadav finished with a five wicket haul claiming 5/40 Mohammed Siraj complemented him well with 3/20 getting rid of the top order on day 2. Axar Patel and Umesh Yadav got a wicket each. R Ashwin has bowled 15 wicketless overs in the match so far. The Indian openers provided a good start adding 70 for the first wicket when KL Rahul was dismissed by Khaled Ahmed for the second time in the match. Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara added 113 runs for the second wicket with Gill getting to his maiden Test century enroute. Pujara paced his innings quite well as the declaration was looming and got close to his own century eventually getting there in 130 deliveries his quickest in Tests so far and coming after a gap of almost 3 years and 51 innings. Virat Kohli finished unbeaten Pujara at 19 when the declaration was imposed. The Bangladeshi opening pair of Najmul Hossain Shanto (25*) and debutant Zakir Hasan (17*) have got a good and cautious start seeing off 12 overs from the Indian bowling attack. R Ashwin bowled the most overs in the 2nd innings followed by Mohammed Siraj and Axar Patel. Star of the first innings Kuldeep and Umesh Yadav bowled one over apiece. The Indian team is at the top of this contest as chasing such a steep total on the last 2 day's won't be that easy and the Bangladeshis will have to bat out of their skins. Hello and a warm welcome to our coverage of the third day's play of the First Test Match of this 2-Test match series featuring the hosts Bangladesh against the visitors India from the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. Day 3 is the moving day in the Test Match. India are firmly in control and will want to wrap up the remaining two wickets as quickly as possible. Bangladesh will want to show some fight and get as close to the score as India. Their aim will be to officially avoid the follow-on. One does not see India enforcing the follow-on even if they get the opportunity. All in all an intriguing third-day's play awaits us all. Starting the day at 278/6 India lost Shreyas Iyer for 86 off 192 balls. He could add only 4 runs to his overnight score and fell to Ebadot Hossain with the score reading 293/7. But then Ravichandran Ashwin stood up for India with the bat and he was ably supported by Kuldeep Yadav. The duo put on 92 runs for the 8th wicket with Ashwin registering his 13th Test fifty as he scored 58 off 113 balls. Kuldeep Yadav scored his highest Test score as he made 40 off 114 balls. Umesh Yadav's 15* off 10 balls and Mohammad Siraj's 4 off 3 alongside 8 extras given by the Bangladesh bowlers propelled India to a healthy score of 404 runs in 133.5 overs. Taijul Islam and Mehidy Hasan Miraz were the picks of the bowlers for Bangladesh. They both picked up 4 wickets apiece. Taijul delivered 46 overs while Mehidy delivered 31.5 overs. A wicket apiece for the two fast bowlers Ebadot Hossain and Khaled Ahmed. Shakib bowled less number of overs as he is carrying a rib injury. Bangladesh got off to the worst possible start as they lost Nazmul Hossain Shanto off the first ball of the innings to Mohammad Siraj for a golden duck. Yasir Ali scored contributed 4 runs as well. The debutant Zakir Hasan looked assured out there for a while as he contributed 20 off 45 balls. Litton Das scored a good-looking 24 off 30 balls. Mushfiqur Rahim is the current top scorer with 28 off 58 balls. Nurul Hasan chipped in with a quick 16 off 22 balls. Mehidy Hasan Miraz is still there unbeaten on 16* off 35 balls and giving him company is Ebadot Hossain who is on 13* off 27 balls. Mohammad Siraj was the initial destroyer for India as he picked up the Bangladeshi top-order batters. He has exceptional figures of 3/14 in 9 overs. Umesh Yadav has a wicket to his name. But the pick of the Indian bowlers has been the left-arm chinaman Kuldeep Yadav as he has exceptional figures of 4/33 in 10 overs. He will be eyeing a fifer this morning. No wickets yet for Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel. Day 2 Overview That's it for the day. Stumps day 2 and India is in the driver's seat. 6 wickets fell in this last session and when India expected to bundle the opposition out today only Ebadot Hossain and Mehidy Hasan Miraz put up a partnership of 31 runs and put the gates down. Earlier at the beginning of the day India resumed their innings as Ravichandran Ashwin joined the overnight batter Shreyas Iyer (he was batting at 82). India lost Iyer but after that Kuldeep Yadav (40 off 114) and Ravichandran Ashwin (58 of 113) stitched a partnership of 92 runs and ensured that India went past the 400 mark. India ultimately finished at 404 and Bangladesh came out with their reply. But the Indian bowlers stifled the hosts from the very beginning. Mohammed Siraj (3 for 14) and Kuldeep Yadav (4 for 33) ensured that the pressure was always on the hosts. Bangladesh kept losing wickets and at the end of Day 2 they are struggling at 133 for 8. This will be the first Test series between the two teams after 2019. As we know Bangladesh have evolved their white-ball game to a great extent in recent years. Their growth from rookie to maestro particularly in the ODIs has been phenomenal to say the least. However unfortunately they are yet to find the cheat code to succeed in the purest format often failing to deliver against quality Test teams. Although the Tigers began the year with a bang by upsetting New Zealand in their backyard they suffered setbacks throughout the rest of the year. More importantly they unlike India have failed to showcase their prowess on home soil and would therefore like to execute the same in this series. On the other hand India have blown hot and cold in Tests this year. Although they had a disastrous start losing two consecutive Tests in South Africa they came back remarkably securing a two-nil whitewash over Sri Lanka on home soil. However the biggest challenge for the Indians will be the absence of their key players Rohit Sharma Jasprit Bumrah Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja who have been sidelined due to injury. However the likes of Saurabh Kumar and Abhimanyu Easwaran have vast experience in red-ball cricket and are therefore pretty much capable of making a mark in the series. Considering the strengths of both teams we reckon India will start as the firm favourites to win this match. But can the Tigers force an upset? What to expect: A "batting paradise" in Taskin Ahmed's words. The venue is known for its conditions favouring batters and both teams not just Bangladesh will be put to task in picking 20 wickets on the playing surface here. That said four of the last five Tests here have produced results and notably Bangladesh have lost three of those. The weather is set to be fair over the next five days. Team news Bangladesh: Head coach Russell Domingo has confirmed that Bangladesh are "not going to risk" Taskin Ahmed who is recovering from a back injury. Shakib Al Hasan who was hit in the ribs by Umran Malik during the ODI series continues to feel uncomfortable in his ribs although the scans he underwent again in Chattogram have come back clear. He is likely to put on that blazer in 23 degrees and lead Bangladesh at home once again. Team news India: Regular captain Rohit Sharma is out of the Chattogram Test with a finger injury and KL Rahul will lead the side in his absence. One of the first decisions that the stand-in skipper will be faced with is at the top with regards to who will be his opening partner. Shubman Gill comes with promise and prior experience but uncapped Abhimanyu Easwaran now 27 has been biding his time for far too long and more importantly comes in scores of 141 and 157 for India A in the last couple of weeks. Axar Patel is likely to come in as a like-for-like replacement for injured Ravindra Jadeja whereas Mohammed Siraj and Umesh Yadav pick themselves in the absence of Bumrah and Shami. Will India go with Shardul Thakur's all-round abilities on a flat pitch or include Saurabh Kumar as the third spinning option? Left-arm spinner Saurabh like Abhimanyu also comes in with relevant and recent experience on these shores and picked 15 wickets across two first-class games against Bangladesh A in the last couple of weeks. Jaydev Unadkat who is still stuck in India is obviously out of reckoning. Audio Content Disclaimer For This Content This is self-created content and not copied content. Hello and a warm welcome to our coverage of the fourth day's play of this second Test match in this 3-Test series featuring the hosts Pakistan against the visitors England from the Multan International Cricket Stadium in Multan. It has been an enthralling series so far with loads of action on each of the days. Day 3 of the Multan Test was no different. It's called the moving day and this Test match moved quite fast as has been the case from Day 1. At the end of the day all results are possible with both sides having equal chances of a win. England started Day 3 with a score of 202/5 with an overall lead of 281 runs. Harry Brook and skipper Ben Stokes resumed for England. Harry Brook got to his second Test ton and his second in this series as well. He made 108 off 149 balls while Ben Stokes scored 41 off 51 balls. The tail didn't wag against the Pakistani bowlers as they were bundled out for 275 in 64.5 overs. They lost 5/73 in the morning session setting up a chase of 355 runs for Pakistan. All the wickets were taken by the spinners. Abrar Ahmed was once again the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4/120 in 29 overs. The debutant finished with 11 wickets in the match. He was ably supported by Zahid Mahmood who picked up 3 wickets for 52 runs in 10.5 overs. Mohammad Nawaz picked up the other wicket as he finished with 1/42 in 10 overs. There were 2 run-outs in the England innings as well. Chasing 355 to level the series here Pakistan got off to a solid start as the makeshift opening duo of Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Rizwan put on 66 runs inside 16 overs. The reason why Rizwan opened was due to Imam being off the field and he went for an MRI scan on his hamstring. He came onto bat later in the innings. Rizwan was the first one to go for 30 off 43 balls as he got a beauty from James Anderson. Babar Azam went for 1 as he misjudged the length and left a ball off Ollie Robinson that crashed the off-stump. Abdullah Shafique got a beauty from Mark Wood as he was dismissed for 45 off 94 balls. At this stage Pakistan were in a spot of bother at 83/3. Imam-ul-Haq came in to join Saud Shakeel at Number 5 and the duo slowly but steadily took the game away from England. The duo put on 108 for the fourth wicket. Imam looked solid as ever as he scored 60 off 104 balls. It looked that the duo will play till Stumps. But it was Jack Leach who provided England hope by picking up the wicket of Imam thanks to a sharp catch from Joe Root at slip. Faheem Ashraf came and joined Saud Shakeel in the middle as Pakistan went to Stumps at 198/4 in 64 overs with 5 extras given by the fielding side. Saud Shakeel is still there unbeaten on 54* off 123 balls. Faheem is with him on 3* off 13 balls when Stumps were called due to bad light. A wicket apiece for the pacers James Anderson Ollie Robinson and Mark Wood. The other wicket went to left-arm spinner Jack Leach. The skipper and enforcer Ben Stokes is yet to bowl in this Test match and it remains to be seen whether the skipper brings himself to bowl. Will Jacks has been the weak link for the England bowling line-up. Joe Root has kept it tight. So the equation is simple at the start of Day 4. Pakistan needs a further 157 runs to win to level the series 1-1. While England needs six wickets to clinch the series 2-0 with a game to spare. This game can go either way. Two days are left in the Test match. But today in all likelihood will be the final day of the Test match as we will have a result either way. India vs Bangladesh 2nd ODI Live This Match Will be Played at Shere Bangla National Stadium Dhaka on 7th December 2022 This Match Will Start at 11.30am From Indian Standard time. While India would be desperately waiting to make a comeback in the series after losing out in an extremely heart-breaking way by just one wicket their counterparts will be looking to better their show in both departments. After scoring 186 on a difficult wicket with a significant effort from KL Rahul who piled up 73 runs India made the course tough for Bangladesh with dismissals at regular intervals reducing them to 136 for the loss of 9 wickets before the end of 40 overs. However the last-wicket partnership between Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mustafizur Rahman for 51 runs stole the game from Men in Blue's hands. The Bangla Tigers are full of spinners who will be useful on the slow and low pitch of Dhaka their Indian counterparts are no way behind in that aspect. Team News Bangladesh: The hosts are likely to stick with the winning combination. Team News India: Axar Patel if fit could come in for Shahbaz Ahmed to strengthen the batting. Kuldeep Sen although expensive was impressive in patches and is likely to get another game. Shardul Thakur suffered a cramp in the last game but has been cleared to play Shikhar Dhawan said. It's easy to view the opening game as an upset. India are ranked fourth and Bangladesh seventh after all and the visitors have a history of superlative performances in the format; they in fact have won 30 of the 37 ODIs between the sides. But look closer and you will see why Bangladesh winning the first ODI wasn't as unprecedented as it seems. The hosts haven't lost an ODI series at home since October 2016. They have comfortably defeated the likes of Zimbabwe West Indies Sri Lanka and Afghanistan in the meanwhile and looked increasingly comfortable in a format they enjoy playing. Like head coach Russell Domingo said "There is confidence in this format." It was evident in how they bowled against India the other night and then found a hero in Mehidy Hasan to snatch the game from the jaws of defeat but truth be told they would like a less nerve-wracking win this time around. For India a defeat in the second ODI could mean back-to-back series losses in Bangladesh the last one coming back in 2015. The first thing they would want to get right is their game plan against left-arm spin. It wasn't the first time that Shakib Al Hasan left India bamboozled by the arm-ball. Runs against him were hard to come by even on their last tour but Mustafizur Rahman stole the thunder then with the sheer number of wickets on that occasion. This time Shakib is all over the charts and will pose questions for India once again. The visitors though can take heart from the bowling of Mohammed Siraj in the opening ODI. Their problems scaled up only when Siraj was done with his spell with the other bowlers finding it difficult to polish the tail off. Can the unit conjure up an all-round performance and take the series to a decider? What to expect: Another evening of boisterous crowd support for the home side. Spinners will have a say once again and the side which bats better against them will once again call the shots. The captain who wins the toss might want to bowl first again to take advantage of the "sticky" nature of the pitch in those early overs. Hello and a warm welcome to our coverage of the fifth and final day's play of the first Test match of this 3-match Test series featuring the hosts Pakistan against the visitors England from the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. That will be Stumps on Day 4. Another intriguing day comes to an end. At the end of the day all three results are possible. England may have their noses in front but Pakistan are not out of it by any means. It was an action-packed Day 4 to say the least. Pakistan resumed today with a deficit of 158 with 3 wickets in hand. Salman Agha scored a valuable 53 off 67 balls to take Pakistan closer to England's first innings. Naseem Shah contributed with 15 off 21 balls. Zahid Mahmood did well as he hung around for 48 balls to score 17 runs. Haris Rauf scored 12 off 32 balls as Pakistan ended at 579 in 155.3 overs with the help of 18 extras given by the English bowlers. A couple of wickets apiece for Naseem Shah Mohammad Ali and Zahid Mahmood. Mahmood went for a lot of runs today. Agha Salman picked up the other wicket despite being very expensive. All the bowlers were taken to the cleaners. Chasing a target of 343 to take a 1-0 lead Pakistan lost Abdullah Shafique for 6. Azhar Ali faced just 2 balls before retiring hurt as he was hit on the gloves and hurt his finger badly. The big wicket of Babar Azam was scalped by his opposite number Ben Stokes for 4. Pakistan was 25/2 at one stage. Since then the duo of Imam ul Haq and Saud Shakeel has added 55 runs for the third wicket and has taken their side close. Imam is batting on 43* off 60 balls while Shakeel is batting on 24* off 42 balls as Pakistan ended Day 4 at 80/2 after 20 overs needing a further 263 runs more to win the contest. A wicket apiece for Ollie Robinson and Ben Stokes. A lot of hard work awaits the English bowlers when action resumes on the fifth and final day tomorrow. So the equation is simple. Pakistan needs 263 more runs to win while England will require a further 8 wickets to win the contest. Azhar Ali is retired hurt and we don't know whether he will be able to bat tomorrow. A fascinating Day 5 awaits us. We have had four absorbing days of Test match cricket in Rawalpindi where the bat has dominated the ball on a lifeless track. But thanks to England's aggressive brand of cricket and declaration they have pushed the game forward and made sure that all results are possible coming into the final day's play. When we started off we felt like we maybe staring at a dull draw. But that won't be the case today as this game can go either way. It was an action-packed Day 4 to say the least. Pakistan resumed Day 4 at 499/7 and added 80 runs for the last three wickets to finish with 579 in 155.3 overs. They got there thanks to Salman Agha who notched up a very important half-century to score 53 off 67 balls. He was ably supported by Zahid Mahmood who hung around for 48 balls for 17 runs. Haris Rauf battling an injury hung around for 32 balls for his 12 runs. 18 extras contributed to the total as Pakistan handed 78-run first innings lead to England. The debutant Will Jacks was the pick of the bowlers for England as he sent down 40.3 overs and picked up 6 wickets for 161 runs. He was ably supported by Jack Leach as he sent down 49 overs and picked up a couple of wickets for 190 runs. A wicket apiece for the pace bowlers James Anderson and Ollie Robinson. This will be the first bilateral ODI series between the two teams after 2015. Injury has struck both teams on the eve of the series. While Bangladesh will miss Tamim Iqbal and Taskin Ahmed India will be devoid of Mohammed Shami who has been sidelined due to a shoulder injury. However both these teams are blessed with incredible bench strength which is why we expect a cracking series to be on the cards. Bangladesh have been ordinary in white-ball cricket of late. Despite being a good team the Tigers were handed a two-one drubbing by Zimbabwe in their last ODI series. Furthermore they blew hot and cold in the T20 World Cup failing to qualify for the knockouts. So moving on to this series they will aim at a resurgence capitalising on the home advantage under the leadership of Litton Das. On the other hand India will treat this series as a dress rehearsal for the ODI World Cup scheduled next year. They are yet to find their best possible combination. With Shami ruled out this series will be a golden opportunity for Kuldeep Sen and Umran Malik to make a strong case for their inclusion in India's first-choice ODI XI. At the same time the focus will be on India's decorated top three comprising Rohit Sharma Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli who will play together in an ODI series after more than five months. Considering the squads of both teams we reckon India will start as the firm favourites to win this match. However Bangladesh have surprised the Men in Blue in the past and it won't be an upset if they emerge victorious in this game. What to expect: There is a high possibility that the series is likely to witness high-scoring games with the wickets expected to favour the batters. Clear skies with a high of 30 degree Celsius is forecast for the match day. Bangladesh Team News: Litton Das has been handed the responsibility of leadership after Tamim was ruled out of the series due to a groin injury. With Taskin also not available for the first ODI due to a back issue Ebadot Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman will have to handle the bulk of the responsibilities in the pace department. India Team News: With Mohammed Shami ruled out of the series due to a shoulder injury Umran Malik has been roped into the squad but he may not get a game straightaway with India likely to go in Siraj Thakur and Chahar in their pace department. Axar Patel was hit near his chest while batting in the nets on Saturday and was being monitored by the medical team. But he is likely to be available for selection. Pitch Report: The average first innings score in the last five ODI matches at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka is 212 runs and the team batting first have won three matches. Spinners are likely to dominate in this game. Audio Content Disclaimer For This Content This is self-created content and not copied content. Hello and welcome to live coverage of the third day’s play of the first test between Pakistan and England which comes to you live from Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium🏟 Rawalpindi Pakistan. The day will continue with Pakistan at 181/0. As they still have a long way to go Pakistan which is now trailing England by 476 runs in the first inning will try to catch up to their total. Imam-ul-Haq is batting at 90 runs off 148 balls and Abdullah Shafique is now playing at 89 runs off 158 balls. On this flat wicket both batters will try to continue checking all the boxes and aid their team in catching up to England's score. Earlier in the first inning England were bundled for 657 runs in 101 overs. Harry Brook was their top scorer as he amassed a quick 153 runs off 116 balls. Zak Crawley Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope were the other three centurions for England. Zahid Mahmood was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan as he scalped 4 wickets in 33 overs and Naseem Shah extracted three wickets. In response to 657 runs Pakistan reacted well as Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq started batting sensibly and returned unbeaten at the end of the day. They will look to keep their momentum going today. It will be interesting to see how the pitch behaves today will it provide some help to the bowlers today as it was totally in favor of the batters on the first two days? Day 2 Overview So that will be Stumps on Day 2 in Rawalpindi as bad light expectedly halts play and stops proceedings. It was another day where bat has overwhelmingly dominated the ball on a lifeless track and at the end of the day England has the runs on the board despite Pakistan making a strong start to their innings. Day 2 began with England at 506/4 with Harry Brook and skipper Ben Stokes at the crease. Stokes went for 41 off 18 balls after hitting a six to start his day. Harry Brook carried on his merry ways as he plundered 27 runs off the Zahid Maqsood over as he scored a breathtaking 153 off 116 balls. Cameos from Will Jacks 30 off 29 balls and Ollie Robinson 37 off 50 balls alongside 15 extras given by the Pakistani bowlers propelled England to 657 in 101 overs. They lost 6/151 this morning in no time. Zahid Maqsood was the most expensive bowler on display. But he stuck it out there and picked up 4 wickets for 235 runs in 33 overs. Naseem Shah was impressive amidst the carnage as he picked up 3 wickets for 140 runs in 24 overs. The other debutant Mohammad Ali picked up a couple of wickets for 124 runs in 24 overs. The other wicket went to Haris Rauf who did not take the field due to an injury in his calf and one hopes that won't be serious. After giving away 657 Pakistan needed a solid start from their openers and they got that from the dynamic duo of Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq. They started cautiously and stepped on the accelerator against the spinners and at the end of the day they remained unbeaten. They have got to 181/0 after 51 overs. Shafique is batting on 89* off 158 balls and giving him amazing company is Imam-ul-Haq on 90* off 148 balls. 2 extras have been given by the English bowlers as they stay unbeaten when the players go off the field due to bad light. So Pakistan still trails by 476 runs with 10 wickets in hand with 3 days of play left. A lot of hard work awaits both teams when we come back tomorrow. Will the pitch do something tomorrow? Only time will tell. Audio Content Disclaimer For This Content This is self-created content and not copied content.
