The Clippers lost in the NBA playoffs. Kawhi and Paul George didn’t perform, but why? #Clippers #Kawhi #NBA Twitch- https://www.twitch.tv/mjallday2k Second Channel- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZWAssCaz6YHMXGziCKtdPw Discord- https://discord.gg/RSUxXmU Tik Tok- https://vm.tiktok.com/wfx5vW/ REACTION CHANNEL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQRMHGayBNY&t=516s The OUTRO song is OUT!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SUYj3SUdUw Instagram- @MJ2K_ALLDAY Twitter- @mj2kallday The Clippers are known to collapse. Look at 2015 when they blew a 19 point lead. The common denominator, Doc Rivers who has now blown more 3-1 series leads than any coach in NBA history and is 6-8 in NBA Finals. Even Phil Jackson knew. “They know how to lose”. Think about that. We’ve seen it throughout this whole series. But it isn’t just Doc Rivers. We have Playoff P, or Pandemic P, whatever you want to call him. Paul George. PG is supposed to be a leader on this team. And he’s supposed to be a star, borderline superstar player. Heck he finished top 3 in MVP voting in 2019. And then he’s put performances up like these. Some of these have been in win or go home games. He’s had multiple games just these playoffs of shooting 25% from the field. And there’s no excuses. In 2019, it was the shoulder, in 2018 it was Carmelo. And let’s not forget about Kawhi. Max Kellerman, I want a public apology. Look at Kawhi’s game 7 performance. In fact, look at the whole Clippers. Their top 3 scorers all struggled. Is that Kawhi’s fault? No, he got the shots he wanted, he just didn’t make them. These are shots that Kawhi typically misses. And that can happen when you make a living off making tough shots. Kawhi left the Raptors for the Clippers and ended up with the same result. The most important flaw of the Clippers which was always mentioned but never fully addressed was their chemistry and specifically their lack of playing time together. Kawhi and Paul George played a combined 43 games out of a total 72 games played for the Clippers. And that means they’ve played in less than 60% of games with their superstars. Yeah load management is cool, but not when you got multiple new pieces. They just didn’t have an identity or system. And then think about Kawhi who has primarily been in structured teams with great coaches and management, like the Spurs and Raptors. Without structure, you lend yourself to letdowns. And without a true floor general, this is bound to happen. Kawhi led all Clippers in assists at 4.9 per game. That ain’t it. There was no true point guard that could run the offense and because of that it fell on the team as a whole to get the offense going. But because the Clippers had no chemistry, it became hero ball, whoever had the hot hand and that worked since the Clippers had so much talent. And while I don’t detest hero ball, it can’t be a substitute for an efficient running offense. For all the trash talk, Patrick Beverley ain’t doing much as a point guard and Dame mercing him. During the regular season, the Clippers were 22nd in assists per game. Kawhi is not LeBron in that sense at all. He’s not the guy running the offense, Paul George has in the past to some extent but both of these stars had traditional point guards or guards capable of setting up teammates consistently. Kawhi had Kyle Lowry who performed, he had Tony Parker in the Poppovich system, PG had George Hill who at the time was a steady hand on the Pacers. Now where do the Clippers go from here? Kawhi’s contract is up next year, PG ends next year too, Louis Will ends next year. Harrell is going to want to be paid this offseason. The Clippers have no first round picks till 2027. That means no real trade assets besides the players they have, no cap space to add players. So they are left with a few options. That is to either try again and make sure the team is a well oiled running machine, or cut their losses, try to avoid risk and trade Kawhi. Trading Kawhi would shake the NBA again, but it really also depends on Kawhi and what he wants. From what he’s said, he’s wanted to have some sort of offensive scheme, but the Clippers didn’t have that. We have two players, Kawhi and Giannis that could completely change the whole fabric of the NBA. But what do you think?
LeBron James has not been himself in the NBA restart, and the Lakers have looked different. So what's wrong? #LeBron #NBA #Lakers REACTION CHANNEL: ...
The NBA season is returning, restarting, but for LeBron James, Giannis, Harden, Westbrook, Kawhi, is this an asterisk championship? This is what nobody is noticing. #NBA #LeBron #Harden Twitch- https://www.twitch.tv/mjallday2k Discord- https://discord.gg/RSUxXmU NEW CHANNEL RUN IT UP: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCE7ee_OL9dKLRJaRt6xiluw Twitch- https://www.twitch.tv/mjallday2k Tik Tok- https://vm.tiktok.com/wfx5vW/ Second Channel- @MJPLAYSALLDAY The OUTRO song is OUT!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SUYj3SUdUw Instagram- @MJ2K_ALLDAY Twitter- @mj2kallday The NBA is officially coming back. Just this past week, they released a schedule for all the 22 teams playing in the Orlando bubble, the NBA wants the Pelicans to make the playoffs too It’s being called the asterisk championship, something that ESPN and Jay Williams have vehemently denied, saying that this is the toughest championship to ever win, that if LeBron is able to do this, this puts him on another level. This isn’t all about LeBron, aite. So this is how the new format is supposed to go. 22 teams, 13 Western Conference teams, 9 Eastern conference teams, will return to play 8 regular season games to determine the playoff seeding. These are the teams that got the invite and you can see teams that weren’t in the top 8. Because no team will be able to complete their 82 game season, if the 8th seed in the conference is 4 or less games ahead, there will also be a play-in tournament between the 8th and 9th seed for that last spot in the playoffs. These teams are out of the playoff picture right now, but they have an opportunity. Zion looks ready man, but let the man play before expecting him to dominate like Jordan. Now with the format outta the way, what really is concerning is this. This is a list of players that have officially said that they aren’t playing in the season reboot. No this list does not include players who have COVID and will continue to play like Nikola Jokic. There’s actually quite a few players in that category. These are just players who have stated for whatever reason whether it’s their own safety, their family’s safety, the BLM movements, etc. The Nets are literally missing half of their roster due to players sitting out and injuries. The Lakers have signed 3 new players, Markief Morris, Dion Waiters, and JR Smith. Imagine having JR Smith and Dion Waiters on the same team. The simulation really on something right now. Other teams like the Bucks have lost absolutely no one at the moment, and the Clippers hadn’t lost anyone until this report. And the losses of these players is already enough to change the chemistry and complexion of playoff teams. There’s the added risk of players catching COVID which would be horrible in itself and eliminate those players from teams. I like to think of them as season ending injuries. Imagine how injuries in the playoff could derail a championship run. We saw the Warriors last year have to change up their whole style. Just think about if a superstar like AD or Harden get it. Just like that, their whole championship hopes are over. Which leads to me to the point on the whole asterisk championship. It’s the notion that this championship regardless of who wins it has an asterisk next to it due to the extraordinary circumstances. Giannis said that it’s the player’s job. Doc Rivers said that “the team that wins this deserves a gold star, not an asterisk.” I agree, this championship has no asterisks if none of the players get COVID. But if any star or role player get it, it changes the entire dynamic. Like if LeBron got it, then whoever wins has a huge asterisk because a literal pandemic took out their competition. Same if a player like Giannis, Kawhi or even key pieces like Kris Middleton, Louis Williams get it and the Lakers end up winning. This doesn’t even take into context how the players are going to be after a 4 month break.Like I said in my NBA suspension video, certain players benefit, certain players lose out. James Harden gets to finally go into a playoffs rested and not burn out. He’s also a lot skinnier which can hurt and help his game, but hey he’s skinnier. A guy like LeBron times his workouts and conditioning to be in peak shape during May and June. It’s not sustainable to be in the best shape all year around, but with this break, plans have to shift. Look LeBron looks like he’s having fun, but this concept applies to every player. They have to adapt to unprecedented circumstances. I might go into detail about teams and players because each team could literally have their own separate video. Let me know if you want a video on how this impacts the Lakers, the Rockets, Bucks, etc. But the matter of the fact is that it’s gonna be a race on which team can get in form first rather than which team may necessarily be better.
Kobe Bryant and Shaq have an NBA rivalry that involved a lot of trash talk and fighting. This was Kobe’s first all-star season, the season that Kobe would have his iconic duel with Michael Jordan and be called the Next Jordan. Safe to say there was a lot of media frenzy over this 19 year old. So in a weird, not so weird turn of events, Kobe’s jersey sales went through the roof and actually surpassed Shaq and Shaq who was in his feels and reportedly jealous, called out Kobe for playing selfishly. However the coach at the time, Kurt Rambis, was partial towards Kobe. As Shaq grew impatient, Rambis preached more patience with Kobe. Kobe wanted to be the greatest player of all time right out the gate and so he was trying to expedite the process. While Shaq didn’t want to be a guinea pig or a sacrificial lamb in the process, because he was the best player in the NBA averaging 27 points and 11.5 rebounds in his first 3 seasons on the Lakers. Shaq was the leader, however he didn’t want to manage his teammates and responsibilities. This would lead to the lockout 1998-99 season which, uhhh, was an important turning point for these two. There would be a team scrimmage with Kobe and Shaq on opposite teams. And I’m just gonna let Kobe and Shaq describe this one. Yeah, Kobe and Shaq had a fight. So yeah Shaq called Kobe selfish. In fact, he’s the one who started the rumors of Kobe being selfish to the point where it was just becoming part of Kobe’s reputation. What made it worse was that Phil Jackson, who became the coach in 1999, took a side, Shaq’s side, making the NBA rivalry worse. Kobe’s career started to take off even further next year and he averaged 28.5 points next season. On top of that, there were reports that Shaq came into training camp out of shape which made Phil and Kobe both mad. Kobe had improved his game and assumed more responsibilities in the offense which would come at the expense of Shaq. At that point, Kobe was already one of the hardest workers in the NBA, he was serious. Shaq had more of a fun personality. He put in the work, but it didn’t meet Kobe’s standard. This time he waited till camp started to get surgery and had the famous quote “I got hurt on company time, so I'll rehab on company time,” Kobe, well Kobe was mad. So while that decision loomed in the balance, that would tear his whole family apart and affect his play on the court, but it would also strain the relationship between his teammates and him. Phil also made it a point to alienate Jerry West from the team, kicking him out of locker rooms which would in turn further push Kobe from the team since West favored Kobe. On top of all that, Shaq wasn’t publicly supporting Kobe. Instead, Shaq was making statements such as the Lakers were his team and that the reason that Gary Payton and Karl Malone came to LA because of one player, himself. And then in October in an interview with Jim Gray, Kobe calls Shaq fat and lazy. Yeah and you would think that that’s not gonna go over so well. And you’d be right. And in a preseason practice, Shaq is telling their teammates that he’s gonna blank him up. And when Kobe pulls up. And Shaq said this, “Hours earlier we had just promised our coach we'd stop. It was a truce broken. I let the guys know, ‘I'm going to kill him.“’ So when Kobe comes, “Kobe stands up and goes face-to-face with me and says, ‘You always said you're my big brother, you'd do anything for me, and then this Colorado thing happens and you never even called me,“ and that ‘Well, I thought you'd publicly support me, at least,' Kobe said. 'You're supposed to be my friend. And so now the race was on, who would end up with more rings. We have to talk about the cheating scandal. While this whole sexual assault case was happening, Kobe told the police detectives quote “he should have done what Shaq does… that Shaq would pay his women not to say anything” and already had paid up to $1 million “for situations like this.” In 2008, Shaq blamed Kobe for his marriage saying that “I’m a horse, Kobe ratted me out, that’s why I’m getting divorced.” So yeah Kobe gave the MVP trophy to Shaq’s son and for Shaq, it was a sort of realization to put the pettiness aside. Shaq would congratulate Kobe when he won his 5th championship, Kobe would say that he had one more than Shaq. This video was sponsored by Skillshare.

In their very first game of this season, Harden would drop 47 points with Beverley guarding him from time to time. Actually that comes later on, but yeah. Westbrook himself had a pretty horrible game shooting 30% from the field on 20 points. Russ for the most part was guarded by Bev and so after the game, he was asked whether Bev’s defense was really that annoying. His response (trick y’all). So going back to this play, some excused it for Beverley just being Beverley, injuring Westbrook after going for a ball.On March 11, 2014, after the whistle blows, Beverley puts his hands on Westbrook and of course Westbrook loses it. It makes sense, that was the same play that took Westbrook out for months and there was justifiable anger. Throughout the game there was just physical play. Throughout the years, it was more physical play. In the 2017 playoffs, there was a hard foul and you guessed it, more arguing. Westbrook mocking Bev had me dying. It is true that Beverley would scream out 1st team all defense randomly so Russ was pretty much mocking that saying he had 42 on him. That was the first real time they trash talked each other and not just some yelling out of anger. But they wouldn’t play until a whole year later so nothing would really escalate and no real chance to retaliate. Their next game would be just a few days later on November 22, 2019. This game would be back forth. In this game, Beverley was matched up with Harden so he wasn’t guarding Westbrook for almost all the game. But despite that, Westbrook still didn’t have a good game. He only had 22 points on 41% from the field and 1 of 7 3 pointers from the field. This is the game that this happened (Harden crossing Beverley). Paul George was horrible from the field, shooting 27% from the field, Kawhi was doing his thing and had 24 on 56% from the field. Harden was going off, he had 37 points, 12 assists, and 8 boards on 56% from the field and 46% from 3. Kawhi hits the midrange jumper to go ahead. Harden has the ball with Kawhi guarding him, PG comes over with the double leaving Russ wide open. Yeah Beverley mocks Westbrook’s shot. And to be fair, Westbrook was shooting 22% from 3 upto that point in the season. Westbrook was shooting bricks. Westbrook can be seen visibly calling Bev “trash”. And as soon as the game started, it was on. Westbrook was making midrange shots over everyone, making circus shots and just barrelling through defenders. Once again, Patrick Beverley wasn’t guarding Westbrook. On top of that Westbrook was getting to the line since none of the Clippers could keep him in front. Not even Kawhi. Yeah. Russ would end up going to the line 13 times and surprisingly make 12 of them. And then in the third quarter, the Rockets swing the ball to Russ. Beverley does shows and runs back to Harden. Russ takes the three and hits it. Right after, he points at Bev. If you remember, that’s the same spot that Russ had just missed the game winning three and the three that Beverley had mocked him. Westbrook would continue carrying the Rockets and end the game with 40 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists. Towards the end of the game, Beverley picks up his 6th foul in a 3 point game. Russ keeps taunting Bev as he’s leaving the court. Russ gets the tech as Harden pushes him away. The Rockets would win the game and afterwards, Westbrook just said (nothing new). But what do you think? Who’s the most competitive player in the league.

After the 1998 season, the Bulls break apart, Jordan retires and the rest of the Bulls core is left their separate ways. And in this regular season opener game on February 5th 1999 that Michael Jordan decided to pull up to, Kobe dominated him. And that would carry over into the future as Kobe and Pippen faced off more and more in much higher stakes, and became much more hostile against each other. This whole dynamic between Kobe and Pippen became really interesting to me because this all takes place right after the Last Dance ends in the 97-98 season. Jordan retires and the Bulls breaks apart. At the same time, this is with the rise of Kobe who had just become an all-star in the 98 season. Kobe was young and developing, but he wasn’t taking jack from anyone, even if it was a 6 time champion in Scottie Pippen. Once again, Scottie Pippen wouldn’t get what he wanted, he would get traded to the Trail Blazers to join Rasheed Wallace, an all-star but a lot of you probably remember him as the ball don’t lie guy and Steve Smith. And just like that Pippen would be inserted into the Lakers Blazers rivalry. The Blazers and Lakers would meet in the Western Conference Finals. Pippen, as we’ve seen, wasn’t gonna take any sort of trash talk. So throughout the series, Pippen is constantly trash talking Kobe, trying to wear him down. Kobe had 25 in the game to lead the Lakers, Pippen only had 10 including 0 in that 4th quarter. That makes 2 years that the Lakers and Kobe beat the Pippen out of the playoffs. And now we’ve finally arrived at this moment, 2001, another playoffs series between the Lakers and Trail Blazers, but all the resentment finally had leaked into Kobe and Pippen. Pippen was sick of the Lakers constantly beating him and sick of Kobe pretty much taking what he wanted. So the series starts and Kobe appears to get some sort of injury in the first half of game 1. He complains about having a rib injury, 3 points in the first half and just off. But then in the second half, Kobe just couldn’t be stopped, scoring 25 including 15 in the 4th quarter to lead the Lakers to a win. Kobe was unstoppable, making all his shots, facilitating, all with Pippen defending him. After the game though, Pippen wasn’t buying anything Kobe said and accused him of faking his rib injury saying, "He's trying to be like Mike, He wants to have a heroic performance. They said he had bruised ribs. Come on. It didn't look like he had bruised ribs. He didn't find a shot he didn't like." So now we move on to Game 2. And Kobe is just dominant. He’s controlling the pace of the game, he’s making almost everything he takes, getting anywhere he wants, rib injury or not. It’s one of those games the Blazers never had a chance. Kobe scored 25 points on 73% shooting from the field in 35 minutes along with 7 assists. Pippen shoves Kobe right at the ribs that were injured, and they start arguing. Keep in mind Scottie’s 35, yet still petty. He was trying to belittle Kobe, to make Kobe seem smaller than he was, but he couldn’t and on top of that, he was completely useless in stopping Kobe. Then there would be game 3. This time Kobe wouldn’t be as dominant, but the Lakers would be just as dominant, Kobe scores 22 points with 9 assists, Pippen only musters up 7 points on 23% from the field. The Lakers win the series 3-0 and win by an average of 14.6 points. Surprise the Lakers and Blazers meet again next year and this time for the series, Kobe led both teams in scoring at 26 a game. The start of the first game though. Kobe was on a mission, he made Pippen look like an old fossil on both ends of the floor. Throughout the years though, Scottie has showed respect to Kobe. Pippen did trash talk a lot during his career but doesn’t seem to hold any grudges besides the Bad Boy Pistons. I didn’t know Kobe and Pippen went this deep, but 41 games later and here we are, but what do you think? If it was Scottie Pippen and Shaq, no Kobe, how many championships would they have won?
Kobe Bryant was choked by an NBA player, trash talked back, and owned him but there’s more to it than that. #NBA #Kobe #TrashTalk Twitch- https://www.twitch.tv/mjallday2k Tik Tok- https://vm.tiktok.com/Vwagr2/ Second Channel- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZWAssCaz6YHMXGziCKtdPw The OUTRO song is OUT!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SUYj3SUdUw Instagram- @MJ2K_ALLDAY Twitter- @mj2kallday Kobe Bryant has had his fair share of opponents who tried to shut him down and to rise up. Raja Bell was one of em that in his own words, “genuinely hated Kobe” with a long history before and after clotheslining Kobe so let’s break this down. So let’s go way back to a different NBA when teams were averaging 94.8 points per game. It’s the 2001 NBA Finals, Lakers vs Sixers. Most people remember Kobe and AI arguing, but don’t remember this young player named Raja Bell. And don’t worry Kobe didn’t either. Bell was a last minute addition to the Sixers, he got a 10 day contract in April of 2001 and ended up actually being an important piece because of his defense. So Bell guarded Kobe for long stretches in the finals. But nothing really came out of it. As Raja Bell recalls, "At that point, the only way I was going to play in the playoffs was to get out there and get in somebody's [face]. He was my job. I think people blew it out of proportion because it wasn't personal for me, and I don't think I was on his radar." The 2004-05 season was different. Raja Bell was on Jazz and was finally a regular in the rotation which meant more time defending Kobe. And based off of Raja, Kobe was hitting him in the face with elbows. It’s possible that what Raja Bell was saying is true, but that was never his real problem with Kobe. Bell was becoming one of those annoying defenders, a guy that wanted to try to claim the “Kobe Stopper” title. And to some extent, it was impacting Kobe. Still, Kobe averaged 42.5 points against the Suns in that regular season. When he was asked about how Bell was affecting him, he said "I've got bigger fish to fry than Raja Bell. Are you kidding me?". And then we have the 2006 playoffs, a very chippy, physical series. It’s the Suns vs Lakers, MVP Steve Nash and the dynamic seven second offense versus Kobe who averaged 35 points in the regular season dragging a subpar Lakers squad with Kwame Brown and Smush Parker starting. But there was also the Kobe vs Bell match up which for the most part stayed relatively quiet. There was tension between the two teams. There was the fake elbow, and then in Game 5 in a blowout for the Suns, there was the clothesline. Kobe got up from it like it was nothing and proceeded to smile it off, wagging his finger as to say that didn’t mean anything. After the game this is what Kobe said. "Does he know me? Do I know this guy? I don't know this guy, I might have said one word to this guy. I don't know this kid. I think he overreacts to stuff.. I don't know this kid. I don't need to know this kid. I don't want to. We go out there, we play the game and leave it at that. Maybe he wasn't hugged enough as a kid. I look at him a little bit, he gets a little insecure or something. I don't know." It was stuff like that which was the real reason why Raja Bell had a problem with Kobe, not the elbows, it was the disrespect. This is what Bell said "My problem with Kobe isn't that he doesn't respect me, I felt he was disrespecting me, and that he didn't care that he was doing it. I don't need respect, but you're not going to disrespect me.And after denying claims that he’s a dirty player he said, “I definitely took a shot at Kobe. You bet. So people have a reason to call me dirty now. And that's fine with me." He also called Kobe a pompous, arrogant individual. Raja Bell recently came out saying that “There wasn’t a greater competitor” and that he relished every chance to play against Kobe. That’s what made Kobe Bryant special. Even his opponents couldn’t help but respect who he was and what he stood for. Kobe was that man and he wasn’t backing down from anyone. But what do you think? Rank the best trash talkers of all time. Who was the toughest player to guard in NBA history?
