Newcastle need to sign players! AND FAST!
Newcastle boss Steve Bruce provided a transfer update after his side's friendly win at Burton and says the club are working on bringing new players in. Steve Bruce left a few Newcastle fans scratching their heads after last nightâs 2-0 win at Burton, offering a contradictory update on our search for new signings. The NUFC boss insisted that we are âdoing our utmostâ to bring Joe Willock back to the clubâŚbut went on to say that we âhavenât bid for anybody yetâ just seconds later. Odd and altogether frustrating, however Bruce did state that he remains confident weâll âbring in two of three new playersâ â even if fans may have to wait âanother week or soâ to see new signings arrive. The 60-year-old also played down claims that a new âthree-year dealâ was in the offing, saying that was ânews to him.â That said, he did confirm that his current contract does NOT expire next summer â suggesting the âinitialâ three-year deal he signed back in 2019 has been extended, perhaps via a rolling contract. Bruce also confirmed that Callum Wilson missed out on the 2-0 win with a âslight knockâ to his hamstring.
