The New Mexico Lobos defeated the Fresno State Bulldogs 49-39 in the final game of the 2020 season. It was the second win in a row for the Lobos, who were led by the walk-on true-freshman quarterback Isaiah Chavez. Chavez was named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week for his performance.

Freshman quarterback Isaiah Chavez, who earned Mountain West Player of the Week honors, was 14 of 18 passing for 196 yards and a touchdown through the air and rushed for 95 yards and a score on the ground. Bobby Cole led the rushing effort with 138 yards and 3 touchdowns.
