Pep Guardiola has said that Manchester City are in a fight for the Premier League title after their 3-2 home defeat against Tottenham on Saturday. City’s first loss in 17 Premier League games leaves the champions on 63 points, six ahead of Liverpool, who have a match in hand and visit the Etihad Stadium on 9 April. Guardiola was clear that City are now in a tussle with the Merseyside club, having led by 12 points earlier this month. Following their loss to West Ham, Everton manager Rafael Benítez expressed his disappointment at goalkeeper Jordan Pickford being denied a free-kick: 'Normally that is a free-kick. When the keeper is going for the ball and doesn’t know what is going on behind him, you protect him.' West Ham manager David Moyes, on the other hand, praised the referees, saying they "are doing a much better job than they had been over the last couple of seasons" Subscribe to Guardian Football ► http://is.gd/GuardianFootball Ogbonna sinks Everton as slick West Ham give Moyes a happy return ► https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/oct/17/everton-west-ham-premier-league-match-report The Guardian publishes independent journalism, made possible by supporters. Hungary supporters were involved in more ugly scenes as they clashed with police officers at the start of their team’s World Cup qualifier against England on Tuesday night. Hungary fans booed as the teams took the knee before kick-off – there was also a banner expressing opposition to the anti-racism gesture – and it was not long before fighting broke out. 'I think the togetherness - that people see - is there and that does not change based on banners,' England defender Tyrone Mings said of the incident.
