The Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning will clash in the first-ever Battle for the Sunshine State. The Lightning may be without Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov, making their 2020 Stanley Cup defense much more challenging. In 1451 career NHL games, he scored 684 goals, notched 773 assists, and recorded a +95 rating. Additionally, he blew the rookie goal scoring record out of the water, lighting the lamp 76 times to shatter Mike Bossy's previous record of 53. The Finnish hockey sensation subsequently won the 1993 Calder for rookie of the year. He led the NHL in goals in 1999 to win his lone Rocket Richard trophy, and seven years later won the Masterton. With teammates Chris Pronger, Scott Niedermeyer, Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry, and JS Giguere, the Finnish Flash hoisted his lone Stanley Cup in 2007. San Jose Sharks News: Martin Jones Heating Up, Logan Couture Injury?
In my latest roundup of San Jose Sharks news and updates, I talk about a possible Logan Couture injury, Martin Jones' recent stellar play in net, and the possibilities of Patrick Marleau and Marcus Sorensen being traded. Let me know your impressions in the comments! The San Jose Sharks are coming off a two-game sweep of the Los Angeles Kings, clashing with the Arizona Coyotes over the weekend (back-to-back). Toward the end of the last Kings' game, captain Logan Couture took a hit from Jeff Carter and fell to the ice. The butt of Carter's stick accidentally popped Couture in the jaw/chin, but fortunately Logan skated off the ice with minimal assistance. Couture traveled with the club to Arizona and is a game-time decision. Additionally, Martin Jones has strung together four outstanding starts with the Sharks, helping the club to a 3-0-1 in those contests. The veteran goaltender has saved 142 out of 147 shots and has upped his SV to .902, the first time it's been over .900 in quite some time. Lastly, the Sharks will likely be sellers at the NHL Trade Deadline. A couple of names have surfaced recently, including Devan Dubnyk, Marcus Sorensen, and Patrick Marleau. Will Marleau break Gordie Howe's record in teal, or will he sport a different sweater? Trade rumors could certainly heat up over the next couple of weeks before the April 12 deadline! Jaromir Jagr had an illustrious NHL career spanning parts of 27 years. In this video I rank all 28 of Jagr's NHL's jerseys -- spanning his time with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Washington Capitals, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, Dallas Stars, Boston Bruins, New Jersey Devils, Florida Panthers, and Calgary Flames. Jaromir Jagr took the NHL by storm, winning the 1991 and 1992 Stanley Cup alongside legendary teammate, Mario Lemieux. He won the Art Ross 5 times, leading the NHL in points, was voted 3 times by the Players' Association as the best in the NHL (Pearson award), and captured the 1999 Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL's MVP. Jagr resurrected his career in his 40s as a member of the Florida Panthers, scoring 27 goals and 39 assists at the age of 43 in 2015-2016; he would be awarded with the Masterton Trophy. Kurtis Gabriel has brought a high degree of tenacity to the San Jose Sharks in his eight games this season, getting into fights with Ryan Reaves, Kyle Clifford, and Nick Deslauriers. How has his presence impacted the team? I explore just that in this video. Plus...try to guess how many times I say "right there" -- the final tally is rather shocking lol. Kurtis Gabriel has appeared in all of the Sharks' five games against the Vegas Golden Knights in 2021. The most recent contest, March 17, witnessed two unexpected bouts, with a Tomas Hertl fight against Mark Stone and Jonathan Marchessault fight vs Logan Couture. It's pretty rare you see two San Jose Sharks fights in the same game, let alone from two of their leaders on the score sheet.
