Blue Bulls vs Sharks preview
Blue Bulls coach Pine Pienaar has made four changes to his team to play against the Sharks on Saturday in Durban with Akona Ndungane returning after a lengthy injury lay-off while former SA under-20 star flyhalf Handre Pollard will make his Currie Cup debut. Pollard will start in place of the injured Tony Jantjies while Waylon Murray will make his first start for the Bulls at outside centre with Ulrich Beyers moving to the inside in place of the injured Francois Venter. Another change in the team sees prop Frik Kirsten return to the side and start ahead of Werner Kruger while Pienaar has brought in David Bullbring on the bench in place of Wilhelm Steenkamp. Baroka FC are SAFA 2nd Division champs
Baroka FC wrapped up their promotion to the National First Division (NFD) in style becoming the overall SAFA 2nd Division champions after beating Maluti FET College 2-1 in the final played at Makhulong stadium in Tembisa. Both teams have been promoted to the NFD after winning their respective groups during the week long national play-offs played at Ekurhuleni. It's third time lucky for Baroka who had failed in their previous two attempts to earn promotion and their young coach Sello Chokoe is already looking ahead... Meanwhile Maluti's dream of taking part in the play-offs and eventually earn promotion had been delayed by a season because last year they couldn't make the nationals after losing in the boardroom to neighbours Roses United. The Free State based side was promoted together with Western Cape's Milano Untied. Ramoreboli says the lessons learnt from the past prepared them well... Blitzbokke arrive in Moscow for Rugby World Cup Sevens Tournament
The Springbok Men's Sevens team arrived in the Russian capital of Moscow for the Rugby World Cup Sevens tournament (28-30 June) but the full squad will only train on June 25. Two team members, Cheslin Kolbe and Seabelo Senatla, will fly out to Moscow on June 24, having taken part in the Junior Springboks' 41-34 win over New Zealand in the third place play-off at the IRB Junior Rugby Championship in Vannes, France.
