MALIBU, Calif. - The UConn baseball team (11-1) defeated Pepperdine, 3-2, to secure a series win against the Waves and win its 10th-straight game. Pat Gallagher (3-1) was superb on the hill for the Huskies with seven innings of work that featured zero walks and nine strikeouts. The Leominster, Mass. native retired the final 10 batters that he faced.

Cole hit a driving floater with 5.9 seconds left and then took a charge at the other end of the court to rally No. 21 UConn to a 71-69 win over No. 8 Villanova on Tuesday night before a sold-out crowd (15,564) and the XL Center in Hartford. Adama Sanogo scored 20 points and Tyler Polley drained a clutch 3-pointer for the Huskies (20-7, 11-5 Big East), who beat the Wildcats for the first time since 2014 to secure their first 20-win season in six years.
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Adama Sanogo scored 24 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead No. 24/23 UConn to an 80-72 win over No. 18 Marquette on Tuesday night. Tyrese Martin added 18 points and 15 boards for the Huskies (16-6, 7-4 Big East), who swept the season series with the Golden Eagles. It was Sanogo's fifth double-double this season and Martin's third. Olivier-Maxence Prosper scored 18 points while Greg Elliott and Justin Lewis each had 17 for Marquette (16-8, 8-5), which has dropped two out of its last three after winning seven straight.
