Instant Reaction to Nebraska MBB 68-55 Loss To Indiana
Instant Reaction to Nebraska MBB 68-55 Loss To Indiana

Nebraska loses their first 2021 Big Ten basketball game at Indiana 68-55. Disappointing loss but not terrible. Two things to start: - It'd be nice to do an instant reaction to a win for once. - Nebraska fans need to not treat basketball like football. Every football game is a reason to go insane Every basketball game is not. It's the first game of a long season where our Huskers goal is to win their home games and pick off enough road games to get to .500 or above in the Big Ten so we can get to the NCAA tourney and get that win to kill that monkey on our back. Worst thing: 5 for 22 3-point shooting. Bad thing: Derrick Walker is our only dependable big guy. Good thing: Moving the ball much better than at the beginning of the season. Things I can't figure out: What is Wilhelm Breidenbach? Why doesn't Alonzo Verge ever pass to Keisei Tominaga? I have a book out! I have a book out! On August 21st, 2015, I unexpectedly dropped dead of a widowmaker heart attack. I was shocked five times on the way to the hospital with no response. I was shocked two more times in the ER. I was dead for over 20 minutes. A stent was placed, and I was induced into a coma. In January 2016 I received a second stent and in June I was diagnosed with an anoxic brain injury. I wrote a book about my death and recovery. The title, “Been Dead, Never Been To Europe” reflects the ironic nature of life, what happens versus what we want to happen. It’s available at Amazon. Instant Reaction to Nebraska Basketball's 4 OT 104-100 Loss to NC State
Instant Reaction to Nebraska Basketball's 4 OT 104-100 Loss to NC State

Some of all y'all have mentioned wanting me to do videos about basketball. Here you go. It was four overtimes before Nebrasketball was vanquished. Four short periods while we all sat on the edge of our seats praying and hoping for our beloved Huskers to pull off the road win. Nebraska had their chances. The Huskers lead 61-47 at 9:50. NC State was ice cold, but as basketball is a game of streaks and runs, the Wolfpack came charging back with a 14-0 run to tie the game at 6:09. Lay Mayen started a kerfuffle when he elbowed a NC State player, resulting in both sides coming off the bench. Ultimately, Mayen, Eduardo Andre and Oleg Kojenets were ejected for Nebraska. Cam Hayes of NC State was ejected. Nebraska survived the melee, leading 70-69 with 16.6 seconds left as Alonzo Verge hit a layup. NC State drew a foul (GASP!) at the other end and hit 1 of 2 to tie the game. Verge got the ball and drove to win it, and was apparently fouled to the floor with no call. Off to the first overtime we go. Bryce McGowens had a chance to win it in the second overtime as Nebraska finally got a foul call their way with 2.5 seconds left. Bryce had two free throws, hit the first but missed the second. In the third overtime, Bryce again had a chance, but the layup didn’t go in. NC State had a 3 that didn’t go down. Another overtime. It was rather clear Nebraska was somewhat exhausted by the fourth overtime. NC State won by outlasting our Huskers. This game... was .... interesting. Exciting. Infuriating. Basically, Nebraska shot 15 free throws compared to NC State’s 43.

Instant Reaction Nebraska 35-28 One Score Loss to Wisconsin
Instant Reaction Nebraska 35-28 One Score Loss to Wisconsin

Wooooooooo! Nebraska has another one-score loss to Wisconsin. It's mostly the same thing as almost every other game this season. Nebraska defense plays well enough to win the game. They gave up a lot of rushing yardage to 17-year old Braelon Allen, 22 carries for 228 yards, and three touchdowns, but they kept the game from getting out of hand. The offense... two horrible interceptions by Adrian Martinez sealed this game for Wisconsin. Martinez is maddening. Sometimes he makes the greatest plays possible, then in crunch time or when it's needed most, he overthrows or otherwise misses receivers in position for Nebraska to win the game. This defense has wasted their entire year on this offense. Despite all that, this team continued to fight for their coach. Maybe that's reason enough to look forward to at least one more year of Scott Frost.

The Yoshi Football Show: Nebraska - Rutgers Game Shows A Great Future For The Offensive Line

Hey everybody! It’s the Yoshi football show with former Husker offensive lineman and current CFL football star Jermarcus “Yoshi” Hardrick. This week Yoshi and I talk about Nebraska’s nice win over Rutgers. There were a whole lot of good things that happened in this game and we have you covered. Yoshi and I discuss: - 620 total yards offense, 365 yards rushing at over 6 yards a carry - Why and how running backs and offensive lineman can get in a “rhythm” - How this game sets up a very young offensive line for future success - A defense that played very well - Overcoming four turnovers and what that means to a young team - Yoshi’s reaction to me telling him Nebraska had opted out of a bowl game and football season is over - Teasers for what Yoshi and I might do during the offseason

College Football Playoff - It's The Same Old Crap Again This Year: How Can We Fix It?
College Football Playoff - It's The Same Old Crap Again This Year: How Can We Fix It?

The College Football Playoff Committee has determined the teams fit for this year's playoff. It's mostly the same old crap. The teams are set: 1. Alabama 2. Clemson 3. Ohio State 4. Notre Dame 5. Texas A&M - outside and whining The title game will feature Clemson vs Alabama, probably. It's tedious. It's boring. It sucks for everyone except the fans of very few teams. Is there a fix for this? Or are we re-hashing the same old arguments? Hey! I have a book out! It's about my recovery from a widowmaker heart attack I suffered right before the 2015 football season. I was dead for 20 minutes, and was later diagnosed with an anoxic brain injury. My book is called "Been Dead, Never Been To Europe" and it is available on Amazon. Nebraska - Minnesota: The “Just When You Think It Can’t Get Worse” Postgame Reaction

A pretty salty quick review of the 2020 Nebraska - Minnesota game. The Gophers showed up down 33 players including several starters. It was the worst Scott Frost loss yet, just when you can't think It wouldn't get any worse. Hey! I have a book out! The Yoshi Football Show: Nebraska’s Outstanding Defensive Performance Against Purdue
The Yoshi Football Show: Nebraska’s Outstanding Defensive Performance Against Purdue

Nebraska got its second win of the 2020 season, beating the Purdue Boilermakers 37-27. Yoshi Hardrick and I got together for another episode of The Yoshi Football Show and discuss the game. I really enjoy talking to Yoshi as he brings a different perspective from what I see happening. I hope you like our shows. Yoshi and I talk about: - The play of Nebraska’s defensive secondary - Cam Taylor Britt, Dicaprio Bootle - Playing zone vs man on defense and how Purdue quarterback Jack Plummer saw the defense - Cameron Jurgens snap issues completely went away - How Adrian Martinez has responded and played over the past couple weeks - Are leaders emerging? - Why you want a smack-talking, penalty-getting guy like Deontai Williams on your team - The play of Ben Stille, Jojo Domann - An amazing story of how Bo Pelini prepared his kickers for game time pressure

The Yoshi Football Show: The Clapping - Review of Nebraska vs Iowa
The Yoshi Football Show: The Clapping - Review of Nebraska vs Iowa

Yoshi Hardrick and Jon Johnston get together to talk about the Nebraska - Iowa game. Yoshi has played a lot of football as an offensive lineman, so his perspective on the game is especially wanted. Yoshi and Jon discuss: THE CLAPPING What is involved in playing center and why it can be so difficult The defense shutting down Iowa’s running game Adrian Martinez’ performance The proper time to get a holding call How Scott Frost is running his offense like these games are a scrimmage What it’s like to give up a sack at a crucial moment It’s well worth your time to get Yoshi’s point of view as it’s clear playing on the offensive line isn’t near as easy as we think it is. If you have questions for him, please leave them in the comments.
