The Citizens are currently eight points clear of second-placed Chelsea at the top of the table, while Arsenal occupy fourth position, four points clear of fifth-placed West Ham United. Match preview Arsenal faced plenty of criticism in the opening months of the 2021-22 campaign, but it has been a positive few weeks for the Gunners, who have won each of their last five matches in all competitions, including four straight Premier League victories over Southampton, West Ham, Leeds United and Norwich City. Mikel Arteta's side have actually scored 14 times in their last three matches, having thumped Sunderland 5-1 in the EFL Cup on December 21 before putting five goals past Norwich in the league on Boxing Day. The Gunners had been due to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in the league on December 28, but the match had to be postponed due to coronavirus issues in the Wolves camp. Nevertheless, the North London club have still played 19 Premier League matches during the 2021-22 campaign. A record of 11 wins, two draws and six defeats has brought them 35 points, which is enough for fourth position, four points clear of fifth-placed West Ham, but Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United will also both believe that they are firmly in the top-four race at this stage of the campaign. There will be no Arteta on the touchline for this match, with the Spaniard testing positive for coronavirus, and there has allegedly been an outbreak among the staff at the club. Man City, meanwhile, will enter this weekend's contest off the back of a 1-0 win over Brentford on Wednesday night, with Phil Foden scoring the only goal of the contest against Thomas Frank's side. The Citizens have now been victorious in each of their last 10 league matches, which has seen them rise to the top of the table, collecting 50 points from their opening 20 matches of the 2021-22 campaign. Pep Guardiola's side are eight points clear of second-placed Chelsea and nine clear of third-placed Liverpool, and second will welcome third in the league on Sunday, so Man City could be even further clear at the summit heading into the next set of fixtures in England's top flight. The reigning English champions will take on Swindon Town in the FA Cup on January 7 before hosting Chelsea in the league on January 15, and there is a danger that they could start to run away at the summit. Man City have won 11 of their last 12 matches against Arsenal in all competitions, including a 5-0 victory in the reverse match at the Etihad Stadium earlier this season, while they have not lost against the Gunners in the Premier League since December 2015. Arsenal Premier League form: LLWWWW Arsenal form (all competitions): LWWWWW Manchester City Premier League form: WWWWWW Manchester City form (all competitions): LWWWWW Team News Arsenal will again be without the services of Sead Kolasinac on Saturday through injury, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is still not involved with the first team at the Emirates Stadium. Calum Chambers, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Cedric Soares, Ainsley Maitland-Niles are also out following positive coronavirus tests, so Ben White could again feature at right-back for the Gunners. There could be just the one change from the side that started the five-goal success over Norwich last time out, with Emile Smith Rowe potentially coming in for Gabriel Martinelli, with Alexandre Lacazette again expected to lead the line despite being strongly linked with a move away from the club. As for Man City, Kyle Walker, Rodri and John Stones were all absent against Brentford due to a lack of fitness, and it is unclear whether the trio will be considered for selection here. Nathan Ake impressed at left-back against Brentford and could continue in that area of the field, but there are expected to be changes from the match against Frank's side, with Ilkay Gundogan, Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling all in line to start for the champions. Foden could play as a false nine for the visitors, with Jack Grealish dropping out, while Gabriel Jesus could also drop down to the bench, with Mahrez likely to return in a wide position. Arsenal possible starting lineup: Ramsdale; White, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney; Xhaka, Partey; Saka, Odegaard, Smith Rowe; Lacazette Manchester City possible starting lineup: Ederson; Cancelo, Dias, Laporte, Ake; B Silva, Gundogan, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Foden, Sterling We say: Arsenal 1-2 Manchester City Arsenal vs Man City Man City vs Arsenal Premier League #ARSMCI #AFC #Arsenal

Marcelo Bielsa's side fell to the club's joint-heaviest ever league defeat on Tuesday night, while Arsenal climbed into the top four 24 hours later with victory over West Ham United. Match preview Bielsa's men are in the midst of just about the most difficult run of fixtures it is possible to get in the Premier League right now, with Saturday's game the third in a run of four matches in a row against each of the current top four. The first of those saw them push Chelsea all the way before losing to a contentious last-gasp penalty, but the same XI was then trounced by a rampant Man City in midweek as Bielsa saw one of his sides concede seven goals in a game for the very first time in his long and distinguished managerial career. That result means that only the bottom two have now conceded more goals or possess a worse goal difference than Leeds this season, having shipped 12 in their current three-game winless run. Arsenal will justifiably head into Saturday's match as favourites, then, particularly after Wednesday's 2-0 London derby win over West Ham United lifted them into the top four of the Premier League table for the first time since October last year. Goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Emile Smith Rowe secured back-to-back wins for the Gunners, who have now scored five without reply in their last two outings following successive defeats to Manchester United and Everton before that. That improved form on the pitch has coincided with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's absence due to disciplinary reasons, with Alexandre Lacazette donning the armband against West Ham after his strike partner was stripped of the captaincy. While that saga rumbles on behind the scenes, manager Mikel Arteta's main concern on the field ahead of Saturday is likely to be improving his side's away form. The Gunners have lost five of their eight Premier League away games so far this season, including each of the last three, conceding nine goals in the process. Indeed, only four teams have shipped more goals on the road this term than Arsenal, all of whom are in the bottom six. If the visitors can correct those away woes and couple them with the league's joint-best home record this season then it may be hard for the chasing pack to catch them in the top-four race, and Arteta will be viewing Saturday's match against a wounded Leeds as a great chance to do just that. Leeds United Premier League form: LDWDLL Arsenal Premier League form: LWLLWW Team News A hat-trick scorer the last time these two sides met in the league, Aubameyang's banishment is expected to continue for at least another game amid growing speculation that he could leave the club following his latest fallout with Arteta. The Gunners have fared well without him so far, though, and Arteta could resist the urge to make too many changes to his side with Tuesday's League Cup tie with Sunderland representing a better opportunity to rest players. Smith Rowe could still come back into the side, possibly in place of Martinelli, who picked up a knock after opening the scoring against West Ham. The likes of Albert Sambi Lokonga, Eddie Nketiah, Nicolas Pepe and Nuno Tavares are the other players pushing for a recall, but they may be forced to wait until next week to return to the starting XI. Bernd Leno and Sead Kolasinac remain sidelined for the visitors. Leeds' own injury woes have only worsened since midweek, with Daniel James and Jamie Shackleton joining the list of absentees due to muscular and heel problems respectively. Junior Firpo's yellow card in the 7-0 defeat means that he is suspended for this match too, leaving Bielsa without at least eight first-team players. Star men Patrick Bamford and Kalvin Phillips are included in that, as well as other regular first-teamers such as Liam Cooper, Rodrigo Moreno and Pascal Struijk. There was better news on Robin Koch, though, with Bielsa confirming that the defender will be available for Saturday's match following an illness. Leeds United possible starting lineup: Meslier; Ayling, Koch, Llorente, Dallas; Klich, Forshaw; Raphinha, Roberts, Harrison; Gelhardt Arsenal possible starting lineup: Ramsdale; Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel, Tierney; Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Odegaard, Smith Rowe; Lacazette We say: Leeds United 1-2 Arsenal Arsenal vs Leeds Premier League #Afc #Arsenal #Leeds

Roberto Mancini's side booked their place in the showpiece event after coming up trumps in nerve-wracking penalty shootout against Spain, while England needed 120 minutes of their own to send Denmark packing 2-1 in the semi-finals. It has been 53 years since Italy got their hands on the trophy, while the Three Lions are playing in their first major tournament final for 55 years as Gareth Southgate endeavours to write his own chapter of history. Match preview During Manchester City's infamous Premier League title win of 2012, Robert Mancini was warned by Martin Tyler that he would "never see anything like this ever again". Win the Euros with Italy, however, and that will surely be a close second. With the wise old heads in defence, an irrepressible trio of talent in midfield and a fear-inducing attacking trident, Italy may have gone under the radar slightly before the first ball was kicked at Euro 2020, but the continental dominance has been there for all to see since 2018. Failure to qualify for the World Cup in Russia seems totally incomprehensible given how Mancini's men have swept aside the competition over the past three years, but not since the days of Dino Zoff and Luigi Riva have the Azzurri stepped foot onto the turf for a European Championship final and come up trumps. However, the Italians may just be 90 minutes away from ending that agonising 53-year wait for continental silverware. Italy European Championship form: W W W W W W England European Championship form: W D W W W W Team News While Roberto Mancini is working with a near fully-fit squad for the Euro 2020 final, thoughts will be spared for the unfortunate Leonardo Spinazzola, who caught the eye with his showings at left-back before rupturing his Achilles tendon against Belgium. The Roma man is now facing a painful six-month rehabilitation spell as Emerson Palmieri prepares to step foot onto familiar surroundings in his place, while Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci - at a combined age of 70 - will shield soon-to-be Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Locatelli's performances in the group stage led to reported interest from Arsenal and Juventus among others, but Marco Verratti's return to fitness has forced the Sassuolo man to take a back seat as the silky PSG man links up with Jorginho and Nicolo Barella in the engine room. Ciro Immobile made headlines for all the wrong reasons with his antics against Belgium, but the Lazio man is under no pressure up top from Andrea Belotti as Mancini keeps faith in the attacking trio of Chiesa, Immobile and Lorenzo Insigne. The Azzurri coach has had a full selection of players available to him following their semi-final win over Spain - barring Spinazzola - and an unchanged lineup should take to the field despite two laborious 120-minute encounters. England also came through 120 minutes of football against Denmark largely unscathed, and as he has done all summer long, Southgate must decide between another 4-2-3-1 setup or the three-man defence which worked to great effect against Germany. The Three Lions coach has largely settled on his strongest XI despite his penchant for tweaking formation, and the only uncertainty for the rearguard would be whether Kyle Walker moves in centrally in a three or continues out on the right-hand side in a four. Luke Shaw will have the inenviable task of keeping Chiesa quiet as Harry Maguire and John Stones form a more youthful centre-back pairing than that of their counterparts, while Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips are set to resume their midfield partnership. Saka was once again given the nod on the right for the semi-final and played a key role in his side's equaliser, so the Arsenal teenager should not be dropped despite pressure from the likes of Jadon Sancho, Phil Foden - who is doubtful with a foot issue - and Jack Grealish. Kane is after a slice of his own personal history here, as a goal in the final would see him overtake Gary Lineker as England's most prolific goalscorer in major tournaments, while he is only three away from breaking into the top five of the Three Lions' all-time scoring charts. Italy possible starting lineup: Donnarumma; Di Lorenzo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Emerson; Jorginho, Barella, Verratti; Chiesa, Immobile, Insigne England possible starting lineup: Pickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire, Shaw; Rice, Phillips; Saka, Mount, Sterling; Kane We say: Italy 1-2 England

Belgium breezed into the knockout round by winning all three of their Group B fixtures to top the section, while Portugal ultimately qualified from Group F in third behind France and Germany. Match preview Belgium might have topped their section with three wins from three matches, but Roberto Martinez's side have not exactly been handed an easy draw in the round of 16, with Portugal their opponents in Seville. The Red Devils started their Group B challenge with a 3-0 success over Russia before recording a 2-1 victory over Denmark in their second match on June 17. A potentially tricky encounter with Finland was next on June 21, but an own goal from Lukas Hradecky allowed Belgium to take the lead in Russia before the in-form Romelu Lukaku made sure of the points. Martinez's side are now unbeaten in their last 12 matches and will certainly fancy their chances of challenging for the trophy, although the winner of this contest is likely to face a dangerous Italy side in the quarter-finals. Belgium finished third at the 2018 World Cup but have not advanced past the quarter-finals of a European Championship since finishing as runners-up in 1980, meaning that their experience in the latter stages is limited despite now being considered as one of the finest sides in international football. Portugal, as mentioned, ultimately qualified from Group F in third position, having picked up a 2-2 draw against France on Wednesday night. The section provided all sorts of twists and turns in the final gameweek, but a spirited Hungary ultimately finished fourth to exit the competition. Fernando Santos's side were impressive in their group opener against Hungary, recording a 3-0 victory on June 15, but they then suffered a 4-2 loss to Germany, which placed the holders in a tough spot ahead of their clash with France. Two penalties from Cristiano Ronaldo saw Portugal claim a point against the world champions, which allowed them to advance as one of the best third-placed sides. Ronaldo, meanwhile, is now the joint-leading international goalscorer of all time with 109 alongside Ali Daei, which is just staggering. Dedryck Boyata should get the nod over Jason Denayer to start in the back three, while Thorgan Hazard is likely to keep out Yannick Carrasco to feature as the left-sided wing-back for the Red Devils. Youri Tielemans was an unused substitute against Finland but will be back in the side for this match, with Witsel also potentially featuring in the middle of the park, which would allow De Bruyne to form part of the front three. As for Portugal, Nelson Semedo had been expected to miss out with the problem that he picked up against France in the latter stages of Wednesday's contest, but the defender has trained ahead of his match and should get the nod once again, with Diogo Dalot on standby. Danilo Pereira is also a doubt with the blow to the face that he suffered against the world champions, but the midfielder is being tipped to overcome the issue to feature as part of a midfield three. As a result, Bruno Fernandes could again be named on the bench, with Santos likely to stick with the 4-3-3 formation that worked well on Wednesday. Belgium possible starting lineup: Courtois; Alderweireld, Boyata, Vertonghen; Meunier, Tielemans, Witsel, T Hazard; E Hazard, Lukaku, De Bruyne Portugal possible starting lineup: Patricio; Semedo, Dias, Pepe, Guerreiro; Moutinho, Danilo, Sanches; Bernardo, Ronaldo, Jota We say: Belgium 1-1 Portugal (Belgium win on penalties) This is an incredibly difficult game to call, as it really is a flip of the coin. The tie is delicately poised following a 1-1 draw at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano last week, during which Christian Pulisic's opener was cancelled out by an equally impressive Karim Benzema finish. Both European powerhouses enjoyed 2-0 victories in league action at the weekend, as Chelsea overcame Fulham while Los Blancos comfortably swept aside Osasuna. Match preview Zidane certainly knows a thing or two about success in the Champions League, and amid intense speculation surrounding his Bernabeu future, the Frenchman would do well to propel Real Madrid back to the top of the continental game this time around. Los Blancos have managed to banish the demons of their back-to-back last-16 exits in 2019 and 2020, and in the previous three times that Zidane has overseen a Champions League semi-final, his side have progressed on all three occasions, with their spate of dominance between 2016 and 2018 yet to be replicated. Chelsea Champions League form: D W W W L D Chelsea form (all competitions): L W D W D W Real Madrid Champions League form: W W W W D D Real Madrid form (all competitions): D D W D D W Team News Chelsea will make do without former Blancos midfielder Mateo Kovacic after he suffered a small setback in his recovery from a thigh issue, but Mason Mount is expected to be fit despite a scare against Fulham. Tuchel is also optimistic that Antonio Rudiger will make the cut after he sustained a minor head injury in the first leg, and the German's return could see Kurt Zouma drop out of the back three. Cesar Azpilicueta was given the day off against Fulham so should displace Reece James at right-wing back, while surprise starter Billy Gilmour will occupy a spot on the bench as Jorginho and N'Golo Kante return to the engine room. Pulisic and Mount will once again link up in the final third, while Tuchel has a big decision to make when it comes to who will spearhead the attack, and Havertz may edge out Werner after his man-of-the-match display at the weekend. Real Madrid were expected to welcome 100-goal captain Ramos back to the fold for the visit of Osasuna, but the 35-year-old's calf problem prevented him from earning some valuable minutes, although Los Blancos remain optimistic over his fitness for the second leg. Ramos would make a very timely return to the fold if he is passed fit as Varane was hooked at half time at the weekend, and the Frenchman has now been ruled out with an abductor issue. Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez's absences may force Zidane to field Alvaro Odriozola from the off, especially if Nacho Fernandez has to fill in at centre-back, but Marcelo being called up for polling duty should not impact his availability for the second leg. Should Marcelo be cutting it too close, Zidane will hope that Ferland Mendy shakes off a calf problem in time to start on the left, and midfielder Federico Valverde is in the squad after recovering from coronavirus. Eden Hazard failed to influence the game from the start against Osasuna so may not start upon his return to Stamford Bridge, but Toni Kroos and Luka Modric will both return after being rested at the weekend. Chelsea possible starting lineup: Mendy; Silva, Rudiger, Christensen; Azpilicueta, Jorginho, Kante, Chilwell; Mount, Pulisic; Havertz Real Madrid possible starting lineup: Courtois; Odriozola, Militao, Nacho, Mendy; Casemiro, Kroos, Modric; Asensio, Benzema, Vinicius Jr We say: Chelsea 2-1 Real Madrid Real cannot rely on their resilient, albeit depleted defence to pave a way to the Champions League final, as they simply have to go for goals at Stamford Bridge in order to book their spot in the showpiece event. Such a strategy could leave Zidane's men vulnerable to Chelsea's pace on the counter attack, and the Blues are not so bad at defending themselves, so we can envisage a narrow success for Tuchel's crop as they prepare to make the journey to Istanbul.
Don't forget to subscribe 🙏🙏 Manchester United 3-3 Everton Premier League week match 22 Man Utd vs. Everton Feb 6, 2021 at 8pm UK Man Utd vs. Everton Build‑up Preview Team News Football Preview: Manchester United vs. Everton - prediction, team news, lineups Manchester United welcome Everton to Old Trafford on Saturday evening looking to pick up where they left off in a record-equalling midweek humiliation of Southampton. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side put the Saints to the sword with a 9-0 victory, while Everton also returned to winning ways by overcoming Leeds United at Elland Road. Match preview There can be no better way to get a title charge back on track than equalling the biggest ever Premier League victory, with Man United responding to a two-game winless run in emphatic style on Tuesday night. The Red Devils were helped by the fact that Southampton ended the game with nine men and utterly collapsed from the moment the first of those was sent off in the second minute, but Man United still had to hold up their end of the bargain and showed absolutely no mercy in doing so. Solskjaer will also be pleased with the fact that the goals were spread around the team too; Man United became only the second team to have seven different scorers in a Premier League match, with Anthony Martial the only one to register more than once. The victory means that United are now the leading scorers in the league this season, but more importantly it keeps them in touch with table-toppers Manchester City, who face a trip to champions Liverpool this weekend. It was also a swift return to winning ways at Old Trafford following their shock 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United in their previous home game, meaning that the Red Devils have now won five of their last seven top-flight outings on their own turf, having gone six without victory before that. A surprise home defeat to Newcastle United is the only blot on Everton's copybook over the past month or so, and they quickly bounced back from that disappointment to beat Leeds on Wednesday night. The victory at Elland Road was their fourth in a row on the road - their best run for more than 35 years - and should they continue that run on Saturday then they would make it five top-flight away wins on the bounce for the first time since April 1970. Indeed, Man United themselves are one of only two teams to have won more away games than Everton this season, with the Toffees' tally of seven already their most in a single campaign since 2013-14. All of that leaves Everton sixth in the Premier League table, just four points adrift of champions Liverpool and crucially with two games in hand over their Merseyside rivals in fourth. Champions League qualification is still effectively in their own hands, then, and victory at Old Trafford would be another firm statement of their credentials. Manchester United Premier League form: WDWLDW Manchester United form (all competitions): DWWLDW Everton Premier League form: WLWDLW Everton form (all competitions): WWWDLW Team News Solskjaer has played down concerns over the fitness of Edinson Cavani and Luke Shaw, both of whom were taken off at half time against Southampton. Shaw's withdrawal was more precautionary than Cavani's, with the Uruguayan striker suffering a knock to his ankle which will be monitored ahead of this match. Cavani is expected to be available if needed, but Martial's brace off the bench - coupled with a good record against Everton which has seen him directly involved in nine goals from 11 meetings - could be enough for him to earn his 250th Man United appearance from the start anyway. Phil Jones is United's only confirmed absentee, so Solskjaer must decide whether to stick with a similar starting XI to the one which beat Southampton so convincingly, or offer recalls to the likes of Paul Pogba. Ancelotti is hopeful that Jordan Pickford will have recovered from the rib injury which kept him out of the Leeds game in time for this match. The trip to Old Trafford is expected to come just too soon for Allan, though, while Jean-Philippe Gbamin is a long-term absentee. James Rodriguez was an unused sub against Leeds and so should come back into the starting XI for this match, but former Man United forward Joshua King, who was also heavily linked with a return to Old Trafford last summer, will likely have to wait for his full Everton debut.
