2022 ACC Lacrosse Way Too Early Conference Predictions, UVA Locked & Loaded (LaxFactor Podcast #181)
The ACC has been the best top-to-bottom lacrosse conference for many years now. With teams like Virginia, Syracuse, Duke, North Carolina and Notre Dame, how could it not be? The 2021 season saw the ACC beat the living crap out of each other, each team having to play 6 ACC contests but that battle-tested these teams to the point that all of them ended up in the NCAA tournament. So how do things look for 2022? Duke Hosts High Point, Virginia Faces Carolina, Rutgers Battles Maryland (LaxFactor Podcast #142)
We have a host of fairly high profile college lacrosse games to talk about in todays episode. Duke and High Point start it all off tonight (Wednesday) followed up by North Carolina travelling north to take on ACC foe Virginia. Friday gives us a 3rd night in a row watching ACC teams play with Syracuse hosting Stony Brook at the Carrier Dome. Saturday we have perhaps the biggest game of the weekend other than UNC/UVA. Maryland hosts Rutgers in College Park in a battle of the top two Big Ten lacrosse squads. Both teams come into the game with 3-0 records and you can expect a hotly contested, sometimes angry matchup. Another battle being waged to decide who's top dog in their conference is Georgetown and Denver. The Pio's are playing touch after early losses to Duke and Carolina, but the Hoyas defense is tops in the nation and they have offense to compliment it. LaxFactor Live (#005): Syracuse, Maryland, Johns Hopkins, Penn State All See Their First Action
The Big Ten starts playing college lacrosse today seeing all six teams face-off against each other, and we get our first glimpse of Syracuse on Sunday as they face Army at home. Maryland hosts Michigan in what should be an easy first game for the Terps. Johns Hopkins hosts Ohio State in a rare situation seeing the Jays as the underdog. Penn State will take on Rutgers in PSU's first game "without Grant Ament" so they'll be looking to prove they can replace his production. Syracuse faces long time rival Army who always comes into the Dome and gives the Orange all they can handle. Another big game I'm excited about is Virginia taking on Loyola, should be a great one. High Point vs North Carolina, Army vs Virginia & Loyola vs Richmond (LaxFactor Podcast #136)
We had a great game on tobacco road Tuesday with North Carolina holding on late to deal High Point a loss by a score of 17-15. Chris Gray held court putting up another 7-point game (3 goals, 4 assists) and Asher Nolting took point for High Point and had a monster 4 goal, 5 assist outing in the loss. Antonio Arcona stood on his head in cage for High Point putting up 18 saves on the day. On Sunday, Virginia hosted Army and while UVA handled their business in the 14-9 win, Army looked decent in their first outing of the season. Payton Cormier paced the Cavs with 3 goals and 2 assists and Brendan Nichtern did his thing for Army with 2 goals and 3 dishes in the loss. Wyatt Schupler kept Army in the game with 12 saves. Richmond held a lead most of the game, but Loyola rebounded late seeing Kevin Lindley tie the game at 7's forcing overtime and then scoring the game winner in OT. Lindley finished the game with 3 goals, Aidan Olmstead went for a goal and 2 dishes in the big win over the Spiders. Cornell Drops Penn State, Brown Beats UVA, Syracuse Handles Hopkins & More (LaxFactor Podcast #89)
Cornell handled their business at the face-off dot and the result was a 1-goal win over Penn State. Brown used a big day from Phil Goss in net as he made 16 saves and that was good enough to get Brown the win. Syracuse rode their first midfield line to a route of Johns Hopkins in the Orange's first road game of the year. Princeton proved they can win games even if Michael Sowers doesn't put up 8+ points. Duke's 1st midfield got demoted to 2nd midfield, and then went on to play their best game of the year in beating Loyola by 3 goals. Ohio State got a big win over Hofstra. Maryland road Wisnauskas's 8 point day to a 1 goal win over visiting Albany, and Tehoka Nanticoke has continued his tear with 5 goals in the Great Danes loss. College Lacrosse Recaps: Yale vs UMass, Penn State vs Penn, Hopkins vs Princeton & ND vs Maryland
In this weeks 86th LaxFactor Lacrosse Podcast College Lacrosse Recaps Show, we are going to rip through Yale's loss to UMass, Penn State's OT win over rival Penn, Princeton's handling of Johns Hopkins and Notre Dame's loss to Maryland. Yale's goaltending killed them on the day and in the end is the big reason for this loss. UMass held Yale's known quantities down as well playing a great defensive game. Penn State needed help from almost everyone on their roster to squeak past Penn. Ament was quiet with just 2 goals and 2 helpers, and Mac O'Keefe played hero and netted the game winner in OT. Hopkins got owned by Michael Sowers and Princeton. Sowers put up 2 goals and 7 assists by the end of the first half, and the Tigers rolled the Jays from there. Duke vs Syracuse Lacrosse Game Preview (2019 NCAA College Lacrosse)
Duke heads to the Carrier Dome to take on Syracuse, this time, in lacrosse. But wait, what's that you said? The game isn't going to be held in the Dome? It's being played at a local high school? No beer or Dome Dogs? Yes, this weekend is not only exciting because Duke and Syracuse have played to 1 goal games the last two outings, Syracuse taking each of them thanks to Jamie Trimboli, but it's also a home game for Syracuse that won't be played at the Dome due to women's basketball playoffs. Princeton vs. Yale Lacrosse Highlights 2018
The Princeton Tigers lacrosse squad headed out to New Haven, CT to face the Yale Bulldogs, and Yale had the pleasure of doubling up Princeton 16-8. Yale has won six straight games and sits at 6-1 and Princeton has struggled now falling to 3-4. Ben Reeves quietly scored a hatrick, with a helper thrown in for good measure. jack Tigh and Brendan Rooney each put up 3 goals in the Yale win. Austin Sims and Phillip Robertson each tallied 2 goals and Michael Sowers was held at bay and only mustered a goal and an assist.
