Dec. 29 Eagles at Roadrunners Highlights
Colorado erased a 1-0 deficit, scoring four unanswered goals to defeat the Tucson Roadrunners, 4-1 on Sunday. The victory now gives the Eagles wins in seven straight games and points in the standings in each of their last nine. Colorado finished the night going a perfect 8-for-8 on the penalty kill while also converting on one of five opportunities on the power play. Hunter Miska was stellar in net, turning aside 32 of the 33 shots he faced to earn his sixth win of the season.
Pot of Gold Recap - Romito Family
The Colorado Eagles, Lucky Joe’s, and Subaru of Loveland teamed up to host the eighth annual “Pot of Gold Fundraiser” during the Eagles game against the Manitoba Moose last Saturday and the event culminated in the fundraising of $87,095 for the Romito family of Mead, Colorado. The community fundraising program was centered around the St. Patrick’s Day holiday, as the organization spearheaded efforts to help change the luck of a local family in need. Fans celebrated the evening with Celtic music, step dancing and green beer, as the Eagles donned specially-designed St. Patrick’s Day Jerseys that were auctioned off as part of the effort. In addition to the silent auction, donations were also collected with the help of Larimer and Weld County Sheriff’s office during the game. The $87,095 was the most money that has been raised in the eight-year history of the “Pot of Gold.”
