The United Arab Emirates came back strongly in their second game against Ireland to level the series 1-1. It wasn’t easy to bowl out a strong and talented Ireland unit and they did that with a lot of ease. Chirag Suri’s half-century, and later on, Akif Raja and Karthik Meiyappan’s excellent bowling performances steered UAE to a comfortable 54-run victory. Ireland, on the other hand, messed up in the run-chase in their second game against UAE. Batting collapse was the main reason behind their loss. Now the series is squared at 1-1 and whoever wins this match will take the series home. Despite having the home advantage Oman didn’t do well in the 1st game of the series as they were outplayed by Nepal in the final over by 6 wickets. Not enough runs on the board was the main reason behind their loss. They did well to take the game deep however excellent innings from Dipendra Singh Airee took the game away from them. The last time they played a T20I was in December when they toured the USA and managed to draw the series 1-1 against the hosts the USA. The conditions are completely contrasting having said the prior experience of playing in Oman will definitely help them.

Bangladesh and West Indies are set to cross swords in Match No.23 of the T20 World Cup on Friday, October 29 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah. The Caribbean team, led by Kieron Pollard, have had a disastrous campaign thus far, having lost both their games against England and South Africa. Their net run rate of -2.550 is the worst among the six teams in Group B. The Tigers are also yet to open their account after back-to-back losses at the hands of England and Sri Lanka. On Wednesday, October 27, England beat them by eight wickets. They also have a rather poor net run rate of -1.655. Evin Lewis has been excellent for the West Indies in the T20 tournament. The left-hander couldn’t get going in their game against England, but he showed his class against South Africa. The southpaw smashed 56 runs off 35 balls with the help of three fours and six sixes. He will be looking to replicate something similar against the Tigers as well. Shakib Al Hasan has been the standout bowler for Bangladesh in the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup. The left-arm pacer scored runs and picked up wickets for fun in the Qualifiers. The Magura-born also picked up two wickets against Sri Lanka. Albeit he failed to deliver against England, he is expected to make a comeback against the West Indies. Sri Lanka and Netherlands are set to lock horns in Match No.12 of the T20 World Cup Qualifiers on Friday, October 22 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah. The Lankans, captained by Dasun Shanaka, have been outstanding as they have won both their games and have a net run rate of 3.165. After beating Namibia by seven wickets, they defeated Ireland by 70 runs on Wednesday. The Netherlands, on the other hand, have already been knocked out of the tournament. Following their losses to Namibia and Ireland, Pieter Seelaar and his men will be looking to salvage some pride. Kusal Perera has looked a tad out of form in the ongoing tournament. In the first two matches, the left-hander could only manage to score 11 runs. In the previous match against Ireland, Perera bagged a duck. But the talent he possesses can’t be ignored by any means. If he gets going, the Netherlands could well end up chasing leather. Namibia and Ireland are set to lock horns in Match No.11 of the T20 World Cup Qualifiers on Friday, October 22 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah. Ireland, led by Andrew Balbirnie, started their campaign on a resounding note, beating Netherlands by seven wickets after Curtis Campher’s hat-trick. However, they lost to Sri Lanka by 70 runs on Wednesday. Namibia, on the other hand, made a strong comeback as they defeated Netherlands by six wickets. The upcoming game is a knockout. The team, who wins the game, goes through to the Super 12 along with Dasun Shanaka’s Sri Lanka. Paul Stirling is someone, who has loads of experience under his belt, having plied his trade for more than a decade. The right-hander prefers to take on the opposition bowling from the word go. In the first game against Netherlands, he smashed an unbeaten 30. But against the Lankans, he faltered to some extent. He will look to make an impact.
