At the end of a season like no other, the Betfred Super League Grand Final was decided by the very last kick, and bounce, of 2020. With the score at 4-4, Tommy Makinson's attempted drop goal hit the post, and the bounce favoured his St. Helens teammate Jack Welsby, who touched down to clinch back-to-back titles for Saints. Warrington Wolves season ended in disappointment as they were unable to keep up with a Hull FC side looking to be the first club to win the Super League Grand Final from 6th. Wakefield Trinity made it back-to-back Betfred Super League wins with a 48-18 win over Hull Kingston Rovers on Sunday, moving above the Robins in the process. Ben Jones-Bishop scored a hat-trick as Wakefield, playing at home for the first time since lockdown, dominated to lead 26-0 at half time. Thanks to the location of the venue, and an oil spill on the M62, kick-off was delayed by an hour, but neither side let that show on the field.
