At the end of a season like no other, the Betfred Super League Grand Final was decided by the very last kick, and bounce, of 2020. With the score at 4-4, Tommy Makinson's attempted drop goal hit the post, and the bounce favoured his St. Helens teammate Jack Welsby, who touched down to clinch back-to-back titles for Saints. His coach Kristian Woolf, and a beaten but proud Wigan Warriors coach Adrian Lam spoke to the media in the aftermath, still piecing together what they had seen. ------ For all the latest Rugby League news and opinion, head to http://forty20.news Grab the podcast: https://forty20rl.podbean.com/ Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/c/Forty20TV Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Forty20LIVE Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/forty20magazine/ Buy the magazine: http://www.scratchingshedpublishing.com/
Warrington Wolves season ended in disappointment as they were unable to keep up with a Hull FC side looking to be the first club to win the Super League Grand Final from 6th. Andy Last said his players deserved "9 out of 10" but knows more is needed as they'll travel to League Leaders Wigan Warriors next week, while Steve Price was left to rue to differences between the two sides which left the Wolves still waiting for their first title since 1955. ------ For all the latest Rugby League news and opinion, head to http://forty20.news Grab the podcast: https://forty20rl.podbean.com/ Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/c/Forty20TV Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Forty20LIVE Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/forty20magazine/ Buy the magazine: http://www.scratchingshedpublishing.com/
It was a reverse of Thursday's match as this time Leeds Rhinos picked up the points with a 20-18 win over Wakefield at the Mobile Rocket Stadium. Wakefield Trinity made it back-to-back Betfred Super League wins with a 48-18 win over Hull Kingston Rovers on Sunday, moving above the Robins in the process. Ben Jones-Bishop scored a hat-trick as Wakefield, playing at home for the first time since lockdown, dominated to lead 26-0 at half time. Chris Chester was obviously happy with the result, with David Hodgson, still filling in for the isolating Tony Smith, left to ponder a derby game with neighbours Hull FC next. ------ For all the latest Rugby League news and opinion, head to http://forty20.news Grab the podcast: https://forty20rl.podbean.com/ Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/c/Forty20TV Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Forty20LIVE Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/forty20magazine/ Buy the magazine: http://www.scratchingshedpublishing.com/
Castleford were back on the right side of the ledger beating Hull KR is a high scoring game in St. Helens. Thanks to the location of the venue, and an oil spill on the M62, kick-off was delayed by an hour, but neither side let that show on the field. That was the latest disruption for the Robins though, as their coach Tony Smith was forced to self isolate, leaving David Hodgson in charge, and both he, and the victorious Daryl Powell, faced the media afterwards. ------ For all the latest Rugby League news and opinion, head to http://forty20.news Grab the podcast: https://forty20rl.podbean.com/ Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/c/Forty20TV Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Forty20LIVE Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/forty20magazine/ Buy the magazine: http://www.scratchingshedpublishing.com/

Warrington Wolves ended their losing streak beating Leeds Rhinos 32-6 at the Halliwell Jones. Richard Agar made plenty of changes with their Challenge Cup Final against Salford coming up, but his youthful side had plenty of work to do, on little game time this season. For the home side, there were big performances from the likes of Toby King and Daryl Clark for Steve Price to be happy with. ------ For all the latest Rugby League news and opinion, head to http://forty20.news Grab the podcast: https://forty20rl.podbean.com/ Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/c/Forty20TV Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Forty20LIVE Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/forty20magazine/ Buy the magazine: http://www.scratchingshedpublishing.com/
