Baylor 84, Auburn 72

Jaylin Williams scored 17 points to lead five Tigers in double figures and Auburn threatened No. 2 Baylor for a half before the unbeaten Bears pulled away to win 84-72 Saturday in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge. Williams was 7-for-10 from the field and 3-for-6 on 3-pointers. Sharife Cooper scored 15 points, JT Thor scored 13, Allen Flanigan added 11 and Devan Cambridge scored 10. Williams and Flanigan shared Auburn's rebounding lead with eight apiece. Flanigan led Auburn with six assists while Cooper grabbed seven rebounds and dished five assists. Leading by five at the half, Baylor (16-0) made its first four shots of the second half to build a double-digit lead. The Tigers made seven of their last eight shots to trim a 21-point deficit to a dozen. Auburn trailed 35-30 at halftime after outrebounding Baylor 27-19 in the first 20 minutes.

Auburn 66, Kentucky 59

Auburn men's basketball victories vs. Kentucky used to be a once-in-a-blue moon event. Under Bruce Pearl, they've become an annual occurrence. For the fourth consecutive season, the Tigers took down the Wildcats, beating Kentucky 66-59 Saturday at Auburn Arena to give Auburn a 5-4 series lead in the past nine meetings. "To beat Kentucky is historic," said Pearl, who is 4-1 vs. Kentucky at Auburn Arena. "You're judged by how you do against the best teams on your schedule and certainly Kentucky's going to always be as good as anybody on our schedule. It matters, and we want to make history. Our program has been one of the top five programs in the SEC over the last four years." Allen Flanigan led Auburn with 21 points and nine rebounds. Devan Cambridge scored 13 points and Sharife Cooper added 11 points and a game-high eight assists to give the Tigers back-to-back SEC wins.

Texas A&M 68, Auburn 66

Auburn trailed by as many as 14 in the second half and erased a 9-point deficit in the final five minutes, but Texas A&M made a game-winning basket with less than two seconds remaining to prevail, 68-66, on Saturday. "I'm proud of my kids and the way they battled," Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl said. After struggling offensively in the first half, Auburn caught fire in the second half. Led by junior Jamal Johnson, the Tigers connected on 10 of 20 shots from deep and scored 44 points in the final 20 minutes. They shot 17 of 31 (54.8 percent) from the floor in that span and only turned it over five times.

Arkansas 97, Auburn 85

Jamal Johnson scored a career-high 21 points but Auburn fell to unbeaten Arkansas 97-85 Wednesday in the SEC opener at Auburn Arena, snapping the Tigers’ five-game win streak. “Arkansas was fast and quick and we just couldn’t keep them in front,” Auburn coach Bruce Pearl said. “We did not do a very good job with our individual defense and struggled to turn them over.” Arkansas (9-0, 1-0) used a late 10-0 run to take control after a pair of Allen Flanigan free throws tied the game at 74-74 with 7:30 to play. Flanigan scored 19 points and grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds.

Auburn 67, Appalachian State 53

Extending its non-conference regular season home win streak to 33, Auburn tuned up for SEC play with a 67-53 victory over Appalachian State Tuesday at Auburn Arena. "We're not a household name in the SEC nor do we deserve to be," Auburn coach Bruce Pearl said. "But we're also not a one-trick pony. It wasn't just the Final Four team. This team did what they needed to do. Part of the non-conference is preparing for the league. Ready or not, here it comes." The Tigers (6-2) used a 12-0 run down the stretch to pull away after the Mountaineers (6-3) pulled within two points.

Auburn 77, Troy 41

From the AU logo, J.T. Thor caught a pass, dribbled twice and threw down a thunderous left-hand dunk to punctuate one of the best halves in Auburn's Bruce Pearl Era. Twenty less artistic minutes remained, but Auburn's 43-10 halftime advantage essentially decided the outcome early in Saturday's 77-41 victory over Troy at Auburn Arena. "That's probably as good of a first half as I can remember," Pearl said. "We were firing on all cylinders. Every offensive possession was clean and it looked like we knew what we were doing. Defensively, we were disruptive."
