Sterling Raiders vs. La Marque Cougars - 2014/15 Boys Basketball - 03/13/15
http://www.gamedayhighschoolsports.com/ihss/houston/ STERLING VS LAMARQUE Sterling’s Curtlon Wesley who is headed to Incarnate Word was playing in his future home as the Raiders took on La Marque in the 4A state semifinal. Wesley was comfortable right off the bat as he knocks down the three pointer to open the game. La Marque kept pace in the first, 6-5 post, LaDerrious Arvie was too strong inside, Then in the 2nd quarter, look at the big man draining the trey, but Sterling was up 30-21 after the first half. Onto the 2nd half, the Cougars on the run, Raymond Stubblefield misses the layup, but Jauron Freeman cleans things up, as the Coogs tried to keep pace. To the 4th quarter, Keldrick Thomas pulls up and hits the jumper, as the Raiders opened up a 50-38 lead. Jauron Freeman led La Marque with 22 points, it would’ve only been 20, but somehow he gets the missed dunk to end up in the hoop anyway. Keldrick Thomas knocks down his 2nd three pointer of the half, he finished with 15 points. The 6-7 Wesley shows off some explosiveness down low that makes it 55-40 and pretty much sealed the game. Sterling advances with the 66-57 victory and will face Bridgeport in the finals.
