The NBA rumors are that Kevin Durant wants to join the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat, or Phoenix Suns. Reportedly, according to Ian Begley of SNY, the Philadelphia 76ers have had conversations about trading for Kevin Durant and there are "higher-ranking" members in the organization that think the Sixers should pursue a trade for Kevin Durant from the Brooklyn Nets. In the proposed trade, the Sixers would have to give up Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris, plus other trade assets like Matisse Thybulle and picks. There have been lots of Tobias Harris trade rumors and Tobias Harris trades proposed throughout the Sixers offseason but nothing has come to fruition. There have been many reports about a potential Kevin Durant trade and Kevin Durant trade rumors dating back to Kevin Durant trade request on June 30th. The Celtics are another team involved in the talks as they reportedly offered Jaylen Brown, Derrick White and draft picks for Kevin Durant but the Nets declined because they also want NBA Defensive player of the year Marcus Smart. Joel Embiid, James Harden, and Kevin Durant would immediately become the NBA's best trio and the Sixers would surely be an elite team next year and potentially win a championship. The Sixers would have to potentially give up their future and risk it all to trade for Durant, and trading Tyrese Maxey who looks like a future superstar would be a tough decision.
