Go Ahead Eagles Deventer 2009/2010 deel 1

The 2009-2010 season was a fantastic season for Go Ahead Eagles, a characteristic first division (Jupiler League) association football club from the city of Deventer, the Netherlands. Promotion to the premier league (Eredivisie) was missed by an inch. In the extra time that was needed in the away game of the finals for the promotion and relegation play offs games, premier league club Willem II Tilburg appeared to strong. In the national cup tournament (KNVB-beker) Go Ahead Eagles reached the semi-finals after beating -- amongst others - premier league clubs Heracles Almelo and NAC Breda, both in away games. At home in the sold out atmospheric traditional stadium "De Adelaarshorst", "the Eagles" lost the semi final against premier league club Ajax Amsterdam.
