The Hokies picked up a huge win on the road against the No. 3 Wolfpack, 72-61. Tech got it done on the glass and by sharing the ball, as they enjoyed a +17 rebounding margin and a +12 advantage in assists. 10 of VT’s helpers came from Georgia Amoore, who scored 12 points to grab a double double and hit 2 threes, including the 300th of her career. Matilda Ekh added 14 points and 7 rebounds, and Elizabeth Kitley was her usual dominant self. The Hokies’ star big scored 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.
The Orange had to hold on late to get a win over the Cardinals, 94-92. A goaltending call on a fast break layup attempt by Syracuse's Quadir Copeland with 3.8 seconds left in the game ended up being the deciding basket. Chris Bell was red hot from behind the three-point arc for the Orange, hitting 8 of 10 three-point attempts and finishing the game with a career-high 30 points. Judah Mintz had 21 points and JJ Starling added 19 points. Skyy Clark led Louisville with 23 points, five assists, and three steals. Tre White and Brandon Huntley-Hatfield each recorded a double-double. White had 17 points and 12 rebounds and Huntley-Hatfield had 19 points and 13 rebounds.
The Clemson Tigers improved to 2-60 all-time in Chapel Hill with an 80-76 win over the No. 3 North Carolina Tar Heels. PJ Hall was outstanding in the game, leading the Tigers with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists in the win. Joe Girard III and Ian Schieffelin were both outstanding as well, with Girard III scoring 21 points on 5-10 shooting from 3-point range and Schieffelin finishing with another double double with 14 points and 11 rebounds for Brad Brownell's club. Armando Bacot led the Heels with 24 points and 13 boards while RJ Davis scored 22 points for Hubert Davis' team. During the game, Davis passed Michael Jordan for the 15th spot in career points at UNC.
The #9 Blue Devils bounced back from their loss to UNC with a 71-53 victory over the Fighting Irish. The Duke defense held Notre Dame to 33.9% shooting from the field and forced 15 turnovers. Mark Mitchell had a double-double for Duke with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Caleb Foster also scored 13 points, and Jared McCain had 11 points, three rebounds, and two assists. For Notre Dame, Markus Burton scored a game-high 19 points and had four assists.
The Florida State Seminoles went on the road and came away with a hard-fought win over the Boston College Eagles, 63-62. It was a balanced scoring night for the Noles as 9 players scored for Leonard Hamilton's squad, led by Jamir Watkins' 10 points. Quinten Post scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the loss.
The Demon Deacons took control of the game early and never relented as they defeated the Yellow Jackets, 80-51. After giving up the opening basket of the game, Wake Forest went on a 23-0 run which expanded to a 33-2 run. Also, after hitting that first shot Georgia Tech missed their next 23 field goal attempts. Six Demon Deacon players scored in double-figures, including all five starters, with Cameron Hildreth's 17 points leading the way. Andrew Carr recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Kevin 'Boopie' Miller had 13 points, four rebounds, three assists, and a steal. For Georgia Tech, Baye Ndongo had 14 points and six rebounds, while Naithan George had 12 points, seven assists, and five rebounds.
The Eagles defended their home court and got an 80-75 victory over a tough 'Cuse squad. Claudell Harris Jr. notched 19 points including connecting on five 3-pointers for the Eagles. Jaeden Zackery and Devin McGlockton each scored 15 points for BC. JJ Starling and Judah Mintz each tallied 18 points for the Orange.
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets played a great game, got late-game heroics from a freshman, and upset the No. 3 North Carolina Tar Heels, 74-73. Naithan George got Armando Bacot on a pick and roll switch with 10 seconds remaining and took the big man to the hole for the go-ahead basket. RJ Davis had a shot attempt in traffic as time expired, but couldn't get it to fall. It was a back-and-forth game throughout, with Miles Kelly, Kyle Sturdivant and George each scoring in double figures for Damon Stoudamire's club. Davis led the Heels with 28 points in the loss.
The Panthers went on the road and upset the Golden Bears, 72-56. Pitt never trailed in the game and forced 16 Cal turnovers.
