The Syracuse Orange extended their winning streak over Cornell to 43 games with their 81-70 win. Judah Mintz responded from a tough game against Virginia with a 28-point performance. Chris Bell finished with 19 points on 5-10 shooting from three-point range.
The Yellow Jackets were tested by the Bears, but were able to pull out the 73-60 victory. Georgia Tech shot 46.7% from the field for the game and got 22 points from their bench. Kayla Blackshear scored a team-high 14 points and grabbed four rebounds. Rusne Augustinaite had 12 points, four rebounds, two blocks, and two assists. Kara Dunn added 11 points off the bench. For Mercer, Deja Williams hit five three-pointers and scored 17 points.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish won a hard-fought game against Western Michigan, 86-65. Four players scored in double figures for the Irish, led by Tae Davis who scored 19 points on 8-11 shooting to go along with 10 rebounds. Markus Burton added 17 points on 5-6 shooting and Braeden Shrewsberry chipped in 16 points on 4-6 shooting from three-point range in the win.
The Boston College Eagles had an extremely productive 1st half as they pulled away from Central Connecticut State and never looked back in their 82-68 win. The Eagles assisted on 12 of their 18 made field goals on their way to shooting 62% from the floor including 54% from three-point range as they built a 49-23 lead in the first twenty minutes of play. Donald Hand Jr. led the Eagles with a career-high 16 points on 5-9 shooting while Quinten Post scored 13 points to go along with 6 rebounds in the win. Mason Madsen was key to the first half explosion, scoring 13 of his 15 points before the break.
At home in Blacksburg for their ACC Conference opener, the Hokies held on late and defeated the Louisville Cardinals, 75-68. Virginia Tech did not have a made field goal in the final 4:18 of the game, but they were able to hold and expand their lead due to good free throw shooting. The Hokies were 22 of 27 from the free throw line. MJ Collins scored a game-high 20 points, and had four rebounds and four assists. Lynn Kidd added 19 points and four rebounds. For Louisville, Skyy Clark was the Cardinals leading scorer with 16 points. Brandon Huntley-Hatfield had 14 points and nine rebounds.
On the road in Pittsburgh, the Clemson Tigers improved to 7-0 with an 83-76 win over the Pitt Panthers. Joe Girard III led the Tigers with 25 points on 6-9 shooting from 3-point range while PJ Hall added 22 points and 11 rebounds in the win. Blake Hinson tied a career-high with 27 points in a losing effort.
After getting their first win over a ranked opponent under new coach Damon Stoudemire earlier in the week, the Yellow Jackets got their first Top 10 and ACC win under Stoudamire with a 72-68 win over the #7 Blue Devils. Georgia Tech ended the game on a 10-2 run and only trailed for 1:38 in the game. Duke had a chance to tie or take the lead with three seconds left in the game but never got a shot up. Baye Ndongo led the Yellow Jackets with 21 points, five rebounds, four blocks, and two rebounds. Miles Kelly added 16 points and seven rebounds. For Duke, Jeremy Roach had 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
#12 Florida State moved to 4-0 on the season after defeating South Alabama, 80-45. Florida State's defense was stifling, forcing 14 turnovers and holding South Alabama to just 26.3% shooting from the floor. Makayla Timpson had a double-double with a team-high 17 points and 11 rebounds. Ta'Niya Latson had six points, 11 rebounds, and six assists. Coming off the bench, Amaya Bonner added 14 points and four rebounds.
