In this video, I speak about the form of Kai Havertz and Timo Werner where after losing to Everton and to Wolves, Chelsea find themselves in a situation where players have to perform without much choice. Havertz has failed to impress since returning and could be facing a psychological issue whereas Timo Werner is playing as a winger which is being questioned now. Should Werner move back to a striker role? Also, Frank Lampard made some interesting comments after 2-1 Chelsea loss at Wolves and blamed his player's mentality plus fatigue. I look into Frank Lampard and whether his analysis was justified or not... After thinking about lost to Wolves The Blues fell to a 2-1 defeat to Wolves on Tuesday to cast doubt over their title aspirations and I have not been convinced by summer signing Timo Werner. I kindly suggested that Chelsea's Timo Werner should be dropped by Frank Lampard - and has urged the forward to work on his finishing. The £52m summer signing from RB Leipzig has shown signs of promise in a Blues shirt, but suffered a frustrating night in the 2-1 defeat to Wolves on Tuesday. The German has failed to score for the club since netting in the 4-1 win against Sheffield United last month, and he struggled to make an impact again against Wolves. I believe Werner is the man who could make way for another player over the Christmas period. "I think Werner when he comes in off that left, he’s very, very dangerous, "I just think he just needs to brush up on his finishing, but he’s a young striker and he will do that. "So I’ve got no doubts he’ll be a top player for Chelsea but there are options now and he [Lampard] needs to move it around. "Ziyech coming back in, freshen it up at some point. Take Werner out, bring him back in. "It’s a marathon to win a title usually, and certainly this year. You’ve got to use your whole squad. So Werner maybe comes out, bring the other lads back in." Nevertheless, I do think both Werner and fellow big-money signing Kai Havertz have a big future at Stamford Bridge despite their somewhat subdued starts to live in the Premier League. "You can compare him (Werner) with other big foreign imports, sometimes they come to this league – certainly in these situations, you have to understand it might take time for them to settle. "I think for him and Havertz it has as well. Werner has probably settled in a little bit quicker. They are two top players, I know because you see the glimpses. "But I have no doubt Werner and Havertz will be massive players for Chelsea." The Blues boss also warned his players they must rediscover the form which sent them on a nine-match unbeaten run in the Premier League. Frank Lampard fires warning to Chelsea players after back-to-back Premier League defeats 2-1 defeat at Wolves on Tuesday following a 1-0 loss at Everton last weekend, meaning the Blues have lost two consecutive games in the top flight for the first time in 2020 Lampard said: "Performance. Hakim Ziyech appeared to tell Chelsea team-mate, Timo Werner, he needed to be more clinical in future after the forward missed a late chance against Rennes in the Champions League. The German striker has had a mixed start to life at Stamford Bridge since joining from RB Leipzig over the summer, scoring a very respectable eight goals in 14 games in all competitions but also missing a number of big changes. That continued in France on Tuesday night, with Werner missing from six yards out in the fourth minute of the match, somehow blazing over the bar from close range. He squandered another huge chance late in the match after being played in by Ziyech, firing a tame effort straight at the Rennes goalkeeper – though fortunately, Olivier Giroud was on hand to spare his blushes and dispatch the rebound with a powerful header. Ziyech did not appear best pleased with Werner, though, and before Giroud’s follow-up effort had hit the back of the net he could be seen screaming and gesticulating at his profligate team-mate. Despite Chelsea grabbing their dramatic late winner, Ziyech did not forget the miss and as all the players celebrated in a huddle around Giroud, the Moroccan took the opportunity to speak to Werner. Ziyech is actually such an influential character already, he has very high standards, look at this clip, he knows Werner needs to put those chances away but reassured him and Timo even says sorry, I’m loving the team chemistry. He appeared to tell him that he cannot spurn such golden opportunities, with Werner acknowledging he could have done better with his effort and offering a brief apology. Manager Frank Lampard has zero concerns about Werner and has been happy with his performances so far, saying: ‘I don’t know, he’s scored a lot of goals already and he’s adapting to a new league. ‘The chance today, Timo wants to score that but the ball’s bobbling as it comes along and I know myself that those finishes look a lot easier from afar than they always are. I think it’s just normal that a player of Timo’s quality and where he is that he’s going to get even better because he’s a top-class player. ‘I’ve been really happy with him since he’s got here. He’s feeling his team-mates and his team-mates are feeling him, hence he’s getting in positions to score in every game. Watch out Manchester City and Liverpool: Ziyech-inspired Chelsea can mount a Premier League title challenge. The Blues' run of form has seen them go from mid-table to sitting right behind Jurgen Klopp's men, which has left them looking like contenders. Edouard Mendy embraced Reece James as they walked off the field, while Ben Chilwell had Thiago Silva in a playful headlock following Chelsea's 4-1 win over Sheffield United, emphasising the prevalent feeling currently around the club. Joy is being felt. Work on the training field is now beginning to show on the pitch, new signings are bedding in nicely and Frank Lampard's side are racing up the Premier League table ahead of the international break. Chelsea are now just one point behind the table-topping duo of Liverpool and Southampton, a situation which puts the Blues firmly in the title conversation. In a title race that looks like it's going to have plenty of outsiders, Chelsea look now to be the most threatening to Liverpool and Manchester City, who face each other on Sunday night. The depth of the squad and the ease in which the big signings have settled have meant a rapid improvement in form. Lampard has been cautious about talking of the title in order to minimise pressure on his side, but the noise from outside increasingly puts Chelsea in the picture. We are third. Now we are seeing some of the work. Some of the work today was really encouraging for me to see those signs. I am the first to keep my feet on the ground," Lampard told Sky Sports after downing the Blades at Stamford Bridge. "Every game is challenging. Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder, having seen his side play both Liverpool and Man City already this season, puts Lampard's side in the race. David McGoldrick's strike was the first breach of Mendy's goal in 459 minutes of action but that backline looked strong for much of the 90 minutes on Saturday. Along with a settled rearguard, Lampard has got the best out of his 4-3-3 formation which has perfectly balanced his signings. Many of his new players, like Thiago Silva, are making a huge impact. The 36-year-old's presence has lifted both Kurt Zouma and James to a new level, and goalkeeper Mendy is a huge improvement on out-of-form Kepa Arrizabalaga. Many of Chelsea's most dangerous chances against the bottom of the table side were conjured by Ziyech's wand of a left-foot, which was too much to handle. Ziyech created more chances than any other player in a single league match this season - six -with two leading directly to goals on a day when Chelsea created 20 in total. He played in Mateo Kovacic, who pulled the ball back for Tammy Abraham's opening goal. He then assisted Ben Chilwell's far-post tap-in with his trademark crossing ability and again for Thiago Silva.
