Kody Clemens had three hits and Kendry Rojas earned his first major league win with a strong outing in relief as the Minnesota Twins held off the Cleveland Guardians 5-4 on Sunday. Brooks Lee hit a tiebreaking single in a four-run fifth inning for the Twins, who took two of three in the series from their AL Central rivals. Guardians manager Stephen Vogt was sent home hours before the first pitch due to lingering respiratory issues. Tony Arnerich filled in as acting manager. Making his second career appearance, Rojas (1-0) struck out five and walked three over 3 1/3 innings. He allowed one run and five hits. The 23-year-old left-hander from Cuba entered to begin the second inning after opener Andrew Morris worked a 1-2-3 first. Yoendrys Gómez pitched a perfect ninth for his third big league save and second this season. Brayan Rocchio went 4 for 4 and scored twice for Cleveland, setting a career high for hits. Gavin Williams (5-3) gave up five runs and 10 hits in six innings. He struck out six and walked one. | https://www.espn.com/mlb/recap/_/gameId/401815287 Subscribe and ring the bell for the latest talk about the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Guardians, Cleveland Cavaliers and Ohio State Buckeyes: https://bit.ly/ucss_subscribe Follow on Twitter: https://twitter.com/ultclesports Watch live on YouTube 11 a.m.-1 p.m. weekdays on YouTube and WKYC+ on your Roku and Fire TV apps! The Washington Wizards have won the NBA Draft lottery to secure the first selection in next month's event at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. With the worst record in the NBA, the Wizards were among three teams with 14-percent odds of getting the top pick heading into the lottery. Meanwhile, several teams jumped up in the lottery, including the Utah Jazz, who got the No. 2 pick, as well as the Memphis Grizzlies and Chicago Bulls, who will pick third and fourth, respectively.Next month's draft has a number of elite recruits, including BYU swingman AJ Dybantsa, Kansas combo guard Darryn Peterson and Duke power forward Cameron Boozer, the son of retired NBA forward, Carlos. 'Standing here is kind of crazy,' Dybantsa told reporters in New York on Sunday, as quoted by The Associated Press. 'One of these teams is going to be home.' In addition to the top pick in next month's NBA Draft, the Wizards also enter the 2026-27 season with former All-Stars Trae Young and Anthony Davis, both of whom were acquired in trades during the 2025-26 campaign. Interestingly, this marked the second consecutive year that a team that acquired Davis in a mid-season trade went on to get the first pick in the following draft. Last season, the Dallas Mavericks traded Luka Doncic for Davis and ultimately picked Rookie of the Year favorite Cooper Flagg first overall. No team suffered more on Sunday than the Indiana Pacers, who also had a 14-percent chance at the top pick, but will now surrender the fifth-overall selection in next month's draft by virtue of a conditional February trade for center Ivica Zubac. That deal specified that the Pacers' first-round pick would convey to the Clippers if it fell between picks No. 5 and No. 9. The Brooklyn Nets also got some bad news on Sunday, landing the No. 6 selection despite also having a 14-percent chance at the top spot. The Sacramento Kings will pick at No. 7, while the Atlanta Hawks, Mavs, Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors, defending-champion Oklahoma City Thunder, Miami Heat and Charlotte Hornets found out selections No. 8 through No. 14, respectively. The NBA plans to implement anti-tanking rules in 2027 after a number of teams, including the Wizards, were accused of limiting their rosters in an effort to capture this year's No. 1 overall pick. Washington has not reached the playoffs since Scott Brooks coached the team in 2021. Brooks was fired after that season and replaced with the son and namesake of franchise legend Wes Unseld, who was then replaced with Brian Keefe in 2024. Keefe is expected to retain his job on the Wizards sideline heading into next season despite a record of 43-160 in Washington. The Wizards were represented on Sunday by John Wall, the retired point guard they picked the last time the team won the lottery. Washington also had the top pick in 2001, when they made the ill-fated decision to pick Kwame Brown, as well as 1961 and 1962, when they added Walt Bellamy and Bill McGill, respectively. #basketball #washingtonwizards #wizards #nbadraft

These are the highlights for Game 7 of the 1991 National League Championship Series. After a big 1-0 victory for the Atlanta Braves thanks to the pitching of Steve Avery, the Atlanta Braves have forced a decisive game 7. This is the best thing that could happen to the Braves, and this is the worst thing that could’ve happen to the Pirates. Why? Pitching. The Pittsburgh Pirates have John Smiley on the mound, who pitched in game 3 and was the losing pitcher in that game. The Pirates relied on Doug Drabek to get the win in game 6, but they now have to rely on the struggling John Smiley in order to get a few couple of good innings from him. The Atlanta Braves have their John Smoltz on the mound. John Smoltz pitched in game 3, and he pitched really well and gave the Braves the win in that game. The Braves are trying to go to the World Series for the first time since 1958, and the first time since moving to Atlanta. The Pittsburgh Pirates are trying to go to the World Series for the first time since 1979. In Game 7, these two teams face off in the last game of this series, with the winner of this game going to the 1991 World Series to face off against the American League Champion Minnesota Twins. 🇫🇷 Yssam Moungalla — Scouting Report (AS Monaco | Betclic ELITE) Profile • Position: Wing • Height: 6’6 • Born: 2005 • Team: AS Monaco • League: Betclic ELITE • Archetype: 3-and-D wing / floor-spacing specialist ⸻ 📊 Full Game Performance vs Paris Basketball (EuroLeague Team) 👉 15 PTS — 3 REB — 1 AST — 1 STL — 13 EVAL ⏱ 18 MIN 🎯 Shooting Splits • 2PT: 0/2 • 3PT: 4/8 (50%) • FT: 3/4 (75%) ➡️ High-level shooting performance against elite competition. ⸻ 🧠 Scouting Evaluation 🎯 Elite Floor Spacing (Main Strength) Moungalla completely embraced his role as a perimeter spacer in this matchup. His impact offensively came almost entirely through shooting gravity and off-ball efficiency. 👉 What stood out: * Quick release mechanics * Immediate confidence off the catch * Excellent readiness positioning ➡️ Constantly punished defensive rotations and late closeouts. The ability to get shots off quickly without needing rhythm dribbles is highly valuable for modern spacing systems. ⸻ ⚡ Catch-and-Shoot Profile 👉 4 made threes against a EuroLeague-level opponent is significant. What makes it more interesting: * Shot within flow * Didn’t force offense * Maintained spacing discipline throughout the game ➡️ True catch-and-shoot wing archetype. At 6’6, that type of perimeter efficiency naturally increases long-term role translation. ⸻ 🧩 Off-Ball IQ / Role Understanding One of the strongest aspects of his performance was his understanding of role and offensive structure: * Relocated correctly * Timed movements well * Stayed available as an outlet shooter 👉 Played simple and efficient basketball. This is important because: * Many young wings try to overcreate * Moungalla instead maximized possessions through efficiency and spacing value ➡️ Winning role-player traits. ⸻ 🎮 Offensive Role Projection Right now, most of his offensive value comes from: * Spot-up shooting * Floor spacing * Off-ball movement The self-creation package remains limited at this stage, but the shooting gravity alone creates offensive impact. 👉 Potential next development areas: * Attacking closeouts more consistently * Improving handle under pressure * Expanding secondary creation ability
