Support by buying my NBA T-Shirts: https://heatcheck.info/ The All Star Game was extremely boring, but thankfully Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic gave us an actual show much better than the game. jokic made it up to the fans with that dunk, for the hilarious fake that he pulled on everybody with this. Just look at that sheepish grin. Man he’s the best. When Bam Adebayo inbounded the ball off his back and later in that possession hit the three, Joker went to the referee to complain about it. Dude wanted a technical called or what?! He was in a great mood, and this might have been the reason. Look at Doncic bargaining his way to his first points of the night. And Nikola loved it. Luka got an open dunk right here, and I guess he got hyped up so on the very next possession, he tried to get fancy with a self alley oop dunk, but ended as an epic fail. I mean, in a game where there is absolutely no defense, the points kind of lose their value, so the misses are almost more fun. Especially when they’re this outrageous. Was this a wild 2 for 1 or did Luka misread the clock? Jokic thought it was so bad that he called for Luka to be subbed out. These 2 are absolutely hysterical. Look at them acting like little kids tricking Steph Curry into getting under the basket so that Nikola would dunk on him. And you know how usually if the winner is decided, we get a few crazy dunks at the very end? Well, it was Nikola’s turn last night and… The Doncic and Jokic bromance is hilarious. Their type of humor and how well they feed off of each other is unlike anything we’ve seen in recent years. I don’t wanna make any of these 2 fan bases mad but maaan if they played together that would be priceless. So yeah, the Sunday event was almost unwatchable, but All Star Saturday was fire, and there were even some major controversies that you may have missed. So you gotta check out this video right here. Or do we need to cast our gaze towards the bigger picture and the governing body, World Rugby? World Rugby has, over recent years, enacted multiple law changes under the guise of player safety and enhancing viewer experience. Yet, the England vs Wales match stands testament to a system that seems more interested in making the referee's whistle the star of the show, rather than the players themselves. The sheer number of interruptions not only disrupted the flow of the game but also made it painfully unwatchable at times. Is this the future of rugby we've all been waiting for? A seasoned viewer would remember the days when rugby was as much about brute strength as it was about strategic finesse. When games were gritty, intense, and every play was unpredictable. Today, however, the unpredictability stems from pondering over which innocuous tackle or ruck might lead to the next card. As seen in the incident with Freddie Steward, which mirrored an earlier situation in a South Africa vs Argentina game, the application of the laws seems inconsistent at best and biased at worst. To add to the dismay, Owen Farrell, England's captain, was shown a red card, placing his World Cup campaign in jeopardy. While the protection of players is paramount and head-high tackles should indeed be penalized, the spate of cards shown in this match raises the question: Are the current laws enhancing player safety or merely sanitizing the very essence of the game? This isn't a plea for unchecked aggression or a return to the unchecked brutish ways of the past, but a call for balance. Rugby's beauty lies in its physicality blended with strategy, respect, and discipline. The laws should protect players but also respect the rich heritage of the game. England's win against Wales could have been a memorable battle, akin to the epic duels we've witnessed in the past. Instead, the narrative was hijacked by the frequent blare of the referee's whistle, punctuating what should have been an elegant dance of athleticism with staccato interruptions. World Rugby needs to ask itself – is this the legacy they envision for the sport? In conclusion, the England vs Wales match at Twickenham is a dire warning – a manifestation of laws gone awry.
