Grund genug für eine neue Folge von Tradition oder Kommerz! Wir blicken auf die DDR-Historie der Eisernen. Dort wurde man vom Staat gefördert, war aber trotzdem ein Außenseiter. Die Fans spielen eine große Rolle. Die Atmosphäre an der Alten Försterei ist speziell und beim Bau des neuen Stadions haben viele freiwillige Helfer geholfen. Das ist nicht das einzige Mal, dass die Fans dem Verein unter die Arme griffen. Und: Die Finanzen sind wichtig. Investor Michael Kölmel ist Teil von Union Berlin, was jedoch oft vergessen wird. Ich finde: Er ist ein Vorbild für andere externe Geldgeber, denn es herrscht Ruhe. Union Berlin ist kultig, aber: Geht das überhaupt im modernen Fußball ohne auch Kommerz im Verein zu haben?
