What kind of tyre compounds are used in F1? This video gets into all the tyres used in a Formula 1 race in different conditions.

2022 Italian Grand Prix: F1 race analysis
2022 Italian Grand Prix: F1 race analysis

Sections of the crowd at Monza actually booed Max Verstappen after he had won the 2002 Italian Grand Prix. Partly that was because they had wanted to see a race to the flag (the GP actually finished behind a Safety Car) but mainly it was because they had wanted to see a Ferrari victory. In this video Peter Windsor addresses this issue of concern - and also offers his explanation as to why Max and the Red Bull RB18 were again so dominant - why they were not sucked-in by Charles Leclerc's relatively early switch to medium tyres and would thereafter control the race with a significant tyre-life (and overall pace) advantage. Also in this video: analysis of other key results from Monza, including George Russell's P3 for Mercedes, Carlos Sainz finishing P4 after starting his Ferrari at the back of the grid - and the very popular P9 for the Williams stand-in driver, Nick De Vries. How Max won and Mercedes lost at Zandvoort by Peter Windsor
How Max won and Mercedes lost at Zandvoort by Peter Windsor

Max Verstappen won his home race - the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort - from the pole...but it was no easy thing. The two Mercedes shocked the Red Bull and Ferrari teams with their mid-race pace on hard Pirellis - and proved equally competitive when they switched to medium tyres on a lighter fuel load later in the race. Then came a Safety Car period and, for Max, a welcome switch to soft tyres for the final sprint. Mercedes' George Russell also switched to softs but Lewis Hamilton, who had been in the strongest position to challenge for the lead, was left out on mediums. Mercedes saw this as an aggressive strategy because it gained them track position (ie, the lead for Lewis) - and assumed that, in P2, on soft tyres, Lewis was never going to be able to beat Max anyway. In this video, Peter Windsor argues that Hamilton, on softs, might well have been able to cause Max a few problems - particularly as Russell, on 15-lap-old soft tyres, was able to all-but-match Verstappen's fastest lap (set when Max's tyres were still fresh). Max: an F1 win for the ages by Peter Windsor
Max: an F1 win for the ages by Peter Windsor

He started P13, passed five cars on his opening lap - and was up to P3, chasing down his Red Bull team-mate, Sergio Perez, after only four racing laps of Spa. And then he won it. With ease. Going away. Max Verstappen, the 2021 World Champion, proved so untouchable in every department at Spa that he even set fastest lap on medium-compound Pirelli race tyres. In this video, Peter Windsor analyses the speed of the Adrian Newey-engineered Red Bull RB18 in the context of the new FIA Technical Directive that at Spa was policed for the first time. He looks at the first-lap accident that eliminated Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton - and at Ferrari's long, long afternoon (which resulted in a closely-run P3 finish for Carlos Sainz).
